Food so fresh and tasty and generous and affordable... in an atmosphere so chilled and friendly surrounded by colour and cosiness... what's not to love. Always my meal our go to for any occasion now :)

I've eaten here before and was lucky enough to book a table on a recent visit to see family. I'd forgotten how good it is! The food is amazing, the atmosphere welcoming and service helpful and friendly. My only disappointment is that its not in Manchester!

Returned to this fantastic Mexican cantina last night. The food is simply amazing; freshly prepared and really flavoursome. The burrito is an absolute must and so filling that the lovely American waitress is more than happy to wrap it for takeaway.

Visited with my two children. Service prompt and helpful, suggested trying different samples of salsa to gauge level of spice. Food fresh, delicious and plentiful. The atmosphere was relaxed and cheerful. Dan, Worthing

The food in here is worth a visit and the service was second to none. Maybe a little expensive for what it was (maybe due to the drinks bill) but I will return.

Lovely venue in Mexican style, very helpful staff to explain and recommend quantities fo food. Everything arrived quick and very tasty flavours Definitely worth a visit to try something out of the usual.

Wanted to find a place for my mother to eat as she is vegetarian. The choice of food was amazing. Everything we ordered was perfect. Despite it being Winter and was dark outside when we arrived the inside was brightly lit and warm. The Burritos we had were stuffed to the brim of wonderful fresh ingredients. Overall I would say as in the title I was blown away with how amazing this place is.

Wonderful first visit following several recommendations. We enjoyed several margaritas, crisp tortilla chips with dips, burritos (generous and fresh). Reasonable prices for such quality. Lovely, friendly service and a cosy ambience.

This is our new go to favourite place to eat. Amazing ambience, great food, great service. Linette is an absolute star and Mark, you deserve an award for the fresh, vibrant dishes and excellent value for money too. Only downside is you are only open 4 nights of the week but work life Balance is something we all champion. So just keep up the good work and we will keep on singing your praise!

Delicious. I have been here a few times and ordered something different everytime. It is always super fresh and tasty. The staff are always accommodating and friendly. Don't leave without having a margarita!

Came here with some VIP guest actors two weeks ago. Blown away by the freshly cooked food jam packed with favourite. Burritos were perfect as ever and went for the chipotle salsa which is hot but not too much. The black beans as a side or starter are superb. Went for a dessert which is unusual for me and was impressed by the delicate flavours. Service was faultless. As ever the best Mexican food in Town. You want find Rex mex style ready sauces here just good honest freshly cooked food made with love and care.

Delicious menu but we were hurried to order almost as soon as we sat down. The food came promptly, and was delicious and plentiful. The wrong dessert was brought out twice but this was credited at the end. Strangely, we were then left for a long time before the bill was suddenly presented. We had not been offered coffee and they had a lovely list of tequilas which we wanted to sample. It became clear that they had booked the table for a second sitting and wanted us to leave. This greed spoiled the entire experience for me and I won't be returning

Was unsure of menu at first as I don’t eat spicy food but it was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend for a different taste experience.

A truly hidden gem. Wonderful artisan feel about this restaurant. Wonderful simple vibrant relaxing decor. Had a very relaxing meal with my partner before the theatre at the Connaught which is only 5 minutes walk away. Excellent friendly customer service backed up by delicious food which is truly authentic South American cuisine.

A hidden gem in Worthing, great interior, music, service, attention to detail and good choice of food and drink. Would highly recommend - make sure you book in advance as it gets busy and we can see why

Enjoyed a meal here with our daughter who is dairy and gluten free, which wasn't a problem with vegan yoghurt as a substitute for soured cream. Booking is recommended. We ate early so it wasn't a problem, although busy atmosphere on a Friday. The pulled pork tacos were excellent and the meat well cooked and prepared. I'm not sure that halloumi burrito was to my taste though.

It's so small you might walk past without noticing, but you'd be missing a treat. Authentic Mexican food, great atmosphere and wonderful service from a waitress with a sense of humour that's very dry - just like the Margaritas. Packed on a Friday night and well worth booking in advance.

