Great food and friendly staff. Lasagne was superb but the place felt rather cold, dark and uninviting. Maybe if thry had switched on the fairy lights it would have felt a bit more welcoming but there are other pizzerias in the town which are similarly priced with a lovely ambience.

What a gem. One of the best pizzas I’ve had served straight from a wood fired stone pizza oven. Service was excellent. Pricing very reasonable. Situated in the beautiful parkland down by the river a short walk out of the town centre. Will definitely be back.

Friendly Italian with welcoming staff and a great menu. Delicious food served fresh. Reasonably priced too. Place was fully booked bar the last table we got as a walk in so ideally book if you can. Would definitely come back when next in the area.

I was raised in Dumfries, and I've visited the Pizzeria almost every time I've been back to see family for the last 40 years. The food is, and has always been, excellent. The location in the park next to the river is lovely and great for the kids to play. It is a nice atmosphere in there. The Italian owners and the rest of the staff and the service are excellent. They're always friendly and efficient. You never wait long for food or drink, however, it's not rushed either. The food is the real highlight, though. The pizza is, of course, great. But the seafood, for me, is the real highlight; the fresh mussels I had were fabulous! This is a great restaurant!

Got a reservation here on short notice for my wife, son and I and couldn't have been happier. My sons pizza was excellent as was our half and half pizza and pasta. Excellent service and good price too. Staff were great but especially so with our young son. A lovely night.

We where in Dumfries for a Wedding on the Sat and found this little gem on the Sun ,we where a party of nine and boy did we enjoy food was amazing ,staff very attentive there’s even a wee park just outside that the kids could play until the dinner was ready ,seemed like a real traditional family run business nothing was a bother to them .Thanks so much if we are ever back down we will definitely be back 😁😁

Was out for a family dinner and decided to book this place. Nice little restaurant not far from Dumfries town centre. The service was good and the food was delicious. Would happily book another meal here.

We chose the wrong food, which was ok but not great. Hindsight being a good thing we should have had pizzas which looked really good . The atmosphere was somewhat chilly after we’d changed our mind about our starter and I heard us being discussed. Very unprofessional. We would not return

We had family visiting from Australia. Decided to go to pizzeria for meal. Best choice we made. Had a fantastic meal. Food was 100%. Staff were excellent. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Whole family had pizzas and garlic focaccia. Have you say as pizza fans we were very impressed. Delicious 😋. Very attentive staff with excellent service. Only problem were the flies or it would have been 5 stars.

Came here during a weekend away at nunland hillside lodges as we had read the good reviews online. Looks very small when entering but has more seating through the back which unfortunately we didn’t get to see as I’m assuming it was for larger groups. Was quiet when we went in but filled up quickly after. We were sat at the front which was at the main entrance and I was freezing so although the food was lovely I wanted to get back to the car for a heat. Was quite cramped due to space so felt like we were sitting with the couple at the table next to us. Saying that the food made up for it. Ordered the red snapper on the bone which I’d never had before and the guy seen me picking at it and showed me how to separate the bone from the fish which helped as I would probably have left half the fish. Just a pity I was so cold otherwise we would have stayed a bit longer and had dessert and another couple drinks.

Lovely food but the restaurant is very cold , so it didn’t take long for food to get cold too. I’ve never sat through a three course meal with my coat on the entire time in a restaurant and I was not the only table that kept their coats on . I asked to be moved from the table they sat us at as the lights are that dim I couldn’t see the menu and I also noticed the other table next to us the lady put her torch on on her phone to look at the menu . £106 lighter for being cold while trying to enjoy a night out. Won’t be back. I did mention to waitress if they have any heating and she replied I don’t think it’s on . I also mentioned to the owner that he needs to put some heating on in his restaurant. Restaurant was not busy and I can now understand why.

We stopped on the way back from the ferry. It was one of the only places open on the rainy Tuesday night right at the beginning of January. Fabulous food. Highly recommend the Italian summer pizza, covered in fresh hand torn buffalo mozzarella, Parmesan, rocket and cherry tomatoes, and so so tasty. My 5 year old daughter asked if we can come back again because she loved her pizza so much.

