The best restaurants serving Mediterranean food in Epping Forest East of England

Lovely Turkish restaurant, this is our favourite one so far!! Food is amazing, service is really good!! I ordered grilled mushrooms and the salmon fillet. My boyfriend ordered crispy battered prawns and chicken shish. He loved it!! I tried a bit of his chicken, tastes so good!!!!! Rice is soft, the salad is flavoursome and the salmon is beautiful!! We are 100% coming back here!!

Had a fabulous meal to celebrate my dad’s birthday. It wasn’t the first time we’ve visited but we keep coming back because the food and service are so fantastic. We had starters which are incredibly well presented and of good proportion. We all then had mains which were absolutely delish. You can’t go wrong with the mixed shish, herb crusted salmon, octopus, giant prawns or mixed fish grill. All of really high standard. We then had tiramisu for dessert which was also of an excellent. Added bonus is the cocktails are good too! This really is a gem of a restaurant with courteous and efficient staff. We will be back as soon as possible.

The food was absolutely amazing, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I went there with my friends for a meal, and we all loved it. The welcoming atmosphere, along with the hospitality of the staff, made our experience even better. The food was perfectly cooked and delicious, and we especially enjoyed the starters. It’s definitely a place worth visiting again!

Thoroughly enjoyed my evening here! The staff were very welcoming and had good recommendations. The food was delicious, meat cooked perfectly, tasty and tender. The staff even bought out a birthday dessert without us asking as they had just noticed the presents on the table! Such a lovely thought.

We very much enjoyed our lamb cotelets with a special salad and the vegeterien dish. This was Turkish hospitality at his best. We enjoyed the special service and the friendly smile and the attentive service. We wish the team a successful 2025!

Called here with a view to lunch to find it is now (end Aug) a smart looking Tandoori/Curry restaurant. We weren't looking for a curry lunch so did not stop.

I can’t write a review on Turkwise as it is no longer in Ongar it is now a wine bar Turkwise has not been in Ongar for a good six months

Roza used to be our favourite Turkish. However it has gone downhill in recent times. Our last two orders have had missing items. We ordered the filo parcels for £6.50 I would expect more than three, it never come with the sweet chilli sauce. My chocolate brownie dessert was the smallest slither and came without ice cream. Again, for £6.50 I would expect much more. All the hot food and bread was stone cold. We didn’t receive a large pot of garlic sauce we paid extra for. We were told it would be around 40-50minutes, it turned up 20minutes later than that. All in all a very disappointing experience, cold food, long wait, over priced, missing multiple items, poor quality control or care.

If you like a poached egg please try the eggs champignon: perfectly poached atop a bed of mushrooms and a muffin. Just the right amount of hollandaise to complete a simple but delicious brunch.

Weekend bit too pricey but weekdays is amazing, happy hour was the best. And set menu food was delicious. Definitely visiting from Mon to Fri is well worth the 💰

I'm surprised there aren't any more recent reviews of this place because the standard overall was pretty good, and there was no sign of any of the things cited by the negative reviews from last year. This venue has clearly found a niche in catering for the late night dinner-dance crowd, with live music and dancing in Friday and Saturday nights. I was here for a family birthday, although there were multiple other groups in attendance, all enjoying the lively atmosphere, which at its height was very much like a nightclub - very loud, quite dark and at times a little crowded on the dancefloor. But we enjoyed a nice meal of mediterranean salad and grilled meats and there was plenty to go around. It was a bit chaotic as we were a party of around 30 people, with different tables served at different times. But the staff coped very well, I thought, and were very helpful and courteous throughout. Overall, a very enjoyable evening.

Had a mixed Shish the chicken was dry and lamb was just lumps of fat. Very expensive for what you get. Although the staff were very good. This was a very large family event and all 8 tables were charged extortionate service fee and it total that came to £280 an absolute joke when we only had 2 servers. It took them over an hour for us to all pay as there was items on the bills that we didn’t get and unfortunately we decided just to pay and get out. But most certainly will not be returning.

Best in town.. we are ordering every day for lunch , service its best,delivery fast, food good quality .... no complaints 👌
