Surely impossible to find better pizza anywhere in Brighton! The food is always delicious and the service is invariably swift, friendly and efficient. Negative reviews from those with no TA history can safely be ignored. VIP is nearly always full and it’s normal to see a queue outside the door so booking in advance is advisable. Highly recommended.

I ate there 30 minutes ago. The guy that runs it (and the place itself) is more Italian than Silvio Berlusconi driving a Ferrari to a bunga bunga party. The pizza is quite fantastic, in the Napoli style. Quality ingredients that speak louder than huge portions and crazy combinations. I’m a life long pizza fan and only here for 1 day on business. Last time I had pizza of this quality I was in Rome (it’s not the same style pizza, but the ingredient quality, the love and frankly, the prices are on par). Don’t sleep on this, I can’t believe the prices will stay so good for long - and honestly why should they. The owner deserves all the success he is owed and anyone walking through the door of this gem deserves some of the best pizza in the UK right now.

I can't believe there is even one negative review regarding food on this site. Kids yes, they are a bloody nuisance everywhere especially when their parents treat the place like a childrens' playground and, unfortunately, this is an area where 'little darlings' are allowed to 'express themselves'. However, for adults... As a semi-regular, I have always considered their pizzas not just the best in Brighton but just about everywhere. This was, nevertheless, the first time I/we - there were seven of us - had been for Sunday roast. Superb is an understatement. The portions were huge - I think I must have had half a splendidly cooked cow! - while others indulged in a mixed meat roast. The accompanying vegetables were more than plentiful and, despite, being tantalised by the dessert menu, unfortunately none of us had room. Drinks prices are a little steep for an out of city centre establishment but food prices are cheap by comparison and the quality is fantastic.

Booked here based on Google reviews and the first few photos of the food online. We have learnt a valuable lesson tonight never to do this again. Pretty dreadful experience right through from the cobwebs on the walls to the haphazard service, long waits and very poor food quality. 20 mins after ordering, we were told my main wasn’t available so had to change. Waited for drinks. Waited for wine. Waited for water. We waited for everything. 45 mins wait from being seated to starters arriving. Mushrooms floating in a watery cream sauce. Failed to pick up the garlic anywhere. Polpette half the size of the photos. Hard and very average according to the Italian I dined with. Asked for bread. Waiter ran to get some and never returned. Mains fared no better. Poor quality carbonara with guanciale not rendered out so just lumps of soft unappealing fat. Egg and pecorino cheese mixture through the pasta and poor effort to make an actual carbonara sauce. Half eaten and left. Likewise the amatriciana was just a tomato sauce without any hint of chili. And again lumps of guaniciale fat not rendered. Extra parmesan requested and arrived with waitress in bowl with teaspoon who proceeded to shake literally half a spoon on the carbonara and ask ‘Enough?’. She wasn’t going to leave it with us. Didn’t realise parmesan cost the same as gold. Both times the waiter came to clear the plates, asking ‘Good?’. We just mumbled words to get rid of him, not wanting to break his spirit. Table across from us got £50 off their bill as they waited so long for food (over an hour just for mains, no starters) and complained also about the quality of the food. So the experience was not just unique to us. We weren’t just unfortunate or unlucky. Amazed places like this stay in business so long. Whoever is giving them great reviews must have very low standards. After paying the £76 (incl 12.5% service), we vowed never to go back.
