This was our third visit to La Bibliotheque. The restaurant is a very welcome addition to the area and is deserving of its excellent reviews. It’s romantic and beautifully decorated, and the atmosphere is relaxed. The quality of the food on each occasion was really excellent, with dishes cleverly put together in terms of taste and texture. It is difficult to resist filling up on their truly delicious bread and flavoured butter at the start of the meal. On the three occasions we have visited there was no dish we didn’t enjoy, but the highlights on each occasion were the desserts, from a stunning beetroot cake with yoghurt to the incredible Tunworth ice cream with truffle and balsamic vinegar. Customer service really matters to this restaurant, and no review would be complete without mentioning Charlotte, who is a real gem and who looked after us brilliantly. We very much look forward to our next visit.

Amazing find! Visited last week and it blew my mind, so great to see a restaurant like this in Haggerston. There were really lovely waitresses looking after our table, decor and atmosphere is impressive. I really recommend the lamb, maitake and pig, all dishes we had were well put together and tasty. I find the Price point great considering what you get here. I’ll be back for sure!

Very disappointing to say the least, even with 50% discount on food! We ordered through The Fork during their discount festival. The bread was delicious with the 3 lovely butters but that was the highlight of the menu! A group of 4 of us attended and the meal and all got a starter and main, bread to share and a potato nibbles to share and none of us enjoyed it. We go out to eat a lot, from street food to Michelin starred restaurants and this just didn’t go down well. The food was presented as high end but the taste doesn’t fit the presentation and I like meat rare, but the duck was under cooked and chewy unfortunately. Multiple fishes were far too over seasoned. Red wine was also tasty, as was my negroni-like cocktail, but the food was a true let-down. Glad we got 50% off but felt robbed even with that.

Delicious and unusual. Cheese ice cream astonishing. Had a sake pairing which was fun but a bit far for me. But if you’re looking for highly skilled cooking with a twist try it.

We were looking for a new restaurant experience and found La Bibliothèque online. The restaurant is very pleasant, the food was fantastic and the service was outstanding. We enjoyed meat as well as fish courses and two very special desserts. What all dishes had in common was that they had some special twist and surprised with unusual flavors. Definitely aim to go back when we are back in London.

The fact that it was nearly full, midweek, after only being open for two weeks says it all! The food was exquisite to taste and exquisitely served, the wine complemented the meal, and the service was impeccable. If we lived near it, we would go regularly.

I've been twice since it opened as I live local and the whole setting is wow. Food, cocktails, the selection of wine and sake, atmosphere. Very well thought through and designed. They the ravioli and Tunworth cheese dessert. I'll be back again and can't wait for the Hotel rooms to open as well.

The place feels cozy and elegant on arrival, perfect for your adventure for a solo dinner. Matteo, the mixologist, will take care of you if you sit at the very comfortable stalls at the bar. Menus are exquisitely featured with original descriptions and pictures of the cocktails. The surprising fusion of Mediterranean and Japanese cuisine works beautifully from beginning to end. I started with milk bread served on a delicate board, warm, and with 3 different types of butter. It was delicious. I chose the Mylar Prawn, Champagne, and Caviar, so tasty I didn't want to finish the dish. I continued with a Sirloin served with mushroom and barley which combination delighted me. As a dessert, I tried the Turnworth, a type of cheese ice cream with some balsamic under and truffle that was incredible. They have an extensive worldwide wine list. I will 100 percent repeat the experience.

Had a great experience in the opening week at La Bibliotheque! The restaurant is cosy and warm and the welcome was very friendly. Cocktails to start with were great and the menu was interesting and very tasty. I had the beef sirloin with CEO’s and barley and my partner had the lobster. Desserts were great too! I had the beetroot, yoghurt and plums with no regrets. It was the first few days of opening but the team were very professional and you get like they had been doing this for years.

Had dinner and drinks with friends on Saturday, food was amazing and the place was buzzing. Mylar Prawn was great, loved the crispy head. Sirloin was perfectly cooked and Pear dessert WOW. Would have liked to have a steak knife with my sirloin and some salt and pepper as well as a chocolate dessert option cos everyone loves chocolate :-) Great location, 2 min walk from Haggerston station. Thank you to everyone who looked after us. We will be back.

We had absolutely amazing experience of tasting Mediterranean menu with Japanese infusion. Scallops and prawns - to die for! So fresh and delicious, beef cocked to perfection! I'm not a desert person, but we had 3 different one, each one better than the next one, I would never have thought to combine such ingredients. And the cocktails - strong and very refreshing! Highly recommended - 10 out of 10.
