Called here with a view to lunch to find it is now (end Aug) a smart looking Tandoori/Curry restaurant. We weren't looking for a curry lunch so did not stop.

He estado en este restaurante desde que abrió la noche que creo que eran dos o tres años. La noche de la apertura, si mi memoria no me falla me dio una sensación incómoda, pero no particularmente displicente no parecía justo, la comida que no era mucho de lo que hablar y caros.

Así que hicimos la visita regular mensual para esta pequeña joya de restaurante. El hecho de que está. 5 minutos a pie de nuestra casa no es el factor clave. La comida es maravillosa y el servicio es fantástico. Como siempre nos acomodó a la máxima expresión. Nunca nos dijeron qué prisa, siempre frescos y beta plato del día. Un lugar increíble, el servicio y la comida mejor en el triángulo dorado.

Ambiente muy confortable con música apropiada de fondo. El menú es Mediterráneo sabor y la comida es deliciosa y abundante. Sólo tuvimos un entrante y plato principal y nos completa. El servicio es bueno y amable, sin ser demasiado intrusivo. Disfrutamos de una noche muy agradable.

He revisado Adelfia antes, en febrero de 2016, pero sus tan lejos de cualquier competencia local seguimos yendo durante la fresca, deliciosa comida, cócteles de calidad superior y un servicio eficiente y amable. En efecto corto de gratuidad (! Es muy difícil) identificar nada malo que ofrece el propietario de alfi.

Reservamos muy tarde para un grupo de 6 un sábado por la noche. El restaurante estaba lleno, pero no nos abarrotada. Había un ambiente muy bueno, con un personal amable y servicial y eficiente. No nos apuraron y tuvimos una velada muy agradable.

Mesa para 12. Personal amable, agradable bienvenida. El restaurante tiene una decoración agradable, limpio y bien cuidado.

This restaurant is very nice and the staff are friendly and work hard. We went here because the reviews were so good, but found it to be quite expensive, and the food not as great as the reviews suggest.

Called here for a birthday meal and wasn’t disappointed in any way.We were made to feel welcome from the start and the waiting staff were very attentive whilst ensuring you never felt rushed in your meal. If you want a quick in and out meal then this isn’t the place as you are left time between courses to savour your food which I find a pleasant change nowadays.The food choices are ample and makes choosing difficult with a number of dishes taking our fancy. My partner is vegetarian and it is a pleasant surprise when she has more than one option to choose from. We opted for Grilled halloumi and the prawn and chorizo for starters.Vegetarian moussaka and Paidakia lamb cutlets for mainBaklava and Greek Yoghurt for dessertEach dish was cooked to perfection, generous in their portion sizes and beautifully presented. will not hesitate to eat here again

Adelfia really is a wonderful restaurant. The food is very fresh and tasty! I am a vegan and get catered for! My partner loves the meat dishes! The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to insure you have a great experience! Definitely one of the best restaurants in the Area!

Went here on a Saturday night so it was reasonably busy but not full. Our starters came fairly promptly, but then we had to wait for more than half an hour for our main course. When we inquired of the waiter he was abrupt in his response. There was no apology for the delay. We all enjoyed our food but it felt as if things were being drawn out in the hope that we would order more wine. There are restaurants in the area with better service, so I wont be rushing back

I came here one Friday night with my wife to try a new place.We booked in advance although the place didn't get busy during the night with several empty tables but apparently it is normally busy.My wife chose Mediterranean Chicken and myself Beef Moussaka, which were cooked perfectly and very tasty. We really liked the dishes and they were big enough to be full up with a starter.We will definitely come back soon.

Having eaten here in December.I can highly recommend this restaurant. The food is divine,the wine selection good and the service is excellent!!! I think its the best restaurant in the area!! I will be returning here regularly!

Went for a meal on Saturday night to celebrate my recent (early) retirement. Really nice ambience and staff very friendly but not obtrusive either. Three of us had the mixed grill, and my wife had sea bass; all were really good as were the starters and deserts. The Adelphia seem to have got it just right - we'll certainly be returning again!