I always order far too much but it’s all so nice! I especially like the fact the menu is largely vegetarian and vegan- it’s unusual to be spoilt for choice.

We visited Salsa Viva on a rainy dark night with our son. The welcome we received was sunny and warm. Good selection of beers and very good cocktails. The nachos were delicious as were the tacos, quesadillas and burritos. We were too well fed for pudding. The service was friendly and great. Would definitely return if ever down Worthing way.

Congratulations to Lynnette and all her staff plus of course the chef owner for providing us with such lovely food and wine which we all thoroughly enjoyed.

The burrito was soooo nice, full of fresh ingredients that all go together so well. Definitely the best burrito I’ve ever had.

Second visit to the restaurant - both in big parties. Lovely warm welcome and attentive service. The food is simply delicious, authentic Mexican and so fresh. Great drinks menu with something for everyone. You need to book!

Dropped in on Friday at about 8 on the off chance of a table and was lucky enough to secure one for 9 pm. Arrived back at the appointed time and table was clean and ready for us. Food is fresh and very tasty!! The dips are also, I believe, freshly made. Loved the guacamole. The Hallumi starter was a wow with the female members of the group and I really liked the tortilla chips. Burritos and Tacos for mains went down well. Only criticism is I would we would have like more pulled pork as it was delicious. A great experience.

We found this place by accident last week and because we where so early(straight from work) we managed to get a table, the service is great and friendly the food delicious and fresh, we enjoyed it so much we went back this week and tried something different and it was amazing, highly recommend the tacos, try them all!

Busy, vibrant restaurant. Friendly service, amazing food, great price. What more could you want? We picked this restaurant from it's trip advisor reviews and it didn't disappoint. The tortilla chips were fresh from the fryer and the guacamole so fresh and full of zing. All I ask of restaurant food is that it is better than I can make at home.

I have been to this restaurant twice, once with my partner and another time with girlfriends. Both times I succumbed to the complulsively good tortillas with guacamole and the tacos - pork and beef short rib, with a side a sweet potato fries, and of course Margaritas - I had three last time. They are divine. If I could drink only one thing for ever it would be their Margaritas. I think the food here is amazing, and each time it has made me feel so surprised and happy. I dream often of when I can go next and I imagine the taste of the beef short tacos.

The food here is lovely and large portions! the tortillas chips are the best I've ever had, freshly made and served warm with homemade dips

We managed to book a table for four at fairly short notice, on a Thursday evening in August. We were lucky as we nabbed the last table in this small restaurant, which meant a great atmosphere. The service was fab - the lady who owned the place was really friendly, welcoming and accommodating. She even offered us doggy-bags to take home our left overs! The burritos and quesadillas were delicious! Worthing is lucky to have such a lovely restaurant. Please let us know if you open another one further north!!!

Party of seven all choosing different starters and mains - all served together, beautifully presented, piping hot and delicious. Great range of dishes, wines, beers and tequilas, all carefully researched. Excellent waitress with first class knowledge.Cool decor and tunes - and not overcrowded with tables. Mark (owner and chef) has found the perfect balance here.

Came here on a Wednesday night after a long drive from Peterborough.

Dining solo when away with work can be a bit awkward - but I had an amazing meal at Salsa Viva Cantina and was made to feel right at home. The welcome and service was just lovely, and with 3 courses and 2 margaritas for a smidgen over £30 you can’t go wrong! If you like spice, definitely try the habanero salsa, and the tacos are excellent.

This is an amazing place. We arrived here on a very warm evening and we were greeted with a lovely chilled glass of water. The place is lovely very bright and informal. I had the Quesadilla which were so tasty the best I've eaten full of flavour. Hubby had been tacos and he said they were the best ever. All food is cooked fresh and well worth the little wait

Food was tasty but for some reason it was only warm and not piping hot. Good selection of food on offer and menu was explained well. Service was efficient.

