Al Forno Pizzeria in Brighton and Hove

Even when restaurant was not busy, I had to wait long for the food. Rude waiter or owner whoever it was. Highly not recommend!

After our fresh and tasty pizzas, we’ve got cheesecake and tiramisu, which we highly recommend. Brilliant food, great seating and the staff have so much care and kindness for the customers. Perfect for a nice dinner out with family. We haven’t been before and were really impressed. Thank you! We will definitely be back!

I'm sorry but what is the hype about here?? The place practically gassed you with garlic smell constantly, the tables are totally cramped and the food takes half a lifetime to come. When it does it's bland mozzarella and salami meat and cardboard cheese on bland dough. It was honestly the worst Italian I'd been to for a long time. Not worth the hype at all.

It's the ideal spot for a family dinner that leaves everyone smiling and satisfied. Their homemade lasagna is a must-try, as well as the tiramisu. Overall a great experience with variety of choices for all kinds of preferences

Me my partner went into day brought a dessert to take away had dessert was so nice yummy we went back in the evening and had a lovely pizza drinks and more dessert the place is super clean and tidy that's what made us want to go into there the quality of the pizza is the best I've tasted super frash ingredients will definitely be coming back

Nice little place, food was lovely but just felt abit rushed… our mains were on the hot plate while we were still finishing our starters (maybe it was because they were busy and needed to free up tables) Still a lovely place and the staff were nice too.

Really nice Italian, open til 12am which is a massive plus. My mozerella carroza was really nice and the portions were really good size. My boyfriend liked his spaghetti bolognese too. Had 2 of the same cocktails for £15 which was good. Didn't try the pizzas but definitely would come back. Waitress was very nice too.

If you like frozen toppings on doughy pizza, this place is for you. Basically tastes like fast food/kebab shop pizza….girl serving was on her own, doing a great job but having to work very hard trying to keep everyone happy. Kitchen looked like they didn’t care.

What a lovely discovery; just two mins walk from our guest house and liked how it looked through the window so we cancelled our Prezzo booking and came here instead. We weren't disappointed - great service, lovely food and a lively vibe. We will be back.

Despite being a pizza place, I went there for the desserts. After dinner, we were rather full, but on the walk back to town, we noticed this lovely chic place. We just have room for desserts, however there is a very nice smell coming through and the place is very appealing. We ordered Nutella pizza. The flat bread is the greatest we've ever had, and it tastes really well. They also generous amount of Nutella topping. The price is also very affordable. The staff is incredibly attentive, and they opened late—around 11 p.m. Thus, if you're in the mood for some pizza or dessert late night, I highly suggest checking this place out. I will definitely go back again for proper pizza.

Very tasty pizza and marvellous cocktail

We took our friends here after having several good takeaways, but sadly we felt the service was very poor. It was a quiet night, but took a very long time to have our order taken and to be served food. The food was ready at different times, which meant my friends pasta was sat for about 10 minutes before we received our pizzas. We had some leftover pizza we asked to be kept in a box, but they threw it away in error. The food was nice, but the service really let us down.

We went on a very wet Thursday as we didnt want to walk any further than we had to . previously tried other nearby restaurants ,but this is really good no pretension just really nice people making ,and serving , really nice food.We are both vegetarian and the choice of vegetarian offerings was outstanding. My wife left her gloves ,and they ran after us to return them. We will definitely return next time we are in Brighton.

Randomly discovered this gem. I’m no pizza expert but I did try some of the best Pizza spots in Napoli and still would say this is the best pizza I had in years. Try pizza Lucca - 10/10.

Went with friends for a Saturday lunch treat. This place is fabulous , they are super dog friendly and gave my little pooch a water bowl and some treats. We all had pizza, amazing thin base and plenty of toppings…delicious!, Service was outstanding, friendly and efficient and the prices are very favourable. We will be back.

Superb pizza cooked in a proper oven. Lovely staff and great prizes. The Florentina pizza was cooked perfectly with the yolk still runny, which is always a sign of pizza professionalism!

