The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

Now renamed, refurbished, under new ownership and operating as an Italian restaurant, so we thought we would give it a try for Sunday lunch. Four of us enjoyed an excellent meal. The food was tasty, well-presented, reasonably priced and arrived with little delay. The staff were friendly, accommodating and efficient without being intrusive. Our only suggestions would be - it would be nice if dogs could be allowed in the outside dining area, and please add ice cream to the dessert menu!

The reviews were so good so I expected a lot from The Studio Kitchen. On a positive the food was nice,we went for a build your own breakfast. But the service was not good,our waitress was actually quite rude,we had to wait a good while to keep getting her attention and each time she bought anything she literally slammed it down on the table! Sadly also both the orange juice and iced coffee were really not very nice . Maybe it was an off day as lots of people seem like they have had a lovely experience here .

Food was amazing, portions were huge! Great value for money. However.... front of house staff let the place down. Where was the service with a smile? Non existent. Staff seemed overly eager to get you in and out of the place as quick as possible. Literally sat down and they came over to take drinks order, then came straight back for food order when we had only just been given the menus. Food arrived fast but halfway through waitress bizarrely asked if we had finished when she could clearly see there was lots of food left on the table. Took ages to get another drink and order puddings too.

Nice meal but the restaurant upstairs was so cold it spoilt the evening for us. It made the food go cold quickly too. We did witness another table of guests being moved as they complained too. Very awkward to eat & relax with your big coat on! Also for such prices I would expect to have the table set or at least be given cutlery & napkins rather than have to walk down a set of stairs to fetch them! You would expect that at Wetherspoons but not a more expensive restaurant. Didn't have dessert as we just wanted to get home and warm!

Experiencia decepcionante de principio a fin. Después de leer las críticas, decidimos darle una oportunidad a este lugar. En el momento en que entramos, la camarera dijo que la cocina está cerrando en 5 minutos (la hora era 5 : 05 pm - la hora de cierre de google es 6 pm). Dijimos que no hay problema y procedimos a sentarnos. La comida llegó muy rápido. Durante toda la estancia, comenzaron a barrer, a demoler y a mover las sillas a nuestro alrededor haciendo un horrible ruido chillón. No había música, solo gritos en otro idioma. Además, los hombres seguían entrando en la zona de la cocina con ropa de fuera. (Posiblemente ropa de construcción). El ambiente era muy incómodo y no higiénico. Finalmente, mientras comíamos el camarero nos dijo que pagáramos ya que necesita cerrar la caja. Muy poco profesional, comida muy cara, y ambiente incómodo.

We've just came back from the restaurant. I can't describe enough how delicious our food was! All 6 of us enjoyed our meal a lot. We definitely will be back! Thank you so much! Would strongly recommend to visit this restaurant.

Visité San Carlo (Knightsbridge) recientemente disfruté de cada minuto de la visita. El personal es increíblemente educado, servicial, ayudando a las necesidades del cliente y muy bien informado sobre la comida y bebida que se ofrece. El bar está lleno y el personal sin duda le da a gente como Costa, Café Nero y Starbucks una carrera por su dinero cuando pides un café - de nuevo, increíblemente educado y servicial! La capacidad es amplia, con suficiente espacio para navegar en las plantas bajas y bajas cuando el restaurante está ocupado. La comida era fuera de este mundo y las porciones eran absolutamente perfecto - basta decir que disfruté de nuestro tiempo en San Carlo (Knightsbridge) y volveré a visitar muy pronto!

I’m not usually one to leave bad reviews — I know how tough it is for small businesses these days with the economy, rising rates, and all the challenges they face. I’ve been here before and always had a lovely experience: the prawns were delicious, the Prosecco was fantastic, and even during COVID, grabbing a coffee on a bike ride was a treat. On my recent visit, though, I was a bit let down. I ordered the mixed seafood pasta and was given gluten-free pasta (since they had no dairy-free alternative, due to my egg/dairy intolerance, which also cost extra). I wouldn’t have minded the extra if the dish matched past visits, but sadly, the pasta was soggy and the seafood mix was underwhelming — no prawns, which was disappointing. That said, the Prosecco (even if it’s pricey) was still totally worth it, and I’ll probably stick to that and some olives next time. I still want to support this local business — I know things like rising costs, post-Brexit sourcing issues for authentic ingredients, staff shortages, and the pressure on small restaurants are real challenges. I hope things pick up for them, and I’ll definitely be back for the drinks and atmosphere. Still would advise going, they have beautiful home made antipasti in the display which are nice....

Este es un restaurante increíble con personal amable y excelente comida. Vengo aquí a menudo y nunca decepciona! Realmente lo recomiendo si alguien está buscando un buen italiano!

Really good early Saturday meal, a relaxed atmosphere and great service. Graham was particularly welcoming and attentive.

Visité Sambuccas en Morpeth hoy con mi amigo y tuvimos una comida encantadora y un gran servicio. El restaurante tiene una decoración moderna y un ambiente acogedor. El personal era encantador y atento y amable y el propietario tuvo una charla encantadora con nosotros. Bueno, sin duda volveremos cuando tengamos otro día en Morpeth. Tuvimos el menú de la hora feliz y el personal estaba feliz de dividir nuestra pizza y pasta como mitad y mitad.

Buena comida y personal atento hace el trato para nosotros. Bert’s Pasta Bar es espacioso y atractivo y el personal era acogedor y servicial. Buena selección para vegetarianos en el menú - yo recomendaría la remolacha especiada y pitta de felafel - la pitta se hace fresca a lo largo de la carretera en sus otras instalaciones. También tomé una copa agradable de Valpolicella Ripasso, un vino lleno y afrutado. Nuestros dos cafés americanos eran un poco demasiado fuertes incluso para los bebedores experimentados, pero eso es una cosa muy menor. La comida fue una delicia total.