Had a lovely evening here. The staff are excellent, food is fab and they have a great Friday 3 course menu that comes with wine, so also great value for money. Mediterranean food with many classics like moussaka, stifado, kleftiko, souvlaki, baklava etc all good!!

I finally visited here with my partner after hearing so many good things and came away impressed. It is a tad expensive, but that is common place given the area. The starters and mains were superbly cooked and the wine list was extensive. I very much look forward to attending again in the near future.

Just returned from another fabulous meal at Adelfia. This restaurant is such a favourite of mine now and tonight it seemed very busy so I'm pleased that other people are realising how great it is. The food is always divine and the staff are lovely and helpful. Me and my friend both wanted the giant prawns tonight but unfortunately there was only one serving left. I had the prawns, which as always, were delicious. My friend had the lamb and she said that it was very well cooked and the flavour was fantastic. Adelfia really is a gem!

As good as any michelin star restaurant without the high prices.Wonderful good food and service in a beautiful petite stylish restaurant.Good sized main courses, they also do a 3 course mid week with wine set menu for £19.95 but please do call and ask as I don't know how long this great deal will go on for with Christmas coming up.If your driving you will find a car park on your left with the restaurant opposite on the right. Buckhurst hill station is right at the bottom of the road.They open at 5pm on some nights.

We were staying in the Premier Inn around the corner and couldn't face the thought of another evening in the adjoining Toby so came around the corner and found this lovely restaurant. The menu is mainly Greek in nature but with added touches and the food is excellent. Add in nice friendly service and you have a restaurant to be highly recommended. Please do try it.

Friendly, beautifully decorated, food is excellent and always fresh. Staff bend over backwards to accommodate any of your requirements. Wine is superb. I really love the white table linen the atmosphere is wonderful. I think they are not busy as it is not obvious it is a restaurant so people do not think of going there, but I highly recommend you give it a try. We go every week it is our favorite place.Portions are really big and the food is what we would call Mediterranean, there is some Greek and some Mediterranean - all of it excellent. My husband captured it by saying Mediterranean fusion. They always remember you and know what you like.

Visited this restaurant last night for the first time. I was quite surprised at how small the menu choices were and that a few dishes that I have always had in Greek restaurants were missing from the menu.However, the food that we ordered was delicious and served piping hot.The Chicken Souvlaki was absolutely gorgeous, very generous portions and served with really tasty rice and salad.Staff were very friendly, restaurant and toilets spotless.Nice touch was a drink on the house considering we had never been before.Very reasonable, will be returning soon.

We came here for my husband's 40th bday and had an amazing evening. Food was delicious! Excellent service- not too obtrusive but attentive and friendly. Lovely atmosphere on a Saturday evening. Highly recommend!

As a family we often eat in the same two or three restaurants where we can rely on the quality of the food,service and atmosphere.For a birthday celebration we decided to try somewhere new and i am so glad we did.Adelfia is one of those unique restaurants that transcends day to day to creat a special occasion.This is engendered through the thoughtful and attentive service, the warm and clean decoration,and above all the absolutely delicious food.Many of the dishes are very simple,but executed perfectly.The meatballs(keftedes)were impeccably cooked,the beef casserole(beef stifado)was smooth and aromatic.The whole evening was very memorable.I can't wait to return soon.

Really decent take on Greek food (although the owners are Albanian), with good sized portions too and the service is friendly and knowledgeable, especially about the wine.I'll definitely return!

I think people should visit this restaurant to taste the freshly cooked, great quality food. There is a lovely atmosphere and excellent, friendly service. Good music too!

Been coming here for about 1year now! The best Mediterranean restaurant for miles by far ! 10/10 every visit. Highly recommend this restaurant, very personal, not to big, not to small, decor modern and bright, love the intimacy of the whole place and the food is excellent , the owner greets you every time like its the first time. Background music is the only kitschy thing about our visits to be honest. But overall we wouldn't come back if I didn't enjoy the experience.