One of the best and unusual pizzas I've had...it had sweet little red things on...so juicy, lots of garlic too...and a pizza was enough for 2 of us. Doggy was given a warm welcome...I can't wait to go back

What a fabulous pizzeria Nicely furnished Great service Excellent choice of pizzas with huge amount of gluten free and vegan options. Pizzas were superb hot crispy and full of flavour Starters also very good / calamari cooked well. First time here today and already looking forward to coming back. The food tasted amazing and portions were generous. Great variety of vegan options too. Very cosy and relaxed atmosphere, dogs are welcome too which I think is lovely! All the staff are super friendly and laid back, I felt very comfortable there. Great prices too, I would have paid more. Can’t wait for next time!

Ate there for my Husband's Birthday meal during our trip to Brighton. Very good food and the team are efficient, friendly and attentive. We also had breakfast there which was good that's what made us return for Dinner. Can't recommend enough. Many thanks

Popped in here by chance whilst walked from town to marina. Had breakfast. Coffee was excellent. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Water was bought to the table without asking - I loved that. Food was very good and well presented. The restaurant has a nice feel about it. We would definitely return.

I received appalling service this evening. I ordered a pizza and dessert via Uber eats. My pizza was cold, and frankly very average, the mushrooms tasted like the tinned variety and my dessert was missing. Apon delivery, I called the restaurant to inform them, I was told bluntly to reorder the cheapest item on their menu so they could send another driver to me! Utterly ridiculous. I was told they where unable to refund me, or send my dessert in some way. To summarize. Very average pizza, and appalling service. I won't be entering this restaurant, so can't comment on the 'atmosphere'.

Looovvvveeeddd it! The restaurant it’s quite petit, but great flavor! The menu offers a lot of Vegan/ Vegetarian and Gluten free options! So that was great. Our pizza was delicious and definitely extended the expectations and w vegan cheese. We ordered the Al Pollo one (recomend it) The staff was the nicest! The waitress SO attentive and polite! I don’t remember her name but def hard working. For the price, for me a traveler was quite expensive and we ordered a Pizza and a glass of wine at it was £22 pounds. No desert no more drinks. So yeah :( They deliver in Uber eats and it was full of orders. The door kept opening. We went at night and it was packed, luckily we could sat down. But the wait was about an hour if there’s no more space. BE WARE. As it was a small place the noise was quite overweight, but the food made up for it. The decor is really nice. Definitely recommend

The pizza in Brighton is the AlForno pizza. Because having excellent service. It also offers a variety of pizzas, it also serves various dishes and also delicious desserts. I recommend that everyone to stop by.

There were 3 or 4 small tables dining in on tuesday night, and all of us were looking at eachother waiting to be noticed and served while the 2 waitresses prioritised Deliveroo orders the whole night . The music turned off when we sat down and was off for an hour until just as we were leaving. The food was good but took a long time to get through because the waitresses had their backs turned to us the whole time. Had to ask for water, had to remind the waitress twice for one of our fruit juices, starters, mains and dessert plates left empty each time on table for a long while before they were cleared and next courses were ordered, had to ask for the bill, twice.. and still had to pay 10% service charge despite the bad service.. Can get better pizza elsewhere- wouldn’t go back. Customers taking the journey and dining in as well as paying a service charge should be prioritised over Deliveroo orders from customers who aren’t there and also not paying tips

Excellent food and great staff.

So pleased to have many gluten free options - and they were amazing! The pizza is the best gluten free pizza I’ve had outside Italy. There were also many gf dessert options and my partner (not gf) had a beautifully authentic pasta dish and the homemade Tiramisu which was sublime ( I was super jealous!) Lovely service too, would describe the place as busy for a Tuesday evening, but I can understand why. Highly recommend.

The best vegan pizza I have EVER had! The vegan options are fantastic and the food tasted amazing. Wish this restaurant was located near me, but I would end up eating pizza all the time.

A great place to eat with a good varied menu of tasty food. A good beer selection too and excellent service.

A really great pizzeria, they cook pretty fast meaning you don’t have to wait that long for it, and there are a lovely selection of pizza styles and toppings. Me and my girlfriend got gluten free seafood pizzas, which had muscles, prawns, squid rings on it. I feel the gluten free base could be made thicker and the crust made to be puffy like normal pizzas are. Otherwise everything was fantastic!

