Ak's Desserts in Dumfries & Galloway

Food was great, service very slow, to the point kids were agitated, 2nd visit first time wasn't long after it's opening and was just as bad but we gave them the benefit of the doubt with being new but sadly after a yr or so it's no better. Will I return?, probably not

The Hitching Post is everything you’d want in a classic American diner! The food is delicious, with generous portions and all the comfort food favorites done right. The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel right at home. The atmosphere is warm and nostalgic, perfect for a relaxed meal. Highly recommend stopping by—you won’t be disappointed!

A really good authentic family Italian restaurant - we absolutely loved it! This restaurant had wonderful food, we had the clam spaghetti and calamari which was excellent and then all had a pizza, amazing! We also enjoyed a delicious bottle of chianti. Good atmosphere with local people and tourists to the area and the staff were very professional and friendly, excellent service! If we were ever back in Dumfries we’d definitely go back.

We were in Moffat for the night and needed somewhere for an evening meal. We read the reviews online and booked a table, and I'm really glad we did, it was a lovely evening. We had starter's, mains and a cheeseboard, all of which were delicious. It's an old style restaurant which I think has been there forever, but don't be fooled by the decor, the food is fab and the staff are great and attentive.

First time there and was great food. Definitely going again
