Popped in on a Sunday evening without a booking. Welcomed warmly into the restaurant. Great food and general ambience to the place, decent wines and great service. Look forward to visiting again.

Me and my partner love this place and visit very often - the best Turkish restaurant in Buckhurst Hill and the surrounding area in terms of food, just delicious. Every dish is just unreal - the creamy mushrooms and sigara boregi are my favourite starters and the meat for mains is always succulent and juicy. The staff are lovely and very attentive and go above and beyond to ensure everything is ok and that’s you’re well looked after. Couldn’t recommend this place enough.

On arrival, we were delighted that they had a live singer performing who was extremely good. The restaurant was probably 2 thirds full and had a great atmosphere. The waiters were very friendly and attentive. Just a nod would see them come over to ask what you'd like. The food was excellent, really tasty and there was plenty to choose from on the menu. I thought the bill was very reasonable considering the restaurant's location, quality of food and high level of service.

The food and service were good and prices were reasonable. However, the music was far too loud and màde conversation difficult at times.

First time here! Not overly busy - food wasn't bad but like all Turkish restaurants far too much flatbread and salad! Only one dish we didn't like which wasn't bad considering we didn't have much idea of what we were ordering! Bit expensive but that'll be the wine! Would return - service ok

Visiting on business trip and decided to try this restaurant out. The food was good but there was a lack of engagement from staff, we are used to excellent customer service from other local restaurants. We were offered water and accepted but believed this was complimentary due to how it was offered, we were astonished to find out we had been charged around £5. It should have been made clear that there was a charge for this. The food,albeit good, took a while to arrive with little interaction from the staff who appeared to be chatting amongst themselves. We were further shocked and surprised by the service charge on the bill. This is not so.ething we are used to or have experienced before, as I say, we are visiting on business. I have since learned that this is optional and we could have refused it but this was not made clear and we felt forced to pay it. All in all this visit left us feeling somewhat disappointed and underwhelmed. Please be more clear with what is being charged for and the options to those expected to pay!

My family loves this place very much, 5+ for the best cocktails and grilled meat, the prices are normal, we also order takeaway food, they bring everything fresh and hot

We were here a couple days ago with my family, and we had the most amazing time! The staff were friendly, attentive, and most importantly were welcoming! The food was amazing, I had the lamb shish and that was one of the best lamb shishes I’ve ever had, will deffo come back again! The atmosphere was excellent, will be back again.

Booked a family party at Gosht and sadly none of the party were impressed. 1. Felt pressurised to leave the restaurant by a certain time to make room for another party. Was reminded of this several times which was rude and not very welcoming. 2. Lamb shanks were tough, fatty, flavourless and chewy 3. Asked for a lime cordial which is on the drinks menu and was served a small milk jug with neat lime cordial, had to ask for some water to go with it! 4. Limited interaction from the staff. No check on whether we needed drinks or whether anyone has allergies. Staff spent a lot of time hanging around the bar rather than checking in on their guests. Staff looked very fed up with no warmth. 5. Hugely overcharged for service at 12.5% 6. No Turkish tea, no Turkish music, stale ambience for a Saturday night 7. Food was Ok but had much better Definitely will not be recommending or returning again. Very disappointed.

We had the set-price lunch, which in addition to being very reasonably priced, was delicious and well-presented, with very generous portions. We will be back!

Fantastic customer service, tasty food, brilliant ambiance and very attentive polite staff. The manager and staff will make every effort to make your visit simply the best. Cuisine is amazing such a wide choice of menu and reasonable too. The presentation is of a very high standard!, always served piping hot with fresh ingredients. Week days the lunch menu is great affordable and half price cocktails are available. Customer service is professional and the restaurant has a great atmosphere, look out for the evening entertainment which would make any celebration the perfect evening . When I have been here with friends we seem to go lunch time then we end up staying until they almost close . 🤣 Buckhurst Hill station on the central line is just a few minutes walk away. I highly recommend this restaurant go once and you will return with your family and more friends many times.

I walked into gosht last night I was welcomed nicely and asked if they do take away a they did I had a chicken sheesh it came with a deli Ouse salad very tasty rice and pitta bread and 2 sauces it was so delicious that I had to write this review well done gosht it was very good tender chicken and the salad with th red cabbage and the dressing was excellent and it was worth every penny if £12.99

I came here on spec as the hotel I was staying at didn't have a restaurant, and I am so pleased I did. Nice atmosphere and delicious food. If anything, almost too much, having been given a complimentary bowl of hummus and bread. If I'd eaten it all, there's no way I would have finished my main course. Would I come back here again? Definitely.

