The best restaurants serving Mediterranean food in England

As my husband turned 60 at the beginning of the month we decided to celebrate with 30 family members. Our obvious choice was Ephesus’s due to their location and always great standard of food. They went above and beyond our expectations!! The food was not only superb and plentiful but it was the service given by all staff involved. I can’t rate this highly enough and would 100% recommend

Myself and my partner have been coming here for almost 12 years and I loved the place however todays visit has left me feeling really angry and sad. I ordered the bolognese linguine and what arrived was spagetti bolognese cut into short strips of 5cm pasta. I dont know about you but i like to curl my pasta round my fork. I have been getting this dish for the last 12 years and have never been served this. I truly hate making complaints and so I tried to do it a nicely as possible. Firstly I was told that the spagetti I was served was indeed linguine and I had to order something else off the menu as any other lingine or spagetti dish was cut up small as well. I ordered lasagne and ate it politely even though it was not what I oredered. We even stayed for desert and more drinks and chatted with the owner. I made a point of thanking him for a lovely meal. However, when my partner went to pay I was ridiculed for making a complaint about the (not) linguine bolognese and my partner was told many times very loudly that he was not to marry me. I felt completely humiliated and left angry and hurt. I will not be returning here again which is very disappointing after enjoying this place for so many years.

Cute little place quite snug. Service is friendly but Eggs Benedict came with dried out muffin you could not fit into murdered bacon and poached eggs where rather well done, hollandaise is Alfredo straight out of the bottle. All in all a very disappointing breakfast

This place belies its size from the front, its like Doctor Who’s Tardis and is large, airy snd bright when you enter, with an enormous outside patio area for summer drinks/lunches. We had a sharing roast dinner which was enormous and gorgeous! Large piece of pork belly, beautifully cooked, s succulent thick slice of beef, just pink in the middle and slow roast lamb, that had the consistency of pulled pork and very tasty. A decent accompaniment of veg and gravy, the only thing letting it down was the lack of crackle on the crackling, but a good home made Yorkshire pudding. A risotto too, of a good size and tasty. Followed by ice cream and lemon pie. I would THOROUGHLY recommend eating here, the service was friendly and un-rushed.

I recently visited this spot and was pleasantly surprised by how good the shawarma was! The meat was perfectly seasoned, tender, and juicy, wrapped in soft, warm bread with just the right amount of sauce and fresh toppings. The flavors really hit the mark – authentic and satisfying. The staff was friendly and the service was quick, making the whole experience even better. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to when I’m craving shawarma again!

Very quiet at Friday lunchtime, we were the only ones until a loud vegan arrived, and unfortunately continued to yell about her veganism religion throughout the remainder of our meal. We had our usual at Persian restaurants: koobideh (minced lamb grilled on skewers) with their moreish garlic naan and the chicken (with bones) and rice. Our first visit but not our last.

Precioso restaurante en una capilla convertida, por lo que un espacio realmente interesante para comer. El shish de pollo es increíble - muy tierno. Botella de Prosecco con mejor relación calidad-precio que he encontrado hasta ahora en un restaurante en Bath. Realmente como el Meze y ser capaz de pedir un montón de platos pequeños a la mesa - algo para complacer a todos. El personal siempre es encantador también - el restaurante es a menudo tranquilo, así que los niveles de personal pueden ser bajos, lo que significa que puede tener que esperar si se pone ocupado, pero este es un restaurante donde la paciencia siempre se recompensa. Fab place surprised it isn’t busier - we had a lovely bottomless brunch today and it was excellent - lovely food (steak and eggs) alongside non stop drinks - uwe stayed on to have more cocktails - couldn’t have been a better atmosphere. Servers were great and fantastic food and drink! What more could you ask for! This place should be busier!!

Only chicken gyros was available despite having a large good sounding menu. We decided to go for it what a mistake 🤮 I love salty food but the meat was ridiculously over salted. The deal was advertised at £4 for any wrap yet our two wraps cost £11? Red cabbage was as if it had been cut with a chainsaw, bread fell to bits as soon as I picked it up. The tries in the wrap had been hot held for such a long time that they were chewy. Chicken gyros is a simple concept, never imagined Some one could do such a bad job, never going back

Hidden gem in Halton View everything was fantastic. Atmosphere, Staff food and drink The meats are cooked to perfection tasty tender and so juicy the rice was gorgeous and all the accompements breads salads sauce was fresh and tasty Definitely recommend

First visit to Harrogate recently and we ate here. Tasty filling food at a decent price, good service and a lovely interior.
