I have just had the best burrito I have ever had at The Local. It was amazing! I had chilli beef burrito with avocado and lime, it was FANTASTIC. Laura, Paul and all their staff are so welcoming and make you feel like part of the family. Oh, they also have the best beer selection ever 👍. I always look forward to going to see everyone at The Local. Best craft beer bar in Doncaster. The Local should be very proud of themselves 😄

We have been popping by for over a year now. And each time there is something new to drink on the taps; - although the Thornbridge Green mountain, ABK, brewyork cider and Paulander are always a solid choice too and always on. The bar is small and ‘can’ be crowded on busy nights. But if you can get a table then the option of food is a must. The introduction of the new Mexican menu (Tues/Thurs-Sunday) is one to try and a recent Mexican Chorizo that I hope they keep on as a more permanent fixture to their menu… (please!!) The best review can only be an empty plate!! Wednesday is a Curry by Chris evening and booking is essential. (By the Tues beforehand) Quiz nights and live singers are always part of the timetable and a good laugh (even if we have not won, yet) And I haven’t even mentioned the cakes yet, keep an eye on their social media for what’s appearing that week, Luckily also available as take-a-way!! The owners and staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the beer and food they sell. We have always felt welcome swinging by “just for one” / “Two” / ok we will stop for food too…. Truth be told we pass by 4 pubs to get here.

As regulars, it was only a matter of time before we paid them a visit to try their new Mexican menu, and boy, it didn't disappoint. The food (as always) was amazing - so much so that we actually ordered twice 😋 😀. An amazing selection of drinks and such a warm welcome. We also played a couple of board games from the selection they have available for all to enjoy.

The staff are welcoming, the atmosphere is warm and the nachos were the best nachos I have ever had! I'm looking forward in trying the rest of the menu.

Stopped here on the way through and thought it was amazing. Staff were lovely and the food was gorgeous. Seems like they only pick the best quality and seems like a place that’s a real labour of love. So glad we stopped here. Had the meat platter and it was gorgeous!

When somewhere is local and on your doorstep it’s too easy to take it for granted. Our Local is just the most lovely friendly place. Chatting to fellow drinkers, eating delicious food, sampling different beers. All the staff are amazing, Laura and Paul have worked hard and their dedication shows . It’s one we want to keep for ourselves but equally it’s too good to keep secret. Tonight’s delight was the sharing board 😋

First visit to The Local yesterday at lunchtime and really enjoyed it! Lovely local business rather than a chain. The owners have created a great atmosphere and the staff we met were lovely. We had coffee, halloumi, sandwiches and snacks. The quality was excellent and good value. Will certainly visit again and also plan to visit in the evening as well

I cannot sing higher praises for this wonderful little gem. Paul and Laura and team are the ultimate hosts serving vast variety of locally sourced craft ales and spirits. Their food menu is small due to their small kitchen but all served and prepared to incredible standard! Laura is a sensational baker so her homemade treats are in high demand and sell out quickly. Just a truly wonderful little place run by lovely people who enjoy amazing beer!

This is a delightful little bistro. It has rustic charm combined with a European holiday vibe. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. I was visiting the wildlife park but if I lived better I would definitely visit regularly.

We live local and use the bar on a regular basis so it’s kind of forgotten to give them a review but we have got to say it is the most friendly bar you could wish for , the beers are very well kept and not your common or garden stuff and the food is to die for . Paul , Laura and the staff are super friendly and helpful. You would be hard pushed to find anywhere like this and we are so lucky to have the bar as our local

Booked a table and went one evening last week. First impression was uncertainty as was served a warm half of beer however, this was quickly resolved and replaced when brought to the attention of staff. We ordered some grazing boards and olives for sharing and these were tasty and good quality. The staff were attentive. Detail to safety procedures was apparent and felt comfortable sitting inside.

Being a big craft beer fan I found this place after trying to find some craft beers near to Yorkshire wildlife park. Very warm friendly service with some lovely beers on tap and a great selection in the fridge with plenty of options if not yet tried. Just wish there was a similar place down where I live

They were very slow with the food but I think there was only 1person on at one point. When we did eventually receive it, it was tasty. Must say the toilet skirting needs a good clean. They seemed busy with take away which is good but not for the bar.

Our party of five adults + a baby wanted a late lunch after visiting Yorkshire Wildlife Park. We found The Local at Branton on a Tripadviser search - what a gem! Such a friendly welcome and the food was delicious. We chose our food from the specials board & had a variety of wraps and Indian spiced chicken brioche sandwiches which were all cooked to order. Can also recommend the delicious hallumi fries! The sharing platter looked lovely too - maybe next time! Helpfully, they were also able to swap items to accommodate a food intolerance. We were just passing through, but it was good to see locals of all ages using this place - including a young family next to us who were playing board games. The owners are very friendly and clearly work hard to create a cosy atmosphere - we will certainly visit again next time we come to YWP.

What a lovely hidden place for lunch and a nice cheeky tipple. We shared the Dukkah dip, cured meat sharing board and roast pepper nachos. The food was so scrumptious and very fresh. Chap serving was really friendly and welcoming. Rioja was gorgeous. It was hard to tear ourselves away.

Afternoon tea for 3 - variety of lovely fresh sandwiches, delicious home-baked biscotti cake, freshly baked scones with clotted cream and conserve, brownies, Battenberg, macarons and pots of good tea. All delicious...and 'doggy bags' to take home! (In fact, someone (nameless!) had to unfasten her trousers' button on the way home!)Not my business tho' I have a family connection. But praise where praise is due.

The Local is in the next village to us. My wife and I had visited a couple of times under the previous ownership but weren't particularly keen because the place wasn't welcoming and lacked atmosphere largely because the young serving staff didn't know how to interact with their customers. The Local was taken over at the end of 2018 by Paul and Laura and they have transformed the place. They are attentive, very friendly and passionate about their work. The kitchen is small so it is a limited menu but the food is delicious. They have a wide range of beers on tap and the wine list is excellent and very reasonably priced. To add some variety they organise 'Kitchen Takeovers' when guest chefs come in for the day and prepare their own food so that the Local's regular customers can try something different. They also have live music nights with guest artists and 'open mic' nights when any aspiring Adeles or Ed Sheerans can come and give it a go.All in all a great find which is why my wife and I tend to go in once or twice a week.P.S. Nearly forgot. We tried the home made chocolate brownies the other day. They were the best I've ever eaten.

After living in the area for many years going to “samy samy “ pubs , discovering The Local Bar at Branton was a breath of fresh air ....it’s not quite a wine bar , pub or restaurant , it’s like all 3 mixed into 1 (best way I can describe it ) .

The sun was out so we decided to walk the 1.5miles to the Local Badger, we had been several times before but just for drinks, so this was our first visit for food. It was relatively busy so we first ordered a couple of coffees and took a few minutes to check the menu. A great range of wraps and platters were available....I went for the Burrito, with my wife choosing the Quesadillas. The food was fresh & tasty and filling.

Ive been trying to get a visit into the Local Badger for a while and me and my wife managed to get in there for lunch n Friday for my Birthday. All I can say is it was well worth the wait. The new owners are clearly very passionate about what they do and what they do is excellent food and a great selection of beers and gins. We had a lovely lunch and the service and quality were faultless I certainly won’t be leaving it as long before I make a return visit.