Very impromptu but so glad we went! We turned up around 9pm on a Friday night but still a very friendly welcome which was nice. Good menu with a variety of different dishes. Chicken skewers with side salad and rice were just lovely and my partner had the Beef Moussaka which he also thoroughly enjoyed. Good service, lovely freshly made food and reasonably priced. Surprised we've not visited before now but will definitely be returning.

Arrived even before officially opened due to business commitment. Not only did they agree to feed me, but the meal ( assorted meze) was superb. As the owner of a little house in Greece, I eat Greek alot. This was up there with the best. Thank you.

I booked a table in Adelfia for my birthday on a Thursday night, having been to the restaurant before on a Sunday.From Tuesday-Thursday, they do a meze for £20 per head, so the vast majority of guests went for that. This included around 12 different starters (both hot and cold) to share and plenty of meat, chips, rice and greek salad to share. Where there were dietary requirements, the staff were more than happy to change part of the set meze to cater (e.g replaced some of the meat with vegetable moussaka and salmon). The amount of food they bring out made sure that we were definitely getting value for money.The food tasted incredible, which was impressive considering the amount that they produced! To top it off, as they knew it was my birthday they presented me with a chocolate brownie and ice cream to celebrate. Whilst it was a very nice gesture, the brownie was possibly the nicest chocolate brownie that I have ever had!It was an amazing night and I want to thank all the staff. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that it is in the Buckhurst Hill area and looking for somewhere to eat.

The Adelfia restaurant is well worth a visit it is well presented we were made very welcome and comfortable and the service was excellent. We really enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning to this local jewel.

A group of 6 (3 couples) visited on Saturday. The restaurant was small but spaced out perfect for a meal and a catch up. The staff was very friendly and helpful the food was amazing I had a mushroom starter which was lovely and steak for main cooked perfectly and the chips was gorgeously home made. My favourite was desert I'm a massive fan of baklava as I couldn't have ice cream being lactose intolerant the waiter gave me an extra piece which was very nice of them. We wast rushed out the door like most restaurants it was a perfect night.

It can be extremely traumatic at times trying to find decent restaurants in East London without having to travel too far. After searching through countless establishments, we found Adelfia in Buckhurst Hill, a half hour tube ride from home and not an entirely authentic Greek but there was plenty of choice for everyone. Having turned up on a Friday we were able to choose from their 3 course menu if we'd wanted to but stuck to the a'la carte. The service was wonderful, from start to finish, even our table for 2 was spacious so there was plenty of room for the meze hot starter that we enjoyed along with the wine chiller. The food was delicious and reminiscent of trips to Greece and other authentic Greek restaurants in the past. The portions were plentiful, even for us as we have quite large appetites, and they left us alone long enough between courses to be acceptable, we had a long pause between main and dessert but it was needed. The great thing was that the whole experience was unrushed and there was none of this 'there'll be at least a half hour wait', which for ex-restaurant caterers to hear is a big no no. Cannot highly recommend the staff and the restaurant enough and we'll definitely be back. Thank you for a wonderful evening,it's been the best wedding anniversary meal in a long time.

Recommended to me by my hairdresser - big tip on the next visit! Mediterranean food leaning towards Greek specialities. Small enough to be intimate, but tables not too close together. No rush to move you on to accommodate a second sitting, even on a Saturday night. Food cooked exactly how you ask for it to be cooked, i.e. if you want your meat cooked through it will be! Cannot fault the service or quality of food, and at such a reasonable price. Will return even though it's an hours drive away!

I can't fault the food but have to say I found the service very confused - also had my pet hate happen - having finished our starters and waiting for our main courses a waitress came and asked us if we would like dessert and the bill. This infuriates me as surely they must be able to check as to where we are in our dining experience.

What I mean is that I can't help wanting to make another review following yet another delicious meal in a charmingly serviced restaurant. We decided to try the choices on the set menu for Friday's this time. There was an incredibly wide choice considering that it was a set menu and the glass of wine for each course provided a totally enjoyable evening. As always!

