The best restaurants serving Italian food in Harrogate Yorkshire and The Humber

We had quite a mixed experience at Al Bivio, where we had to eat as the neighbouring Premier Inn had made a hash of their evening meal provision. We went on two occasions: an excellent pizza, with a generous home-made base, and a delicious pasta dish with chicken and white wine. However, from the Specials lists, a lasagne was quite tough, and my seafood risotto over-salty, though I would add that it was generously filled. A pet theme of mine: this restaurant is NOISY! Not one single absorbent surface anywhere, just a bare glass frontage and plain walls that reflect sound. Having a conversation in here feels like hard work.

Havent been here for a quite few months but was surprised by the fact it was half empty on a Saturday night at half term .It was always packed when the previous owners had it.Also completely gobsmacked by the hike in prices £20 for a pizza ,£6 for a pint of beer and £8 for a pudding!! No wonder it wasnt busy .Also the previous owners always used to have a wood fire burning but whenever Ive been here since it's always chilly. Food is ok but nothing to write home about -the pizzas have hardly any toppings on them even when you order extras so a pretty easy way to make a vast profit on a pizza. Its such a shame as it is the only restaurant in Pateley so youre stuck with it as the only option if you dont want pub grub.

So impressed with Valentino’s. They have their own very special version of pizza base, thin, crispy and delicious! The staff were so lovely and jolly and the restaurant has a good feel about it, with lots of happy customers. Laid back but higher end. I found the value for money to be very good. Will return. Thank you.

A lovely meal under the happy hour offer - starter and pizza for £14. Excellent value and pizzas were huge! Lovely food and very good service. Staff very pleasant. Would definitely recommend especially mon-Thur when the offers are on as would struggle to get same quantity and quality of food for same price elsewhere.

When we arrived at the restaurant, it was quite busy as it was Friday eve. We didnt have to wait and were shown to our table by the lovely Basat, she was so cheery and friendly. Our drinks were served quickly and our food came in a timely manner. Basat and Efe were very attentive, checking we were happy with our meals. Me and my wife both had pasta dishes, which were delicious and hot. Excellent food and service and definately will be going back.

Tasty food, and they have a vegan menu with a range of options if you ask for one.

Order took 1 hour & 25 mins after being told 30/45mins. Phoned twice. Not good customer service. Food finally arrived cold. No discount for late cold food agreed. Will not be ordering again! Have asked for manager of Harrogate store to call me.

Lovely friendly man served me lovely Canolli to take home. Lovely interaction and a pleasant first visit. Thank you. Nice place. Nice people. Nice Canolli.

November 2024. Dreadful. We waited an hour for food, looked like everyone around us was waiting as well. Didn’t even get apology or even some bread to tie us over. So can’t comment on food. We walked out. They were serving pizzas galore for a private function upstairs but sorry didn’t live up to the name.

What an excellent restaurant, great food, lovely staff. Not hurried service... definitely worth a visit
