Buon Appetito in Brighton and Hove

We tried this restaurant for the first time at the weekend and are pleased we did. The place has a good atmosphere .The food was very enjoyable and served by very pleasant staff.

Terrible terrible customer service. Food was fair. Warm glasses, no salt and pepper or Parmesan unless you asked. Wouldn’t recommend.

Great restaurant, super friendly staff and lovely food. The Calzone was to die for and great prawn cocktail starter. Lovely atmosphere too.

We booked for the restaurant next door but were late arriving and their kitchen closed at 9 so we went next door and are so glad we did.Nothing was too much trouble, the food and wine were excellent and we had a lovely evening. It's a family affair and it really shows in the warmth of the welcome,the service and the atmosphere . My wife is quite a fussy eater but she was so happy with what she had,pork with a cider and apple sauce, and couldn't praise it enough. We will definitely return on our next trip to Brighton.

A wonderful restaurant with amazing Italian food. We loved it all. Beautifully decorated for Christmas. The thing that really stood out was how friendly, welcoming and helpful the staff were. They catered for all our needs and requests and made us feel happy and relaxed throughout.

Such a lovely, family ran restaurant. The staff are so friendly, the food was amazing and fresh, plus it was really lovely to see people pop in to say hi to the staff so they must have a lot of regulars. Just loved the atmosphere of the place overall.

We loved our visit to Buon Appetito! It is such a pretty restaurant in a great location. The staff were so friendly and welcoming; nothing was too much trouble. The food was incredible as well. We can’t wait to visit again next time we return to Brighton.

We were staying four nights in Brighton .On the first evening we came across Buon Appetito and discovered what a good choice it was with excellent service a warm friendly welcome and very good food. We decided to use this restaurant every evening of our stay. We were never disappointed and enjoyed all four meals and evenings we spent there. They were very efficient with the covid rules ensuring customers safety at all times.

My partner and I ate here on our short break trip to Brighton, excellent family restaurant feel, food was superb we both had house specials and the service was perfect, you felt they really cared about the food and service, cannot recommend the restaurant highly enough

We had lunch at Buon Appetito this week and had a great time. The host/server Mauro was charm and cheek personified and the afternoon zipped along. The food was very fresh, cooked to order and so tasty. The covid secure arrangements were good, including hand sanitizer and track & trace forms. The toilets are spacious and clean. Our first time at Buon Appettito and on this experience it will be the first of many. Do your senses a flavour favour and go experience this charming independent restaurant!

We were meant to go to Italy earlier on in the year, but due to covid we couldn’t go, so decided whilst we were staying in Brighton to book an Italian, and as we had seen how busy this little place had gotten two nights in a row, we decided we would have dinner there on Friday night, and omg, the service, and the food was truly amazing, we both had 3 courses, I had a main from the specials board, and a bottle of wine, it’s definitely the place to go to for Italian food in Brighton, I would advise you book as it’s only a small venue and with the current restrictions they might not be able to accept a walk in. We will most certainly be back on our next visit! Something for everyone! The prices are also very reasonable. It’s run by one of 3 Italian brothers I believe and he and some of his staff used Italian phrases, some of which I knew the meaning off after picking up a few words in Italy last year, I was able to ask for my bill in Italian too, truly fabulous!

I always eat here it is my favourite restaurant in Brighton I never get bored with the menu as the specials are always changing. The staff are attentive and provide good nay excellent customer service. La camarera que nos atendió fue muy amable y profesional. Nos sentimos muy bienvenidos durante todo nuestro tiempo aquí.Para empezar, pedimos la Bruschetta. Fue tan bueno, con una focaccia recién hecha y perfectamente sazonada.Para el plato principal, tuve el Porcini Linguine, que estaba muy bien equilibrado. Eran tan cremosos y el sabor a hongos era sutil pero satisfactorio. La pasta parecía casera y tenía la cantidad perfecta de bocado.El desierto, tal vez la "pieza de resistencia", un Tartufo Clásico. El helado era tan suave y sabroso.El vino de la casa también era delicioso, definitivamente lo recomendaría.

Such a wonderful ambience and relaxing atmosphere...step into here and you could be in Italy itself! Mauro and Carletto are lovely people and fantastic hosts :) we recommend coming here if you love authentic Italian food cooked with good heart warming intention. Thank you! Just how an Italian restaurant should be - fairly cramped but cosy and noisy with the buzz of conversation - great wine, friendly service, superb pasta.

Visited on a Saturday evening and had a window seat. Very friendly welcoming staff. One of us had had carbonara and the other pasta with Italian sausage - both very nice. Presented nicely and reasonably priced.

