The best restaurants serving Mediterranean food in South East

We are on holiday in Eastbourne and stumbled across this delightful little Greek restaurant. Having booked a table we were greeted with enthusiasm and the food was excellent. If we come to Eastbourne again we would definitely visit again.

I had an amazing experience dining with my friends at a restaurant with a wonderful ambiance. The staff was kind and friendly, and the owner was particularly welcoming, helping us choose our meals. He also offered a great selection of wine. The food was delicious; we enjoyed a mixed meze platter and steak. I highly recommend trying their homemade baklava!.

A MUST GO!!!! Amazing authentic Portuguese food! The best rice I’ve ever had in my life and it’s not an exaggeration; so good I get a portion just to myself. Portions for prices are amazing, chicken is perfect with lots of flavour. Also included a little shop inside with local Portuguese ingredients and snacks. Every bite brings me back to my years in Portugal, most definitely recommend everyone to come here for amazing with the kindest of owners who give the best service! 🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹

Superb service to accompany fabulous food. From the complimentary bread, to the Turkish Tea, my meal and service was brilliant. I would highly recommend Sultans to anyone. Thank you for an excellent meal and a better all round experience.

It was difficult to say WHEN we came because we visit OFTEN. Sotirio’s is our fave go-to place to eat. Where else could you walk in, be immediately enveloped in a cocoon of friendliness and care, seated and served with the most delicious food? We love you Sotirio’s. Roll on the next time.

Absolutely fantastic place, it felt as being in abroad. The food was full of flavours, a joy with every mouthful, and portions were generous. Totally recommend it.

Was pretty excited to come here after seeing so many great reviews. Food was nice, the mains were gorgeous. Chef is lovely and asked how we found the food, clearly is very talented. The brownie dessert was heated up but possibly too long as it was quite chewy and tough suggesting it’s been over heated. Let down by the service front of house sadly, didn’t feel very welcomed or very friendly and I felt uncomfortable at times. Not sure if it was just an ‘off’ night.

I’d been wanting to try it for a while, and finally went last night—and it did not disappoint. We sat by the lovely open windows, and the beautiful décor made us feel like we were on a Mediterranean getaway. We started with the whitebait and halloumi—both were amazing! For mains, we had the moussaka and ginger chicken—superb dishes, packed with flavour. And the desserts? The limoncello and Ferrero Rocher mousse were simply gorgeous. Honestly, everything about this place makes you want to come back. I can’t fault a single thing. They truly deserve all the passing trade they can get, and locals should absolutely support them whenever they can!!

Excellent food prepared in full view of the restaurant backed up with first class service. Five of us visited. We ordered 8 dishes varying from vegetarian to meat and fish. All were beautifully presented and delicious. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Even commenting on the good food the following day. Good value and highly recommended.

The food and service is just outstanding! Papa George made us sooooo welcoming. You can clearly see that this place is his passion and he puts all his heart to make you enjoy the time and the food. Wow, what an amazing night at Casa Zilli. The food was wonderful, in particular the steak was melt in your mouth gorgeous!! Nikki & her front of house team provided exceptional service, the attention to detail was second to none. Aldo & his team cooked us the most amazing food. We didn’t want to be rushed as this was a birthday celebration. I spoke to Nikki before we arrived & she ensured we had big gaps between courses so we could enjoy our evening. Overall the evening was just perfect & I can’t recommend Casa Zilli highly enough.

A fabulous cafe, by far my favourite in the area. Great meals and a lovely place to sit. Lots of choice and cakes you won't be able to resist.

Thoroughly enjoyed my meal out. Food fresh, very tasty and plentiful. Service excellent. Saw me using fork to pass over some couscous to my husband and before I knew it they had noticed and brought me a spoon. I had dropped some couscous off my fork onto table and suddenly we were brought a plate with extra couscous. Would definitely return if in the area.
