The best restaurants serving Japanese food in England

Simply the best vegan food I've ever had. I only wish we could have had everything on the menu. We'll be back!

Wonderful meal here this evening. Enjoyed trying lots of different dishes - all freshly cooked / delicious. Servers were friendly/ knowledgeable (especially the young, curly haired lad), explaining the menu. Quite pricey, but worth it for a special night out. Only criticism was that the lights were way too bright - could do with being a bit more dimmed & the music was a bit too funky for my tastes 😁😁

Absolutely fantastic! The food was delicious, we had several dishes and all of them were amazing and beautiful flavours. Excellent service and the team were knowledgeable about the menu. I did leave my hat behind by mistake and they were great, they had already popped it safe behind the bar for me to collect the next day. Thanks all and definitely be back.

Lovely and welcoming Japanese Restaurant

Despite living in Meanwood for five years, I'd never been to Hana Matsuri and finally got round to going this evening. I'd heard good things, but wasn't prepared for how good it was. The food (small plates) was incredible and very reasonably priced, the waiting staff were attentive and knowledgable - a truly memorable experience. I will certainly be back (at every opportunity).

Staff are really friendly! Food is so good as well! If you ate non vegan this is a really good place to try fully vegan food!

This place is an absolute delight, the food was incredibly delicious, we're not vegan or vegetarian so we weren't sure what to expect but it was incredibly delicious and very filling, the atmosphere was romantic and perfect and the staff lovely, highly recommended. 10 out of 10

Cosy little restaurant serving authentic Japanese food. Very tasty dishes, cooked fresh. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. Will definitely visit them again!

I have been coming here for years. The food is always so fresh and the service is great. Much better than the commercial ‘Kokoro’ down the road!

Combining family home made food, Japanese cuisine & its service, this is a lovely place for a delicious dinner night. Food was so good and enough that i think the restaurant and myself forgot about the gyoza dumplings! Will need to come back to try them out 😋

I love it, I love it, I love it. Ventnor is a little short on good places to go for a drink but this place excels itself and the bar food is second to none - I mean really, when we have visitors we always bring them here and not one has come away without saying its better than anywhere they've been in London. Good value too, to boot. I love it here and you will too.

Came across this little food gem by accident and we are so glad we did. Very cosy and welcoming service and atmosphere,l. The food was very much above average , the Octopus starter was to die for. The menu was small but lots of great options for all tastes including lots of vegan options. Will definitely come back.