Six of us went to the restaurant yesterday for lunch on my husband's sixtieth birthday. We had been there once before and before they remembered us and the staff are so friendly. We were given complimentary meze for all of us to try. The service and the food was excellent. The restaurant is spotless. At the end of the meal they gave us a free dessert with a candle in and all the staff sang happy birthday to my husband. Would highly recommend this restaurant. The prices are very reasonable and we could not fault a thing. Will certainly go back and so would the two couples we took with us.

We love it here. You are made so very welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The food is fabulous and the atmosphere is happy. The new Tuesday to Friday set price menu is very good value. I would go back time and time again.

This was my first experience at this restaurant but now I've been I will definitely be returning. A table of 14 of us went on a Saturday evening for my husbands 30th birthday. Everyone had a different dish and everyone said how good the food was - I would highly recommend the Mediterranean chicken for a main course - portion sizes were large, more than enough and definitely worth the price! The staff were excellent throughout the meal, re-filling glasses for us, checking everything was okay with the food etc, they even let us wait inside for our taxi's even though they were closing! I would highly recommend booking with the restaurant if you are planning to go on a Friday or Saturday evening as the restaurant was full during our sitting - which helped towards the great atmosphere we got to experience. In the lead up the staff were excellent and handled all my requests, they allowed me to drop balloons and party bags off during the day with no trouble, and also did a dessert candle for the birthday boy!

Been to this restaurant a couple of times and had an enjoyable meal on both occasions.The food is mainly of Greek origin but there is nice choice of starters and main courses from the Med. I have chosen the asparagus and the halloumi cheese as starters and they were fresh and nicely prepared and pleasantly served.For main course I have had a variation of souvlaki on both occasions and the meat has been, tasty, succulent and well seasoned.My diet hasn't permitted me to sample the desserts but the list looks quite brief and could do with a bit more imagination.Both times I have visited this restaurant I have been driving so I have limited myself to two small beers but next time I am going to sample some of their wine.The service is friendly and helpful.There are now a lot of Turkish restaurants in the area but this Greek run restaurant is superior to many of them and better in my opinion than Mezesphere in Loughton and more reasonably priced.

This restaurant surprised me. I have now been twice.The meze dishes are superb - especially with their specially prepared pitta with sprinkled herbs. Tarama and halloumi both as good as they get.Moussaka is authentic and beautifully presented.Both the presentation of the food and the restaurant itself are of much high class than many other local restaurants - fresh white tableclothes and chandeliers for example. Definitely a bit special, as is the personal service. They have taken a lot of trouble to get it right and deserve a long waiting list for a table!Definite on my favourite list.

What a fabulous restaurant! We visited at 4 pm on a Saturday afternoon to have dinner before making our way to a show at the O2. We were greeted by such a friendly waiter who was so helpful. The menu is primarily Greek, beautifully prepared and presented and absolutely delicious. My husband was unsure whether to dink wine as it gives him heartburn but our waiter recommended one in particular which he knew from personal experience was fine and it was lovely and gave my husband no problems. We had 3 courses, all superb. The restaurant is clean and bright, tables spaced just far enough apart for a little privacy, white tablecloths, flowers on each table, the toilets were spotless too. Really cannot fault this place and will definitely be back next time we are in London.

We have been coming to Adelfia regularly since it opened a couple of years ago. Its a very comfortable place for lunch and/or dinner with a wonderfully eclectic, fresh Mediterranean menu served with skill panache by the owner/maître de Alfi, who makes all his guests feel very special indeed. Indeed we like this restaurant so much that my wife organised my 50th birthday dinner here for all the family. Whether you have the lamb cutlets, the "Med Chicken" or simply stick with a simple mezze of hot and cold, handmade treats the quality is always superb and the food presented with flair.Traditional dishes such as stuffed vine leaves or falafel have been given an "Adelfia twist" and do not disappoint. Other treats include the spanakopita (delicious filo pastry parcels stiffed full with cheese). Its all reasonable priced too and there are midweek offers as well as a new fine dining experience with a flight of wines.By far the nicest (and best) restaurant in Buckhurst Hill. The specials menus at rival local eatery "Nuovo" - just down the hill - takes some beating but Adelfia's al a carte offerings certainly gives them a run for their money. We will be going again and again...