Have tried a few Turkish takeaways over lockdown and have been very disappointed. Was delighted when gosht reopened. Food was hot, perfectly cooked and arrived on time. Everything was fresh and lots of garlic and chilli sauce. This isn't a takeaway we could have every week, unfortunately, but as a treat this is our favourite. Lamb in particular was beautiful and a huge amount of bread, still dipping in the garlic sauce today!

We hadn't been here for about 8 months, our last visit was on a quiet and leisurely Sunday afternoon in our little part of Buckhurst Hill.Today we both fancied something warm and spicy on a miserably cold Monday evening. Gosht never fails to disappoint. Very attentive service, simple menu with some firm favourites a decent wine list and some good mocktails for me (the alcoholic). It's been really good and very hard to beat when you're in the mood for (as I was) spiced grilled fresh chicken, brilliant rice and a very decent and delicious salad! The height of commendability! Honestly. Thank you Gosht!

This was the first time we had visited Gosht and it was a very enjoyable evening. It was a Saturday night so it was understandably busy. There is plenty of choice on the menu although the online menu differs slightly from the actual menu i.e steak was not on the actual menu but was online. We did have quite a bit of a wait between our starters and mains, but wasn't too much of a problem. Don't get me wrong, the food isn't michelin star, but it was very tasty and I would certainly visit again.

Went to this restaurant today. Looking for somewhere for lunch. Very clean, nice surroundings and the food was excellent. The waiter was attentive and really nice. Best chicken burger ever. Nice touch with a bowl of olive and tomato dip with I think was fried pita bread. The Turkish delight at the end of the meal was amazing.

Visited this restaurant with a group of friends just before Christmas. The atmosphere was great very buzzy, beautiful decor and comfortable seating. The meal was a little disappointing, it was one of those meals you have where you say I could have cooked this better at home. The service was good and it would have been nice to go back with my husband as we live nearby, but the food is just not up to scratch, shame really.

If I'm honest I was slightly confused by all the raving reviews about this place.The service was great. Very friendly and attentive. They had a decent wine list at reasonable prices, and had one of my Turkish favourites (picture attached).The food looked mouth watering but ended up being a disappointment, it just didn't pack that flavoursome punch Im used to getting with Turkish food.There was one stand out dish and that was the Hummus with the lamb starter. One other issue albeit minor were the toilets. I'd expect something on par with the restaurant and not toilets that felt like ones you'd find in a pub. I would come here again... But not anytime soon.

Gosht has been a local favourite of mine for awhile as it never disappoints. Decided to bring my mum & daughter today for a lunch time treat.Both were very impressed & my fussy 9 year old asked if she could eat there every day & could I give her £2 to leave as a tip, which she would pay me back out of her pocket money! The lunch deal is great as the quality of the food is superb & the portions good! Not like some places who do smaller portions for cheaper lunch menus. Staff accommodating & provide good, friendly service. Special mention that the Baklava is home made & was sublime. 4 pieces with a scoop of ice cream. I shared a plate with my mum but she said she could have easily polished off the whole plate as they were so good!

Booked after seeing the good reviews but I can honestly say we must have been in a different restaurant or was just unlucky! Waiting staff were inexperienced and could not answer questions without checking with a manager, that was fine but.....our food was poor. Some starters honestly felt like they could have been from a frozen party food bag. Lamb Shish was completely fatty and tough. Partner asked for ketchup for chips, got some old bottles of Heinz plonked on table. Waiting staff all in scruffy trainers and very oversized waistcoats. This place was just so strange.

My friend and l had dinner here about 4 weeks ago.The food was tasty, they do great cocktails and the service did not feel rushed. Had 3 course meal, no complaints at all. There was live music which was a bonus. Would potentually go back again in future however l like to try different restaurants each time l eat out.

We have only had a takeaway/delivery must say we have only ordered at very busy times i,e 20:00 Saturday night. Both times we were told that the meal may take 40 mins to be delivered which is unbelievably quick on a Saturday night. But delivered in less time than this.

Five stars for every aspect, friendly staff delicious food and good atmosphere, would rate this place higher if I could. Been here a lot and never had a single piece of criticism. Ozzy and Ibo are outstanding.

My Starter was completely over cooked and burnt. Although my Grilled Salmon was good, the salad needed a lot to be desired, and they served Chinese veg - Very peculiar. Long wait for the food, which on a 2 parking hour meter wasn’t very enjoyable. Unfortunately the Creme Brûlée was still a bit frozen. There wasn’t any Turkish tea, which in a Turkish restaurant is very strange.

We eat at Gosht several times a week and can’t recommend enough. The food is fantastic. The staff are amazing, especially Ozzy and Ibo. They really go out of their way to help. Great value too You really have to try it.