As soon as we arrived we were very warmly greeted by piero and Mazza we were taken to our table .The atmosphere was amazing our fillet steaks and chicken dish were delicious cooked to perfection and of course the lovely chianti wine.Thanks again for a very enjoyable evening.

From the moment we arrived we were welcomed, the owner took an interest on which table was allocated to us, the service was very good and the food excellent. The meal was interrupted by an argument with the owner and a customer. I thought the owner handled a very difficult customer well.

Walked in and asked for 2 drinks and little man walks out and says if you are not ordering food go to a pub and stormed back in. He clearly has issues.

3 course meal plus glass of wine for £15.I had pate to start followed by carbonara. Don't usually have dessert and shouldn't have as was totally stuffed but went for the profiteroles.....Couldn't fault it and service was 1st class too. Will defo be back.

Ordered two pizzas to go as we fancied a change from our usual take away. The “haggis” pizza came with a whole red onion sliced on it despite no mention of onion being on the pizza and very little haggis. The pepperoni pizza was extremely disappointing. Many years ago I worked here at the Pizzeria and it’s such a shame to see it go downhill like this. You could always rely on the pizzas being good, not anymore. We won’t be back.

Beautiful sunny day so sat outside at the Pizzeria, staff are amazing and so accomodating and the quality of the food is outstanding!! Inside the restaurant the measures taken to make it a safe, sociably distanced area are spot on without affecting your dining experience. These are unsual times for everyone but this restaurant in particular have got it absolutely right! Well done guys

Excellent food, friendly staff and first class attention to hygiene and social isolation. We shared a garlic and cheese faccacia and both had butterfly chicken. They were nicely served and cry tasty. Will be going back oon.

To begin with we were greeted by the owner/manager who was welcoming. The restaurant maintained appropriate covid precautions, face masks, face sheilds, hand sanitizer on arrival. The food and atmosphere was absolutely outstanding. My family and I are from Glasgow and in the midst of Covid it was difficult to get a table anywhere, thank god for this place. It is hidden, (don't be fooled by the outside) it is amazing. Its by far one of the nicest places I've been for food.. ever. Beautiful decor inside. The staff were lovely, chatty, approachable and kind. Could not fault this restaurant. If you can go, go. I promise you, you won't regret it.

Pasta dish was below average. Kids pizza was good. Service ok, restaurant busy, had screens up but packing people in. Not all staff wearing masks or visors. All up pretty average Italian, would not go back.

I've visited with friends after restaurants were allowed to open again provided that they follow new regulations and health and safety rules to keep their staff and customers safe! The first thing you see as you walk in is hand sanitiser on your left and friendly staff wearing masks. The menu that the restaurant provides it truly interesting and worth giving a look for yourself! Prices are reasonable and a friendly service is a given. I would highly recommend and encourage to visit as its worth it for the food and experience

we were very worried about going out due to the current situation with the virus, however there have been protective screens put up, all the staff were wearing masks and there was hand sanitiser as soon as you walk in. Food was amazing and very friendly staff and manager. Will definitely be back

Fantastic place to come and visit! Felt safe as social distancing was in place, masks were getting used, hand sanitiser was offered and screens were put up. The staff were brilliant especially our server lauren who was friendly attentive and chatty! Will definitely be back again to visit.

Came here a few weeks ago with my friends it's safe to say I will be returning all staff had masks on,hand sanitizer at the door, screens between tables. The waitress that served us was top class, food was relatively fast for how many people we had, Manager had great banter. 10/10

I have eaten here before, usually for happy hour which is good value. No Happy Hour menu last night. First impression was no hand sanitizer, some staff wearing masks and some visors. One guy wore his visor up like a baseball cap. The place was packed, it was impossible to be socially distant from the people at the table across the narrow aisle. £13.50 for a very meagre bowl of lukewarm pasta means I won’t go back or recommend. Service was very slow.