All round pleasant visit to adelfia. Starters and mains excellent. Baklava was a little too sweet for my palate but still tasty. I would visit again if in the area.

Visited with my other half on a busy Saturday evening and was seated with no problems, the waiter was excellent as was the house champagne and very reasonably priced,On to the food ,, we opted for the hot mixed starter which was pretty amazing and so tasty, mains were souvakki and lamb shank also some of the best I've tasted, All in all a great ambience with great friendly service and excellent food ... return visit???? 100%

This nicely presented eatrie is towards the High Road end of Queens Road, i.e moslty residential parking, alternatively turn left out of Buckhurst Hill and right on Queens Road, about 5-7 minutes walk further from waitroseInside your treated to serene, dimmly lit atmosphere withvery friendly greek staff, it appears to be family runwhat your treated it too is very well flavoured and cooked food, albeit at a cost, and a lack of accompanied sides, for example, the souvlaki salad consisted of a few leaves,, A mixed salad and/or some kind of vegtables is more common on such a plate for a main meal

This is by far the best place to eat for miles .The service is outstanding the restaurant itself is spotless with beautiful linen and fresh orchids everywhere but most importantly the food itself is excellent.The menu changes frequently but they still keep the favourites nothing is too much trouble for the owners .We visited last night as a table of 4 and then when another couple of friends walked in the owner quickly let them join our table without any fuss .I encourage everyone to visit here you are really in for a treat

We were a party of 6 on 2nd Jan when many other restaurants were shut or short staffed. Adelfia was a delight - friendly service, right timing between courses and a great selection of Greek/Med hot and cold appetizers and main courses. Very generous portions, helpful and attentive wait staff with good recommendations. Wine was high standard and reasonably priced. Local parking nearby and a quiet and clean location. Would recommend and would return again. Spot on prices and good value for the money. The hot mezze platter was truly excellent, varied, tasty and excellent value.

Since my last review of this restaurant at the start of this year, I have returned several times with my husband, friends and family and recommend it to anyone who will listen!We were there again last night with both nieces who are home for Xmas from Dubai. One had been twice before and it was her choice to go again - and we were not disappointed. Archie (manager and owner) makes each visit special and the food was top notch. Simple fresh starter of mixed dips with pitta bread was served while we browsed the menu for a main course. The girls both had the delicious King prawns marinated in white wine tomato sauce, garlic lemon & chilli and my husband and I had Paidakia which is tender lamb cutlets served with green beans, roasted beetroot, rocket salad and a lovely slightly sweet sauce. Perfectly cooked. We accompanied the food with a bottle of Monastrell Jumilla, Pedera - Spain at £20, a lovely red. So……if you live locally, or if you don't, I can highly recommend this great place for food, service and atmosphere.

I am a regular visitor of Adelfia. It is one of my favourite restaurants and definitely the best in the area! Food and service good as always.Will visit again soon.

My wife and I both were disappointed by the food that had no flavour, whether starters or mains. We both ordered different dishes but each of us felt if was a struggle to finish. We will not go here again.

Went here this evening for a meal with friends. All of us chose different things from the menu and we all enjoyed our meals. This is a great place for a night out. The food was lovely and the staff were great. I have been here on several occasions now and it has always been super. I would highly recommend!

Every bit as good as the reviews; friendly and knowledgeable staff and wonderful food. Easily the best beef moussaka ever. Will definitely be going back with visitors soon!

