The best restaurants serving Mediterranean food in North West

Never had Spanish Tapas, but eyes were well and truly opened.. food was great, I was driving, but wifes Sangria jug was "muy bueno".. Meatballs were my favourite, but again, tuned in to Chorizo ... wow... great night, won't be strangers

I took my family today for the first time to have a meal at this new restaurant, I have been watching out for it to be opened which it did two weeks ago, it appeared over the last two weeks to be extremely busy so we decided to go this quiet Tuesday evening And I’m very pleased we went, to start with, the service was absolutely first class, I knew what food I wanted to order, we ordered some wonderful starters, very generous portions, the main course, which was typical Greek and thoroughly enjoyable also very generous, throughout the experience the staff Were visiting and asking if we wanted any thing or if any further food was required, they were so sweet and very welcoming extremely Greek style way of generosity, I think we will go again, I definitely recommend this nice restaurant, I have left some photos to check out what we have eaten. Bottom line, it’s first class.

What a beautiful restaurant in Windermere, first time here and will absolutely be returning. Staff are lovely, quick service and beautiful greek environment. Food was fantastic and very big portions - well done to the staff at OPA possibly family run business (it had that feel anyway)

5/5 9TH APRIL 2025 Wandering Wednesday’ this week took Hubby Neil and I to an eatery where we have not been to previously. We ventured into Town to a Bistro called ‘Sakan’ on Sankey St. The restaurant was pristine and our server was a lady named Aneta, this lady was lovely and smiley, very polite, friendly and professional….. It wasn’t too busy at the time we dined there so food waiting time was literally cooking time. We both ordered the same which was Eggs Benedict and steak…. This was layered up with….. Two toasted muffins, finely chopped tomatoes and white onion…… sliced medium rare lean steak, with two poached eggs, smothered in silky Hollandaise sauce, garnished with cress, Nigella seeds, black pepper, the plate was drizzled with chilli mayo with added pearls of tiny biquinho sweet peppers…..this was accompanied with a dish of lightly salted crispy potatoes…. This whole dish was SO PERFECT, I didn’t want it to end… I’ve never had Eggs Benedict before but I’ll never forget the first restaurant I tried it in……. We both said that this is probably the best restaurant we’ve been to yet on Wandering Wednesdays. Massive compliments to the Chef, whose name is Pawel…..Who has a gift in cooking…. Fault could not be found at all, it was totally delicious. SIMPLY PERFECT and thank you. This place is a definite MUST TRY…. It goes without asking if we’ll be back!….. P.s……Happy birthday Chef Pawel🥳🥳🥳🥳…. Please note: if paying via card, tips cannot be added to the bill, so please take some cash as a kind tip gesture for the staff.

Totalmente excepcional. .. fuimos a comer el domingo y nos quedamos boquiabiertos. A primera vista, dos entrantes tradicionales e iguales para la red, pero elevados a un buen nivel gastronómico no común en esta zona. Todo sobre nuestra experiencia fue de primera categoría. Comí mejillones y carne asada, mi esposa comió cóctel de gambas y pollo. La comida, las bebidas, el servicio y el ambiente eran excelentes. Venimos aquí con bastante frecuencia, así que estábamos esperando cosas buenas en nuestra primera experiencia de almuerzo del domingo, pero aún así, nos sorprendió muy gratamente. No puedo recomendar este lugar lo suficientemente alto. . . .

Went for a breakfast here on Thursday morning last week. The food was excellent and service also excellent. Highly recommend, will be back.

La comida en este restaurante era auténtica, deliciosa y fresca. El servicio era excelente y el precio era razonable. Recomiendo encarecidamente este restaurante. Estuve visitando Manchester desde Brighton para pasar la noche con mi marido y nos encontramos con él en mis viajes y tan contentos que lo hicimos. Nos encanta la comida turca y la comida servida en este restaurante tenía un sabor muy tradicional y sabroso. El personal era muy acogedor y atento. Sin duda volvería allí de nuevo.

So happy to find a good quality Turkish on our doorstep!!! Our new favourite restaurant! Very enjoyable meal, good quality food, very flavoursome and excellent service. Just an overall very enjoyable experience! Can’t wait to come again, Thankyou

Very average. Most of the dishes were really stodgy. Service was poor. Wouldn’t go back. Was a shame considering the reviews on here.

We enjoyed a really nice meal here. The food was the nicest Turkish food we have eaten outside of Turkey. Would recommend and will definitely return.

Fuimos a La Finca por última vez para nuestra primera visita. Acabamos de tomar las tapas x 3 por 22 libras y un tazón de aceitunas. La comida era excelente, así como el vino tinto que pedimos. El lugar en sí tiene una sensación encantadora y acogedora con muebles suaves y cubículos románticos El restaurante está arriba, con un bar abajo y una bodega en el sótano. El personal era muy amable y el menú tenía un precio razonable. Ya hemos reservado para mi cumpleaños especial en unos meses. Si quieres reservar una mesa te sugiero que llames directamente al restaurante ya que la reserva en línea utiliza el sistema de reserva Resdiary, que es difícil de navegar y no es fácil. Déjame confirmar la reserva. He tenido problemas con este sistema reservando otros restaurantes.

Food was great but we felt sorry for the friendly young waitress that didn’t really know the menu or wines. Seems like she doesn’t get support from the manager who tried to clear our plates even though we were still eating. The place was empty but they turned away a couple saying they were full. Excellent food let down by atmosphere and staff training.
