Angelo's Ristorante, Bar and Grill in Preston

Angelo's offeres stanfard Italian food but also some dishes that you would perhaps not normally find ... a wonderful balck pudding starter, and a truloy yummy Italian Bread and Butter pudding. Service is friendly and very efficient. Atmosphere is good and allin-all it was a very enjoyble lunch

Went to Angelo's recently with a large group of friends for a celebration. I ordered the Mexicano garlic bread with red onions & chillies. Extremely tasty, so far so good, until my main course came, Cannelloni. Very small, very mushy, pretty tasteless. What a disappointment! Had I been just out with the other half, I would have definitely complained but because I was out with friends on a celebration, I said nothing so as not to put a dampener on such a good night. So, all in all, I've had way better food for less cost elsewhere. Avoid the mushy Cannelloni!

We had a small date night here tonight and were mostly served by Dimitros (sorry if this is the wrong spelling). Service was amazing and we were never left waiting for long without being checked on by either Dimitros or someone else. Food was absolutely amazing. I had penne arribiatta and my partner had pizza diavola. We had chocolate fudge cake and tiramasu for dessert. All of it was so good and we scraped the plates. Dimitros was friendly without intruding on our date and made us feel very welcome and taken care of.

Busy as expected on Saturday, we reserved and were quickly seated but on the wrong table which confused the staff a bit, and with no drinks menu. Took 15 minutes to get served (people who came in at that point got served too and received their drinks and starters after about 5 minutes) and a further 8 to get our starter. Drinks had to be asked about again which still came 5 minutes after the fact. Starter was really tasty, waiter seemed a bit lost/rushed and muttered under his breath a lot, also served by 4+ different people. Food took about 30 minutes, again it was really really tasty... as was the dessert which came on time. Aside from the really poor service the rest of the experience was great. I want to go back again to see if it was just a one-off as everyone else seemed to be served rather quickly.

Food was excellent, the chefs are especially good at cooking seafood. We ordered the muscles, Ribeye surf and turf and the Thai monkfish. The steak was amazing but the monkfish stole the show, it’s one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. Hats off the team as service was very good and they had 400 covers in for the evening.

We were extremely lucky to stumble upon this restaurant on our hunt for food. The food was the best tasting/dining experience we’ve had in a long time. For starters I had the salmon and prawns and my partner had the fried squid, the batter on the squid was just perfect and cooked exactly how we like it. Everything was so fresh and light. For mains I had the spaghetti bolognaise which was a solid 10/10, I don’t say this lightly (I take my spaghetti bolognaise very seriously) and was hit by the realisation we’ll need to make regular trips to Preston for our Italian fix. My partner had the pigs cheek and it was so soft and full of flavour I was blown away. I’d never think to try a dish like that but will most definitely be ordering it in future. We very rarely order dessert as we don’t have room but the food was that good we had to give it a try. Desserts I ordered the chocolate fudge cake with vanilla ice cream, again it was amazing and my partner ordered the tiramisu with a caramel ice cream and both plates were cleared. We were quite pleasantly surprised at how reasonably priced it was once the bill arrived! Overall SOLID 10/10. Shout out to the staff too, very lovely and friendly, a nice tatted gentlemen was offering us recommendations and such a nice genuine bloke. We will certainly be back! Whilst the food was excellent, please please keep an eye on what they are charging you for drinks. I was drinking rum and coke and was charged £5 each time, after 3 they tried charging me £9.30. When I put the bar tender on the spot he seemed vey sheepish and charged me £5 and didn’t offer any decent explanation. As a pace drinker I am no fool to this practice and have noticed this as a growing trend throughout the licenced establishments be warned.

Absolutely fabulous food. Made to feel welcome, lovely friendly staff. I would recommend to book in advance as very popular.

Attended Angelos for a works Christmas Party from the minute we walked in the whole atmosphere was rushed. Staff also rude. As we were a large party a few people did forget what they ordered for a second which happens. One waitress made it obvious that this was an issue and slammed the plates down and threw the cutlery on the table this was not by accident and made us very aware that we was a problem. Her attitude was disgusting and made us feel quite uncomfortable. We mentioned this to another staff member who then went and told the waitress and could clearly see that the waitress and the person We told was staring at the table laughing at us like it was funny. Nothing was resolved with this matter. Considering we paid a 250 deposit we did not feel welcome and I will personally not be returning. Food was less than average

We came here based on a recommendation from a friend who lives in Preston whilst we were visiting for the day. We were sat at a table looking into the kitchen, and it was a quiet Monday night with just us and another table in the restaurant. Me front facing the open kitchen witnessed the chef playing with his phone to then continue spinning pizza dough, handling pizza toppings whilst using his phone in between putting together pizzas. The same chef then stuck his fingers into his ears to relief a scratch and then yet again continued hand stretching pizza dough. After watching him stick his fingers in his ears and rubbing his nose I approached a front of house member as I was not going to eat a pizza cooked by this unhygienic chef especially knowing that he was not washing or cleaning his hands during this. The front of house waitress asked to go to the head chef to explain to him what I had sore. Whilst explaining the chef in question was still sat playing on his phone. Not even an apology or complimentary drink an apology from the front of house (we were having only soft drinks) Thankfully the head chef took over our cheque as otherwise we would have left. Very disappointing for an open kitchen, makes you wonder what goes on behind closed kitchens.

Always a fab atmosphere and lovely food however £9 for a glass of Rose wine and only one option so could not even choose from a selection seems very unreasonable - this is Preston not London!