Have been to Adelfia several times, it is always busy on Friday and Saturdays so essential to book, we often go on a Sunday evening when it is more leisurely with the same great food and attentive service. Clean white tablecloths and comfortable environment gives a satisfying confirmation that the food will live up to expectations, have tried most dishes and all have been well cooked and appetising.

We have been to this restaurant 4 times since it opened and have had an excellent meal every time, with attentive and friendly service.

Just a few minutes’ walk away from home we decided to try Adelfia. As the months press on, this restaurant just seems to be getting busier and busier!It seems to be doing well for a reason. A very busy Saturday evening buzz (9pm) in a warm/full restaurant is always a welcome sight on an otherwise damp miserable evening in August. From the initial phone booking to the greeting on arrival - the staff running Adelfia do genuinely seem to care about what they’re doing and the food they serve. The main thing for me was that we got VERY hot food. I’m amazed these days at how many places I’ve been to recently where food is served warm or even worse, luke warm. Not the case here.My starter (spiced beef meatballs served with tomato sauce and feta) was very good, a lovely spicy kick and served really hot and fresh. I must admit, I didn’t see any sign of the feta but the gorgeous hot pita bread brought to our table made for a really satisfying start to our dinner. Mains for me was Char-grilled Souvlaki skewers with rice and salad. I had the mixed chicken and lamb. I think next time I’d stick to just chicken, which was superb, my lamb was quite tough in places. As a non-drinker, I think the addition of some mocktails to their drinks menu would be a welcome addition. I asked for something strawberry and non-alcholic. What I got was a sickly sweet, strawberry cordial of some description, which became a bit of an on-going joke with the waiter, but I was very grateful and at least they tried, and that’s what counts. Small downside on this visit was the staffs attention to my dining partners empty wine glass, we had to ask a few times for more wine for her, but on the whole a lovely evening with some enjoyable and really well cooked food. I’m pretty certain we’ll be coming back.

It really helps when the whole experience begins with white linen and perfectly mannered attention. Add to that the fact that just about everything appears to be freshly made, from the hummus to the kleftico, and a top drawer quality relaxing evening just seems to happen. Elegant and understated it also fits the area perfectly and is good enough to keep quiet about! Until next time...

Visiting my son in Essex we had struggled for anywhere to book to eat on Friday evening. Wondering through Buckhurst Hill on Friday morning we spotted Adelfia and rang them on the off chance of getting a table - surprisingly we were lucky and got one (good weather - BBQs?).Right from the minute we arrived the service was outstanding, the food was good authentic Greek along with live Greek music including Zorba! What a fantastic evening, such a refreshing change!We will definitely go back when next in Essex.

The food was delicious but the service was disorganised. One waiter took our drinks order, then another asked if we wanted a drink. The drinks took ages to come and one drink was missing (out of three!) We asked for vinegar but it took ages to arrive, by which time our starters were almost finished. Several waiters were serving us but it would be better if each one looked after a set number of tables as it would rule out confusion and duplication. It was annoying to keep being asked the same thing by different waiters. All were very friendly but not efficient. The door needs a self-closing mechanism as it was very chilly. And replace the French street scene pictures in the walls - get some Greek one's instead! This could be a great place with a few tweaks as the food was superb.

We had had a third day of walking around the sights of London, just wanted food and bed. Called in here as it was near our hotel, and had a fabulous meal., in lovely surroundings.The squid was about the best I've ever had, and I also had seafood linguini which was delicious. We were less keen on the baklava dessert, but didn't care by then, and trotted off to our hotel, happy and well fed.

Went to this restaurant with family for a joint birthday celebration. Restaurant is simply decorated with crisp white table linen and a modern Mediterranean feel. Table was ready when we arrived and the waiting staff were very polite and efficient. We all had excellent starters - usual items, squid, kidneys, prawns, all well presented and cooked. Mains followed on quickly and we're simply cooked and piping hot (definitely not microwaved). I had two enormous sea bass fillets and the others plumped for chicken souvlaki. Wine was crisp and jolly enough for 4 of us to have two bottles. Minor criticism - not the place to go if you like puddings. All a bit uninspiring traditional Greek fare. We had a dessert cocktail instead which was a bit of of a mistake. Still they didn't charge for it - it wasn't awful, just a bit insipid. Overall, we had a great evening in this charming little restaurant. Will definitely be returning.