The owner and staff are all extremely personable and friendly. The set lunch is excellent value for money and great quality. We love the falafel, prawns, and stuffed aubergine. The accompanying salad is always lovely and very fresh The house red wine is excellent value for money as is the red Italian and both very drinkable. It is head and shoulders better than most Turkish restaurants

As we know, there is a Turkish restaurant on every street corner at the moment, however this stands out from the others. We are early and were greeted warmly. The waiter that served us was a good guy and really helpful and attentive. The menu was extensive and included the usual favourites along with some really great dishes I’ve not come across before. All the food was presented well and tasted great. The only issue is had was the fact that I ate too much! Highly recommend.

Over priced food for what is on offer, the service is good but too full on. Unfortunately for people who do not want to eat meat do not go there, the veg options are so poorly made and came to me soggy and under cooked. Upon complaining I still had to pay.

It was our first time at this restaurant and will not be the last. Food was very nicely cooked and presented, the chef special prawns were outstanding. Visited this restaurant tonight with 3 friends. Food was delicious and the full of flavour. We shared some starters Humous and Halloumi, Followed by dinner. I had the lamb chops, cooked to perfection, tasty tender chops. Will definitely go back again soon. Good value - great quality food.

1st time here, was not impressed really. Waited ages for our food and drinks. We had young children with us too, took nearly an hour to arrive, so the children were more tired than hungry by the time it arrived. Food was ok, had better but was edible, maybe it was the wait. Waiters were pleasant. Wouldn't rush back though.

I didn't go to the restaurant, we had takeaway and on the strength of that I will definitely be going there. We ordered chicken shish with salad and chicken casserole and a side order of sweet potato fries (my husband thought I looked hungry) - it was amazingly! Generous portions, lovely and fresh, the salad was spicy and refreshing and went well with the shish - the fries were not necessary but were excellent. Delivery was super quick (I live within a mile). We will be ordering again!

Just had a meal at Gosht ( Buckhurst Hill ) with my grand-daughter and OMG , the service was Excellent , they were so attentive ,polite , pleasant and quick. Then the food, came out and was absolutely Out of this world. I had Lamb Shish the rice was cooked to perfection , the salad was seasoned and dressing yum yum but the Lamb tender and cooked and seasoned so well. My Gran-daughter had the home made beef burger she loved it ,It was good as i tried a bit of hers. Excellent . Well done.

Arrived around 9pm on a Wednesday and were quickly seated. Both myself and my colleague has the mixed meat main and I can honestly say it was one of the best meals I had ever eaten. All the flavors were so fresh and balanced and the food plentiful.

Initial impression of GOSHT was very good, nice modern decoration. Early criticism was a lack of beer, I expect Turkish beer in a Turkish restaurant, however, the alternatives to Efes were all continental lagers. Not a single English Ale available in England. Starters were OK, nothing special. The mains was where the problems started to manifest. The mix seafood ordered both my wife and her friend were just monkfish. The vegetables on all of our dishes (four of us) had a distinct chinese flavour. Given all the other glowing review GOSHT has received, this may be an aberration

There is such a big choice of Turkish restaurants in our area and they have to be good to stay in business. Starters were very good but I had the fish and wasn’t a good choice as it was over cooked and dry. However my friends choices were better and they enjoyed there meals. Will give it another try but will stay clear of the fish.

There's a plethora of "Mediterranean" (i.e. Turkish Mezze) restaurants in the Woodford/Buckhurst Hill/Loughton area and that not such a a bad thing given the freshness of the food and the spice palate on offer. Gosht stands out for its excellent takeaway offering and - given that its located in the premises of the original, genre-leading Sheesh - its not a bad room to spend the evening in either.

Just had a great takeaway from Gosht. The chicken was tender and tasty. The rice and side dishes were flavourful. Delicious bread.

My husband and I had a lovely dinner at Gosht last night. We had hummus and halloumi to start with, both very good! We then ordered 2 Adana for main but unfortunately the waiter told us that the kitchen has ran out of lamb (which isn’t impressive given it was 9pm on a Sat night) but both the waiter and the manager apologised and offered us coffee and a delicious baklava for dessert as an apology.

Visited Gosht a few times before, came back for dinner with my sister. The food was delicious before but i must say it tasted even better this time, keep up the good work! i had the 'oh my gosht' mixed grill, so delicious, the best kebab I've had, my sister had gosht lamb fillet, you guys honestly know the job. the manager eebo is lovely and very friendly made us feel very welcomed as always. This was my second visit here. Came previously for dinner and now tried the lunch menu. What stands out here more than the other local Turkish/Meze restaurants Is the very hospitable service. They seem to really care. Food is good quality also even though very large portions. Cocktails were lovely and good wine list also and very reasonably priced I must say compared to some of the others. The only problem if you go when not busy can lack a bit of atmosphere but a good local restaurant.
