The best restaurants serving Italian food in Dumfries & Galloway Lowlands

From the minute we stepped through the door, service was great from the young team, food was excellent , I had a meat like Platter with olives ,cheese and salad, homemade Garlic bread followed by Spahetti Bolognaise, Huge Portion and Garlic Bread that I had never seen or tasted before washed down with water and a lovely bottle of Zinfadel Rose wine , Absolutely delicious, Compliments to the Chefs and the Kp. Will definitely be back .Two very food Coma'd people and definately worth every penny for the atmosphere. Definitely phone up and book first. They also have just opened up Takeaway as so busy. Very Clean Restaurant also.

Food choice is excellent... All freshly prepared in less than 15 minutes... Excellent value too... Well worth a visit!

Great food and friendly staff. Lasagne was superb but the place felt rather cold, dark and uninviting. Maybe if thry had switched on the fairy lights it would have felt a bit more welcoming but there are other pizzerias in the town which are similarly priced with a lovely ambience.

Food was decent. Ridiculously over priced. I didn’t realise how much I had been charged at the time. £9.50 for a roll , small coffee cup of soup and a bottle of irn bru.

*Unfriendly service and served dairy alternative with milk in * We visited on the morning of Friday 27th February and ordered coffee. I requested oat milk in a flat white but could taste milk plainly in my drink. I took my coffee back to the counter and apologised for bringing it back and explained I’d ordered oat milk. The woman who served me said it was oat milk and that she’d made it. I apologised again and said I could definitely taste milk but she insisted I was wrong and made me feel like I was a little crazy. So I returned to my table and just left my drink thinking maybe I’d got it wrong and it was just terrible coffee. My husband went to pay as I walked back to the car. He came back with an explanation and a photo he’d taken of the carton in the glass front fridge, which said ‘blended oat and dairy milk’. Serving a dairy alternative with dairy in is clearly an issue. I have oat as a preference, rather than an allergy or intolerance which is just as well. But the additional issue was the attitude of the woman who served me who was rude and told me I was wrong. I think the business is changing hands, as when we visited, the signage had been removed and the signage for the previous business name, Biondi was on show. But if the same staff are being employed in the new business, this needs addressing.

Online order didn't turn up despite the company saying it had been delivered. They didn't answer their phone when l tried to find out where order was. They still charged me over £20 for the order. Total cowboy outfit. Beware.

Pizza EXPRESS?!? No express about it! Went here for lunch while at Caledonia Retail Outlet. Staff member serving the tables was very polite, cheery & friendly - off to a good start...or so we thought. Time waiting for food after placing our order (1 half & half pizza + 1 portion of mozarella sticks) was around 45 mins. When the food eventually arrived the pizza was luke warm & over cooked - the pepperoni was dried out & when eating parts of the pizza it was like crunching on a bag of crisps. My husbands half of the pizza was slightly better as it had slightly more topping on it. Definitely wasn't worth the wait! We were going to order the golden chocolate caramel dough balls to take out but didn't want to wait/waste another 45 mins of the afternoon so didn't bother. Had eaten here before but following this experience, I don't recommend this Pizza "Express" & won't be returning.

Have been ordering from them for a few months now, there service has got worse and worse! Overcharging when ordering over the phone with them, forgetting items and then charging to then bring them out and overall a bad customer service experience with ak desserts… so disappointing won’t be ordering from there again.

Best pizza in dumfries! All of the desserts and sides are great as well, absolutely recommend getting the banoffee pie😍.