Very pleasant experience. Chef delighted to cook off menu items for my veggie daughter. Lamb shanks were very good as was the steak my son ordered. It's described as a Mediterranean restaurant but essentially it's Greek cuisine. Only reason it's not 5 stars is that the waiters were somewhat over attentive e.g. Asking us if everything was okay no fewer than 4 times!

Whilst we could not fault the Greek cuisine and the service was attentive, unfortunately the acoustics of the room (a former bank) mean that a single noisy table can easily disturb every diner. I wonder whether there is anything that can be done - curtains or other soft furnishings for example - so as to ensure a calm dining experience for all? All that said I am sure we will be going back - hopefully on a quieter evening.

I wanted to take my family for a meal for my daughter's birthday & get a bit bored with some of the mainstream resteraunts so I thought I would book the Adelfia as the reviews were good, I wasn't disappointed either, the service was very good, & as mentioned the waiter was so friendly & attentive,. When I booked I did ask about veggie options as on the menu it didn't seem to have anything but he was very helpful & gave me options on the phone so when I arrived they had prepared it, all of our group said the food was hot & very good from start to finish. I did think that the dessert menu was a bit limited but that was a personal taste, my husband had a large serving of ice cream not the usual two scoops, would definitely recommend this place

When my husband asked me where I would like to eat on my birthday I had no doubt - The Adelphia and their sea bass! The attention - friendly, charming,attentive but not overwhelming along with a superb menu that has never failed to please makes it an easy choice. The asparagus was delicious and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the chorizo & prawn starter recommended. The sea bass - as I expected - superb! Thank you.

Went here on Mothers Day for our second visit and took the family. Had a lovely set menu. They were very accommodating of my daughters dietary requirements and we found them to be very concerned in making sure she had a lovely meal. The entertainment was very good too and I had a very enjoyable and different mothers day celebration.

Second visit where the restaurant was full and the vibe was happy and friendly. The head waiter is so good, personable and efficient. The second waiter is learning very fast and the waitress was perfect. The selection of non alcoholic beverages is vast, the red Greek wine very good and the food was better than anticipated, all in all, excellent food, wine and sevice. Also the restaurant benefits from open aspects to three sides and the table layout offers privacy as well as large parties all able to enjoy and ambiance and the music. A memorable evening, thank you, we shall come again very soon.

Adelfia was recommended by a friend. He had been with a group friends a week before. He said he had the most fantastic food and wonderful service.My visit was no different.The restaurant is relatively small, however, there are a good number of covers. During our visit there was one main waiter.The level of service he delivered was fantastic. Though out the meal he came to us and asked if we were enjoying our time.The food is not completely greek which was of some surprise, however, all of the food is wonderfully cooked.If you are looking for somewhere different to eat with a great ambiance and great food, then this is the place to go.

Went here with the family for a birthday celebration. The food was well cooked and presented and the staff were attentive and friendly.will visit again.my daughter also had a take away from here which was also very good

Quite quiet when we went in, but really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, one of the waiters got our drinks order wrong so he gave it to us for free. Everyone was very attentive and made sure we were well looked after. Have to say everyone loved what they ordered and we were very happy we gave it a go. Not badly priced either. Definitely worth a trip to Buckhurst Hill to try it out, and I will definitely be back. Only thing I could possibly fault was how hard it was to open the door.

We went there a Friday night for dinner (8 people). Both the food and the service was good. Interesting menu.

We were recommended to Adelfia by friends and went with other friends. The experience from entering to leaving was excellent. The attention to service and quality of food we received was faultess with a good menue and decent sized portions. The flavours were delicious and The Kleftico perfect.We had a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc on the pricey side but mouth watering to complement our meal. Will definitely visit again soon

Saturday lunch with family members. Waiter couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. Food was excellent and tasted home cooked (waiter did say his mother cooked a lot of the dishes) just surprised that we were the only diners until about 2.30 pm.