This place felt authentic. It did a relatively small number of dishes well. The service was good. The atmosphere was fun. The beer was local. The prices were reasonable. They had a good range of vegetarian options too. This independent, characterful restaurant is well worth a visit

Salsa Viva is a hidden gem in Worthing, starting out as an occasional pop up street food stand before they opened a small restaurant. The food has been researched by the chef in Mexico & is authentic & delicious street food. Booking is recommended as the venue is small, very popular & sensibly manages table demand with kitchen capacity.

We visited SVC yesterday for an early dinner and were blown away by the service, the quality of the food, the cocktails and the atmosphere.

We have been to this little gem of a restaurant many times. The food is freshly made and tastes amazing. The whole team are very helpful and friendly. We can't recommend this restaurant enough.

Had a great meal with friends. Restaurant was empty which we were told was unusual for a Wednesday eve, but we didn’t let this put us off.

Decided to pay this place a visit after a look on Google and I’m glad I did. Lovely atmosphere in a cosy but vibrantly decorated dining room, friendly and attentive staff, a menu boasting all of the classic Mexican street food dishes, and everything is freshly made to boot. Simply put, I had the best Mexican food I’d ever eaten. This is a restaurant not to be overlooked!

Fantastic flavours in a warm and friendly place. They went out of their way to explain their menu, so everyone in our party was able to taste everything. The chef even came out to speak to us afterwards. A small and colourful gem of a restaurant.

Best Mexican food I've had in the UK. Friendly staff, authentic menu and incredible food. The blue corn tortilla chips with the array of dips is brilliant. Definitely recommend paying an extra 90p for the Chipotle salsa. The tacos are fresh, filling and worth getting a selection if you're there with a few people. Also couldn't turn down a magarita and it didn't disappoint. Thanks for a fantastic meal - will definitely return

The waiting staff were very attentive, prompt and friendly, not often the case these days! The food was very well presented, tasty and had a different twist to other Mexicans that we have visited. Will definitely revisit.

I hired out this great little Mexican, for my birthday party. Mark and his team catered for around 25 of us. What can I say delicious food, wonderful atmosphere, and a lovely garden to sit in. Hospitality and friendliness coupled together with a professional style, made this a memorable day for us all. Highly recommended to anyone....

Came here last Saturday with my husband on our first date night post having a baby. Food was amazing! I am vegan and there were super yummy options for me, my husband is veggie and was also wet satisfied. Great beer and wine and a lovely atmosphere with a lovely waitress from North Dakota (didn’t catch her name!). Definitely would love to come back, we booked quite late and could only get in at 6.30 so would book more in advance next time. Deserves it’s no 1 rating!!

I came here with some work colleagues for my leaving do - we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening full of delicious food and drinks.

We have eaten at Salsa Viva two Saturdays in a row and have had two brilliant meals. The food is amazing and Lynette is the most gentle, advisory, warm, waitress I have ever encountered. 5 stars.

This is a small but beautifully run restaurant - brother & sister in the kitchen, and Lynette running front of house.

Small Mexican themed restaurant. With only a server and a cook, the service was surprisingly fast, the food is traditional Mexican fayre, burritos, salsa, tortilla and fillings. Portion size and presentation reasonable but something is missing. It takes more than Day of the Dead murals and Mexican hats hanging from the ceiling to make an authentic eating experience. Mexican street food vendors are just as good and far cheaper.

We had a girlie night out and found the restaurant to be small and cosy with a vibrant feel. The menu felt a little restricted on choice, however, you can tell why when the food is served.... it is PERFECTLY prepared, fresh ingredients and truly scrumptious.