Booked for dinner with my friends, arrived to no hand sanitiser on the way in? Were shown to our table which had a plastic screen between the tables, they haven’t thought about how many people they are letting in at any one time as the place was packed! Back to the screen in between the tables, it was the length of the table but the diners weren’t behind the screen as it wasn’t wide enough.Orders were taken & all staff either had a visor or face mask on, never seen any washing hands or sanitising hands, we were told there was no happy hour menu & this was between the happy hour times,we weren’t told that on booking.Food was ok but to be fair I couldn’t wait to leave the overcrowding restaurant, payment was handing your card over while they put you card details into the machine, then touched their face & passed the machine for you to then touch & put your pin in,no contactless?No details taken for tracing you if there’s an outbreak.I won’t be going back & if you are maybe someone who is worried about eating out then I wouldn’t recommend it, worst experience yet!

On 25 June we placed an order for our wedding anniversary meal the fillet steaks were delicious cooked to perfection and also the sides were lovely a special thanks to Maza and his staff greatly appreciated and the order was delivered right on time.Thanks once again Beatrice and Jimxxxxx

We have been enjoying food at Pizzeria Il Fiume for as long as I can remember, and couldn’t recommend them enough! The team are so friendly, service is second to none and nothing is ever too much trouble. With the lockdown, we’ve had a few deliveries and the standard has been fantastic. We had a miscommunication with one of our deliveries and it went to the wrong address, but we called up and not only was a whole fresh batch of food made and delivered straight away, but we were sent a complimentary bottle of wine too. Always our Italian of choice in town, and the team look after their customers so well I can’t wait to get back in the restaurant once lockdown measures are relaxed - we’ve enjoyed lots of special occasions there!

We have been coming to Il Fume since we were kids and are never disappointed. The pizzas are the best made and cooked in the clay oven fresh and tasty. A treat

Great little restaurant .From the moment we arrived we were greeted by a friendly waiter who was very attentive,the restaurant atmosphere was welcoming even on a miserable wet Tuesday night.We all shared a garlic pizza bread followed by our pizzas which were all excellent.Only trouble was we were all full.Will be back again to get to the desserts.

I was away with work and came here on my own for an early dinner before going back to my hotel. From the outside this place doesn’t look much and the seating area where I was, as you first go in, is quite drab and not particularly welcoming - the area through the back is nicer.The food and service were both great though. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and efficient. The pizza was made in a wood fired oven and was quite delicious. If you like good pizza then I would say this is worth a visit.

First time in here found it quite packed with no elbow room to eat. Pasta dish was bland chips hard gammon steak had bits of bone. Not a good dining experience

Last night my husband and I went for dinner to the pizzeria. During the starter of bruschetta I found a piece of glass in my mouth! Thankfully I didn’t swallow it!! I told the waitress who apologised but clearly did not pass it on to the chef or manager as there was no further apology. Totally put me off the rest of the meal. Won’t be back.

Just had another fantastic meal in here, the food is always great and we always clear up. The staff are attentive and there is never a long wait. Massa the Manager always makes you feel more than welcome and treats you like you are the only customers in, not only that they cater very well for the children, always worth a shout whether you are just peckish or whether it is a big occasion, thumbs up

Had dinner there last night ,manager was very welcoming as were all the very attentive staff.I had the best minestrone soup I think I’ve ever tasted !! ,followed by a superb authentic thin crust pizza which was also fabulous.My mother had the fillet steak and salad and was also delighted as it was “cooked to perfection” and fantastic quality.The bill was also very reasonable .Highly recommended

Dined here last night and left without finishing the delicious bottle of wine we had ordered as my taste buds had been obliterated. Starter had so much salt that I had drunk the whole jug of table water to myself, then my pasta was so full of garlic that it literally burned my tongue - and I love garlic, but this was inedible. Told the waitress who couldn't have cared less. Horrendous attitude from staff. Would not recommend.

I’ve been coming for years. It has a lovely atmosphere and great food. It’s always a reliable meal out. Great selection of options on the pre-theatre menu which is very reasonably priced.

We happened upon this restaurant on a Sunday evening. It was off the beaten track and with an unassuming external facade. The food and service were excellent and we had one of the friendliest welcomes in a restaurant for a long time. Be careful you don’t set fire to your serviette on the candles!

Second visit to Pizzeria il Fiume.