Ive never written a review before but had to for this great restaurant! I took my mum as she was up from Devon and was really pleased when we were seated everyone was spread out round the spacious restaurant so you aren't all on top of eachother - one of my pet hates! We shared a started of hummus and asparagus and halloumi and was delish!! We ordered a bottle of red, i dont remember the name but it was one of the best wines we have ever tried (its the second one down on the menu). I had chicken and mum had lamb and one again it was lovely! no complaints at all!! as we ordered another glass of red each the waiter bought out a fruit salad on the house for us to enjoy whilst we finish off our wine - nice touch! The restaurant is lovely, food amazing and the two waiters very attentive, relaxed and welcoming!Try this place - you wont be disappointed!!!

My Wife and I visited on the occasion of my birthday last night. The staff are indeed first class and go 'the extra yard'.Carol had Calamari for starter which came with a powerful home made sweet chilli dip. She enjoyed the starter, I ate the dip, (I'm a bit of a chilli head).Sad to say my starter of Chorizo and Prawns was overcooked, especially the Chorizo.Carol had Sea Bass fillets as a main which she loved.I had Stifado, which I believe to be prepared in advance like Kleftico It came in just a sauce with onions, so you had to buy rice. It was tender, but just not as I recall Stifado served in Cyprus. I'm afraid it was not my cup of tea, had an almost perfumed taste.That said the Peroni was chilled, the wine flowed, and the ambiance was lovely.Also, Carol could not taste the Baileys in her coffee liqueur. 2 X starters, 2 X mains, 1 X rice, 3 bottles Peroni, 1 glass wine, 1 bottle water, 1 Martini and lemonade, 1 coffee liqueur, £85.85.

Had dinner here this evening. Food was superb as was the service. Could not fault this restaurant. Can only highly recommend.

My husband and I visited this restaurant for the first time on Saturday. It was a set menu and we could not fault it at all. Lovely decor and wonderful food. The Owner was very friendly and chatty. We will be returning soon.

We have revisited several times but tonight they absolutely excelled. Valentines day set menu was fantastic we couldn't fault anything . The food was delicious and the service was impeccable and thank you for the lovely drink on the house to finish .Even though they were full and very busy the owner took time to explain they are a family run business with his brother concocting the wonderfull dishes in the kitchen whilst he heads up front of house . We are extremely privileged to have a restaurant of this standard in Buckhurst Hill and would strongly recommend it

Just celebrated my granddaughters 18th birthday at the adelphia. We had the most wonderful night for around 40 of us, the food was fantastic and the staff was really helpful and friendly. Brilliant atmosphere and the whole evening was faultless. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone it definately was 10/10. In every way. The guests also commented on how great this restaurant was, great food,great wines just quality in every way.Will definitely be going back .thank you to the staff that made this birthday celebration fantastic for all of us you were all amazing. Despite several faultless dinners, maybe the concept of a birthday lunch for about forty friends would be a risk, -- wrong!From the original menu discussion and the arrangement to its conception was perfect in every aspect, the atmosphere, the quality of all courses with immaculate and spontaneous service for almost forty people.The appreciation of this late Sunday lunch was emphasized by the number of thank you cards, e-mails and texts I received, which really should have been sent to the amazing Adelfia staff.

Travelling from Surrey to visit friends for the evening, the Adelfia was the restaurant chosen for our evening meal. What a treat! Whilst the menu is not extensive, the choices are extremely good with an evening recommendation from the chef conveyed to us by the waiter. There were well chosen wines on the wine list, the prices of which were not silly. The service both from the owners and their staff was excellent. I understand that at one point the building was a bank. The owners have used the unusual shape of the original structure well well and both the decor and ambience is pleasing. Finally, the overall cost was reasonable for this type of restaurant,