Earlier today at roughly 5pm we went to this restaurant to check out their menu as we had seen there closing time clearly written on the door as 11pm. unfortunately they were not open yet and there was no menu in the window, undeterred we carried on with our plans for the evening, a night at the theatre, returning after at 9.40pm well in time for the restaurant closing hours. Upon entering we were looked at dismissively by a woman collecting payment from a couple, when she was finished and we asked for a table, she tapped her watch like a governess chastising her wards for being late. Saying oh no our kitchen closes at 9.30pm looking at us as if we were unwelcome simpletons for not knowing this. Firstly the time stated on the door is 11pm so why on earth would I expect the kitchen to be closed an hour and a half early on a Saturday night? Secondly we had been at the restaurant earlier and if this had been clearly indicated (perhaps next to the closing time on the door) we would not have tried to get food from them at the ungodly hour of 9.40pm !! After the fact we checked their website and they do make it clear they take last orders and 9.30pm , but as we were physically at the restaurant and saw the closing time it did not occur to us to double check this on their website as we had already seen online that they closed at 11pm. We are obviously strange people who do not want to rush down our food before the theatre but prefer to eat as they tend to on the continent after 9pm , but needless to say we will not return to be treated in this way again.

Small and quaint, lovely food and great friendly service. It was nice to go somewhere different to eat. Recommended. Oh and they serve delicious cocktails.

Went there with a large group for a birthday meal. The service and food were both really good and they were very organised considering how many of us there were. Really good restaurant, will definitely go back.

We arrived a little early as a large family party was leaving and were told by one of them that if our food was as good as theirs we were in for a treat which was encouraging.

Just WOW! Fresh, exquisitely flavoured food served at a medium pace by really friendly and helpful staff. Good choice of wines, with free tasting first, and excellent value for money. Will be back!

On a cinema trip to Worthing with our vegan friends, we were struggling a bit to find good food for them. Salsa Viva was a lucky find - we hadn’t looked at Trip Advisor (d’oh!). The food was varied and tasty, the drink selection was interesting in a good way, the welcome warm. Slightly similar to Wahaca (e.g. pork pibil tacos) but much more home-made. Definitely going back.

I have been here three times now and the service and food have been consistently excellent. The menu is varied and the food is very fresh, including the fresh salsa choices. There is a good amount of choice for vegetarians. Portions are large. The restaurant is small and cosy and very welcoming. Great service. Highly recommended - my favourite restaurant in Worthing!

The current number 1 restaurant in Worthing re. Trip Advisor meant we had to give it a go! It's a small cosy restaurant with some tables positioned "cosier" than others. Good if you can choose! The decor is vivid colour. The food is essentially authentic Mexican street food and is served more Tapas style than most Mexican restaurants with truly excellent flavours. The portions aren't huge and are priced accordingly! You probably wouldn't spend an entire evening there, but it's fun and different with friendly staff, we loved it!

Visited Salsa Viva Cantina here last night in a spur of the moment and not knowing what to expect! However, this was without a doubt he best Mexican food we all have eaten! The food was fresh and full of flavour, as well as us being 3 Vegan/Veggies, there was so much option for us to choose from. Which was exciting for us as usually we have to chop and change to get a meal in most places! Such a good menu to choose from and plenty of option for meat eaters too! 100% going back to try more dishes as we were told the owner was travelling back to Mexico to get more ideas for the menu! thank you for the lovely and welcoming service!

Came here last night for dinner with two friends. Had never been there before so was optimistic about options and what it would be like as I feel Mexican food is hard to get right. But, they have such a wide variety of food, especially vegan. The burritos and tacos were amazing. Great prices and a wonderful homely atmosphere. All the staff were so so friendly and gave us recommendations for food they thought we would enjoy based on what spices we liked. Was a great night and I'm so happy we went, will definitely be returning in the near future for some more delicious food!! 5* :)

We as a 4some try eat put once every two months. Someone always drops out. This was one of those nights lol.

Had our first visit this weekend and wow what a great place. Charming decor and a lovely atmosphere. The service was friendly and well paced with genuinely helpful menu advice. The food was just super. We're not local but we'll definitely go again when we're next in town.

Third time eating here with a different group of friends, never been disappointed. The food is fresh, and delicious and service excellent with knowledgable staff. Recommend booking in advance at weekends and you will be required to leave a deposit and pre-order your food for groups of 8 or more.
