The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

Novellos food was beautiful,service was great,food,potato skins are unreal but I left 4 starts because I was asked out by the waiter whilst I'm only 16.

First time visiting and we was not disappointed at all beautiful restaurant friendly pleasant staff we had the three course deal and food was beautiful I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return again soon

Nos mostraron a nuestra mesa por un miembro del personal muy acogedor y amable que poco después tomó nuestras bebidas y comida. Poco después de que nuestras comidas aparecieron y eran geniales los niños pizza era masiva si hubiéramos sabido que eran tan grandes que solo habríamos pedido 1 para compartir. Nuestras comidas también vale la pena una visita

I was taken here by my partner for my birthday dinner. We've actually been meaning to go for a couple of years but only now have got round to it. The wait was worth it. It was a Thursday evening and relatively quiet, but a nice atmosphere - the dining room is nicely decorated, catering for groups of different sizes, nicely lit and with period posters of Sicily around the walls. The eponymous chef says she wants to bring the food of Sicily to her restaurant and was inspired by the meals her grandmother cooked. As such the menu is not innovative or adventurous, but brings an authentic taste of Sicilian dishes. My partner started with calamari, which was nicely fried and flavoursome; I had fried haloumi, also very pleasant. We both had beef ragu to follow, which was tasty, well cooked and very filling! The big question was, did it taste like something our Italian mother or grandmother (if we had one) would serve up at home - well, yes, it did, so Rosanna is meeting her goal! A nice surprise was that, as it was by birthday, I was offered tiramisu on the house - and lovely it was too, delicate and very light. The wine list was the length one might expect at a small restaurant but was good quality, which is far more important than quantity. The waiter (Ayann?) was friendly, attentive and efficient. My only (very slight) suggestion for an improvement would be linen, rather than paper, napkins. My partner and I have enjoyed two lovely holidays in Sicily in recent years, and this was a very pleasant way to remind ourselves of this wonderful island. We will definitely not be waiting two years to go back to Rosanna's!

Table for four was very squashed behind the bar, despot being booked in advance. We waited a long time to be offered drinks and to order food. Once ordered, food arrived in reasonable time and was very good.

I was charged £13.90 (incidentally a different price than that given on the online menu) for takeaway melanzane parmigiana and the portion was tiny. The food wasn’t that great either. Very salty. Will not be going back.

Absolutely thrilled with our experience at Gallones Ice Cream Parlour for my daughter's 6th birthday party! The venue, which includes a fantastic party room next door, was the perfect setting for a memorable celebration. The incredibly energetic staff, Ellen and Mika, did an outstanding job keeping the energy high throughout the event. They expertly managed all the games, food, and ice cream making, ensuring that every child had a fantastic time. Their enthusiasm and dedication truly made the party special. What impressed us the most was their attention to detail regarding allergies and food tolerances. Everything was well considered and catered for without any issues, which allowed us to relax and enjoy the event without any worries. Overall, it was a very enjoyable event, and we couldn't be more pleased. We highly recommend Gallones Ice Cream Parlour for anyone looking to host a birthday party or event. Thank you, Ellen and Mika, for making our daughter's birthday so special!

If you want authentic homemade pizza this is a great place to be at. Perfect location with lovely staff members. Would highly recommend. Special thanks to Mathew for great service and recommending amazing food.

En gullig servitris, resten katastrof. En beef var små odefinierad köttbitar i en sås. Först fick vi inte byta smashed pitatis till pommes. Utan de skulle ta in potatisen ändå och debitera extra får pommes. Efter en diskussion, så gick det tror jag. Vi har inte fått notan ännu. Ingen sallad för ej köttätare. Det känns advokadosallad med kyckling och bacon. Efter liten diskussion gick det bra att ta bort kyckling/bacon och lägga till extra advocado ist. Sen fanns det ingen avokado, så då blev det ingen sallad. Till Teet fanns först honung, sen ingen. Efter att jag berättade att det borde finas honung i köket, så kom den.

Had 3 beers on tap from a menu of 10, none were any good. Roasting hot. No idea what's going on here. The beer was so bad a friend wound up with a bottle Amstel. Horribly expensive and like a sauna.

Literally the best breakfast I have ever had. My wife had the full English which was stunning but I went off piste and asked for toast with poached eggs and bacon. They did this with no quibble. When it arrived it looked lush and the taste even better. Lovely fresh orange, perfectly cooked eggs and the most delicious thick bacon. Absolutely divine!

We came here after attending the races for the day. We were a large group and very merry. The staff were brilliant and service was great! Food was delicious! We even enjoyed a shot of limoncello to finish our meal off!

No the same brilliant experience as the Galleria. Food OK but just a now normal wine bar with food. And no real atmosphere.