La segunda vez que he comido en este restaurante para el almuerzo he tenido un plato de pasta (espagueti a la boloñesa) y pan de ajo por primera vez encantador. . . . . . . . 2ª vez tenía una pizza que era muy auténtica me encantó. . . . . . . . El personal es genial. En la segunda visita, llevé a 3 personas más conmigo y me preguntaron cómo funcionaba el trato, la comida tiene un precio increíble y 3 por pasta o pizza con un recargo por un plato un poco más caro o por cualquier lado, la confusión es que lo llaman un trato de comida . . . . . . . la bebida no está incluida pero tienes que pedir una para obtener el trato. . . . . esto no está claro y estaban un poco a la defensiva cuando se les preguntó a la hora de la factura, pero solo estaba preguntando por el resto de la fiesta, ya que creo que es muy razonable y delicioso. . . . . . simplemente explíquelo correctamente al principio, muchachos, el precio sigue siendo excelente, básicamente es 4: 99 para pizza o pasta y un vaso de coca-cola, limonada o jugo de bebidas embotelladas 2: 99, así que haga su comida 5: 99 una buena oferta de cualquier manera que mire y ambiente muy amigable. . . . . . bien hecho muchachos brava

Totelini is very good. Very authentic Italian restaurant, with amazing food. We tried the one of the best totelini dishes ever. Great service and good looking inside.

i was given literally THE WORST meal ever in a restaurant this evening.

We first visited 3 years back and loved the place so decided to go again on our recent visit to Brighton. We often find our second visit to such places to be a little disappointing due to our high expectations from the first visit but this place did not dissapoint. The food was amazing and the staff were impecible. Pizza and Pasta both brilliant in terms of flavour and texture and prices are very reasonable. Atmosphere very cosy. If I was a local I would eat here every week

We ate here 3 years ago. It was lunchtime and we did not want a large meal as we were meeting friends for dinner later on. This restaurant is fabulous, so friendly. The staff are great, and the meal deal is unbelievable for what they offer. Being vegan I had the Pasta Arrabiata and the owner (I think) made sure that the kitchen knew it was for a vegan. Both us really enjoyed our meals and actually sat a little longer to linger over another glass of excellent wine. Just love this place

Just returned from the restaurant after a beautiful meal served with perfect service. From start to finish, nothing but politeness and attentiveness. The food, freshly cooked, was utterly delicious. The young manager (Virgilio?) was a pure delight to chat with at the end of our meal. I promised 5+ stars and that’s exactly what I give, along with a promise to return next time we are in town. Highly recommended.

This was a seriously good experience, very engaging, but not intrusive staff and the Pizza was the best I’ve had for a long time!

Came for dinner while in Brighton, the restaurant is in a lively area and has a nice atmosphere. Nicely laid out with linen table cloths and spotless presentation. Staff were friendlly and attentive without being fussy. Menu is varied italian and all the food is freshly cooked with good ingredients.

Having returned from a holiday in Sorrento Italy late last night, I was feeling a little low. Also today was my late father's birthday. So I decided to take my mother out for lunch.

We spent the Bank Holiday weekend in Brighton with no plans on were we were going to eat. We went for a stroll on the Saturday evening and came across the restaurant.

They do a £3 lunch menu including a drink and it is without a doubt the best lunch deal around, they are very friendly staff and have lots of room inside to accomodate large parties! Me and my boyfriend have eaten here a lot ever since we found it. Very nice italian food at an amazing price for a lovely lunch portion. Great place for students and people who want good deals - would recommend.

Me and my girlfriend went to have a diner in this restaurant after a long day driving and visiting around . We had in plan to eat something which will include some sea food . After some time of waiting the waitress came to take our order ( we decided what to drink and to eat ) and after ordering the drinks when we wanted to order food as well he had told us that he cannot take the order and we need to wait for the other waitress. Why he couldn’t? After some times waiting for the drink which didn’t arrived , the 2nd waitress came and he told us that they don’t have nothing which includes sea food . Really? Why nobody said from the beginning to don’t waste our time for around 30 minutes.

Ottima cucina... Ottimi piatti italianissimi.. Abbiamo preso una carbonara, pennette con zucchine e gamberetti e una buonissima bistecca.. Il personale è italianissimo e il tutto è condito da una attualissima musica made in Italy ovviamente!! Lo consiglio!!

We found this restaurant casually, we eated pasta carbonara, pasta with zucchini and shrimps and a sirloin steak...after that we eat some desserts: tiramisù and one lovely different dessert! All these dishes were so delicious, served by a very very nice staff!!!