Right from the beginning, I had a very pleasant experience. I was the first to arrive and the owner welcomed me. He was clearly testing out a salad that the chef had prepared and offered me some and asked my opinion!

We've just moved to Dumfries and this was our first night out as a family here. What a good choice! The staff were friendly without being overbearing and the food is lovely. Great choice and very reasonably priced. The house wine is lovely. We'll definitely be back.

The meal was excellent although the service was a little slow. The restaurant is comfortable with a friendly atmosphere and we shall definitely vet again.

We all enjoyed our evening meal at pizzeria il Fiume. Delicious food. We had nice food of the special menu. The staff were also nice.

We went for a quick meal of pizza and garlic bread. The pizzas werent bad slightly over cooked but the garlic bread was so over cooked there wasnt a soft bit on it and the middle was burnt in a circle. This has always been our favourite restaurant and we have always had good meals but this time they disappointed.

We visited this lovely restaurant on Saturday evening.From start to finish it was fab . We both opted for the seafood special which was sea bass and sambuca prawns . Ooh my goodness it was delicious .It's the best sea bass we have tasted in a long time . The service was excellent . Everyone was very cheerful and helpful . What a lovely evening we had .

Have eaten here many times over the years under different owners. The setting is nice at the Dock Park beside the River Nith. Booking necessary usually for the weekends.

Spent a night in Dumfries visiting family and struggled for a Saturday night reservation! Really glad our first choice was full as we ended up here. Really nice food and great service, especially from Stuart. Appetisers were very nice and the pizza was outstanding. Great food, great service and a really great price. Will definitely be back next time we are in town.

Have been here a few times before but ever time we go it keeps getting better! The food is lush and the staff are amazing with children. They take their time and don’t get upset if a child makes some noise. Lovely place to relax with the family and enjoy a gorgeous meal without getting rushed. Worth every penny.

Having spent hours in Dumfries hospital with new great grandson we were looking for a quick bite of food before heading home, I phoned on the off chance there might be a table available in 5 mins, and there was.

Not that impressed my carbonara was dry there was no sauce at all. I’ve eaten many carbonara in my time but always had a bit of sauce. The waitress wasn’t particularly friendly.

Ordered a takeaway pasta meal. Disappointed. Didn't appear to have any sauce with it. Tasted okay but not really what I thought I was ordering (a classic dish!) and it was very dry.

It’s not hard to do good Italian food. But for some reason so many get in wrong.

Dined there last night - another fantastic experience! Food and service was excellent. I can highly recommended the Fillet Steak with peppercorn sauce. Mazza kept us entertained 😀. Will definitely return on my next trip to Dumfries.

After walking what seemed to be the whole of Dumfries on at 6pm on a Sunday and finding nowhere open we were very happy to find this restaurant. Perfectly located on the edge idle a play park, so the kids could play while we waited for food. The staff were very welcoming and great with the kids.

My wife and I had another brilliant night at the Pizzeria tonight. We arrived at 19:30 and had such a comfortable night it was well after 23:00 when we left.

I cannot believe people are not giving this restaurant 5*. Excellent food and superb staff. Glad to see Dumfries No1 restaurant is back to its old self. Mazza and his staff are always first class.

My first time here again in about 4 years & I wasn’t disappointed. Even better was that we were able to take advantage of the early bird discount menu. Three courses for £14.95. Excellent value. There are even beef & seafood dishes which are no extra. I throughly enjoyed muscles to start which were in a spicy tomato sauce & it came with panzanella. Followed by penne beef with spring veg & garlic. For pudding I had chocolate fudge cake with vanilla ice-cream. Portion sizes were just right. Service was attentive & friendly. I will definitely come back to try their full menu.

Visited here on Thursday evening with a 20% off coupon only to be informed that they had changed it's name to pizza and pasta and no longer were offering the discount although they are still trading as the Pizzeria II Flume.

I booked the Pizzeria for a wedding anniversary dinner earlier this month and as usual everything was perfect from the minute we walked in to the minute we left.

Went in last night for dinner with my husband.Food was beautiful served with friendly and professional manner...can't wait to go back again.

My friend insisted we went there even though I wasn’t impressed with the recent reviews but I loved the experience from the moment I walked in through the door!