Al Forno is a busy and popular pizza restaurant that offers an extensive range of options. I went for the vegetarian Greek pizza, which was delicious and served up straight from the oven, cooked to perfection. The pizzas are large and very filling, but be sure to leave room for dessert! I had the tiramisu, which was delicious and also a large portion. The staff are friendly and welcoming and service is quick. The only very slight criticism I have is that the pizzas are served on a piece of paper, laid on a wooden platter. I’m sure this is for reasons of hygiene or something, but the paper has a tendency to get cut up and come away with the food, which is irritating. But don’t be put off, Al Forno is well worth a visit and you will leave satisfied and very full!

Always call here when we visit our son in Brighton. Great food and great staff.

Went there only to get a pizza for takeaway but the waitresses were really nice! Also the pizza was really good, would 100% recommend!

Nice pizza and 2 for £15 on cocktails we enjoyed. Unfortunately they were very swamped with almost non stop deliveroo orders which detracted from the atmosphere and service so we had trouble getting attention and our side salad was forgotten.

Just popped in on the off chance at 7pm on a Saturday night and got a table straight away. Service was incredibly fast, and I ended up with one of the nicest pizzas I’ve ever had! Pizza al funghi- and there were tons of mushrooms of different types as well as truffle oil. Great place!

For a Monday evening the restaurant was busy, the staff were friendly & didn't stop serving, the 12inch pitzas were amazing,the best I have ever eaten, at a very good price, we had the pino blush wine which also was at a very good price for a restaurant. The ambiance was very nice with music on in the background, & the seating was comfortable, I personally would highly recommend a visit, it made our holiday.

The pepperoni pizza was nice but maybe not the right choice for me. Too much cheese. I prefer the more traditional pizzas. I ate alone and the pizza was massive for 1 person. You could easily share 1 pizza between 2 people. The green smoothie was very nice. Service was fine.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Al Forno Pizzeria, it was pretty good. The pizza was yummy and the service was excellent. I had the al funghi pizza with caramelised onions, which was pretty good. The crust was thin, fluffy, and the sauce was flavorful and not too acidic. We had chips on the side, which were cooked perfectly. The service at Al Forno was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and kind, and she made sure that we had everything we needed. Overall, I had a good dining experience at Al Forno Pizzeria. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the food arrived swiftly. For the quality of the pizza, I’d expect it to be cheaper. That’s where they lose a point.

Nice venue with a good atmosphere. The pasta was pretty good, but thought the carbonara was a little bland. Service was pretty good, but served warm sparkling water. Ordered the tiramisu which was very disappointing as the cream was far too thick and heavy and did not taste good.

Ate here whilst staying in Brighton. It’s small and I’d recommend booking - saw plenty of people being turned away. An extensive menu and great cocktails. We had the cheese and onion garlic bread to start and that was amazing! I then had the Haiwaan and my daughter had the margarita. Both huge and delicious! Would highly recommend - the waitresses were very friendly too.

We spent a happy lunch time here and tried a good selection of their fare. It’s more like a European Café rather than a restaurant but with charm and friendliness. Pizzas excellent, pastas well presented and fresh salads (with extras of calamari friti and butterfly prawns which were probably not made on the premises but perfectly good). This is a pizza restaurant (with a genuine pizza oven) that enjoys a steady trade in delivery pizzas so expect the main door to open and close regularly to provide couriers with their customers meals. If this bothers you then try to get a table near the back, there are at least eight covers away from the main door, but in all honesty the atmosphere is very like the kind of place found in Milan or Bologna where the bustle of meets, greets and fast food add to the character of any Italian eatery. So, we liked it but it won’t suit everyone. We’ll be back soon almost certainly. Sunday lunch for four, 2.30 to 4pm, Three large Peroni, two large glasses of Rose, £140 including a £11 tip over and above the ‘dine-in’ service charge (but I suspect the staff get little of it)

I didn't eat on this visit, but the meals did look wonderful. Super friendly staff who work hard to make sure you enjoy the occasion. Be aware that the 'single' toilet is down a flight of 4 or 5 stairs. Would definitely recommend, if only for the staff.

I had an absolutely delightful experience at Al Forno! The garlic bread with caramelized onion was a delicious and unique treat for start, and for the main we had the Daisy Vega pizza which amazed me with its outstanding blend of flavors, and the perfectly crafted dough added an extra layer of deliciousness to the experience, both options were from the vegan part of the menu. We finished with a Lemon Swirl Cheesecake which was delicious and also on the vegan side. The staff provided brilliant and friendly service, with Pinar going above and beyond to make our visit memorable. I can't wait to return for another scrumptious meal!