Visited this resturant when down in Brighton for my friends birthday . The food was delicious, we had the chicken which I cannot fault, the people sat next to us had pizzas which looked amazing. We shared a dessert profiteroles which the waiter had taken upon himself to put a candle in and play happy birthday over the speaker after hearing me mention we were celebrating a birthday . Nice warm friendly attentive staff.

Me and my partner visited for dinner here around 8pm. It looked quiet a sonly one diner was eating so was hesitant to go in but after checking reviews on trip advisor we have it ago. I'm so glad we did. The service was very good which you would expect when there was a service charge. The food came quickly and the portion of Veal milanese my parter had was huge it was served on a board which made it difficult for him to eat without it getting on the table. My bolognese was delicious and I was given the option of spaghetti, tagliatelle and linguine. The pasta was Al dente and delicious. Only down side was that it was served in a cold bowl and got cold quite quickly.

Found this hidden gem when we were looking for a nice restaurant.

After wandering around Brighton looking for an Italian for my other halfs birthday we stumbled across this amazing little restaurant! Authentically Italian, the staff were very attentive and polite, the food was absolutely amazing for a really reasonable price and we were very happy customers!

We had a really lovely early dinner. Staff were friendly and attentive. Starters and mains for all were authentic and tasty. Good portion sizes. Really great meal. Couldn’t fault it.

Went in for a pizza this lunchtime and was greeted with a pizza that literally had just one piece of pepperoni on it, that was cut into 8 little hair-sized strips (see picture). It was actually funny how little of my pizza was on my pizza. I mentioned this to the staff who shrugged and said "it is what it is". Had heard the place had slipped its standards in the last few months and it was disappointing to see that this really is the case. I wont be back.

Four of us had a lovely meal Excellent service, not at all pushy. Really good range of food. We all enjoyed our choices. Not cheap but not overly expensive

Four of us at here on a Friday night at the beginning of a weekend away. The greeting we received was superb, very friendly and lots of banter. The service we received was very attentive. The food arrived quickly and again it was excellent. The pizzas were enormous and the dough was perfect. One of us had the chicken Gorgonzola which was reported to be very tasty. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a genuine Italian experience.

I realy love to come here for food. 5 star for stuff as well. I recommend all the time if you wand to eat well and be serv in time and in good mood

Just back off the seafront this delightful little Italian restaurant was offering a Ford price lunch at £5.00 ! Amazing value. We had two Calazone pizzas and they were delicious The waiter was great. Welcoming and polite. Service with a smile. Highly recommended.

Me and my boyfriend were looking for a nude little non-chain restaurant. This looked small from the outside but inside it’s really big! The staff were all Italian which is a good sign and they were very friendly. The food was large portions and a decent price. I can’t remember the name of my dish but it was spaghetti with prawns, mushrooms and a creamy sauce. Would definitely go back if I’m ever in Brighton.

We (my girlfriend and me) visited early Sunday evening (7th October) before the restaurant got very busy.

Quand on se rend compte qu'on a pas mal trainé sur la digue et qu'à 21 h, le lundi, il n'y a plus grand chose ouvert pour se restaurer ,on se retrouve dans le premier italien qui veut encore vous servir.Et là ,divine surprise. Un accueil chaleureux, personnel très sympathique, la musique qui va bien avec le reste et surtout des pâtes au pesto dont ma chérie se souviendra très longtemps. Nous recommandons vivement !

A family run Italian Restuarant ran by Maun who’s does a 1st class job ,all the staff are really lovely,polite and attentive...the menu has a great choice..,.the food is excellent, great value for money...this is a restaurant that must be tried ....

Eight of us set out together to eat, several nights ago, whilst on a trip to Brighton. We were just trawling the streets local to where we were staying, looking for anywhere that could accommodate all of us on spec, and were lucky enough to come across this absolutely delightful family run Italian restaurant.

Visited this charming restaurant on the Sunday evening of Brighton Pride 2018. Clean, pleasant and unpretentious. Lovely staff, polite, friendly, helpful, attentive yet unobtrusive. Ok so you go to a restaurant for first and foremost for food and so that is what I will start with. It was fine, but not exceptional. We had a salad tricolour to start with: the mozzarella was standard not creamy and cold - to draw out the flavour this dish needs to be room temperature. For a pasta course my son had a pesto sauce which was very garlicy and the pasta was distinctly al dente as was my wife's. My gluten free pasta and sauce was good.

Popped out for a quick take away lunch, hankering for a good spag bol, I didn't get one! Instead a tray full of spaghetti mixed with a couple of tablespoons of sauce. So basically a huge tray of tasteless spaghetti. Went straight in the bin.
