The best restaurants serving Italian food in South East

There can be very few restaurants as good as this left in merry old England. Reasonably priced and no screeching music being blasted at you either. I had prawns to start which were massive and beautifully cooked. Friends had a variety, all of which were praised. I had liver and bacon done Italian-style. Perfect. Desserts were beautiful. In an era where celebrity chefs are charging a fortune for sub standard cooking, this restaurant deserves every accolade. I cannot recommend it enough. Don't wait - go now.

As others have observed similarly, I thought I had time-warped back into the 1980s. Pine furniture and piped saxophone. That aside, the food was generally fine, the service efficient. It tries to be authentically Italian: the minestrone soup and penne con funghi were excellent (and piping hot) but the penne with vegetables - including sautéed potatoes - is redolent of 'meat and 2 veg' of days long gone. Quite reasonably priced though. I got the impression that the core clientele are local retired who appreciate what it has to offer and evidently bring in sufficient business. I was in the area for work and needed somewhere to eat; this was acceptable but if there's another time I would probably try somewhere else.

Great everything. Food service, food menu, ambience, location, and more. Our waitress was very friendly and talkative, lol. But in a very nice way. She made us feel very welcome.

We go for Mother’s Day dinner every year my grandmother has dementia and will only eat pasta with Alfredo which they have always accommodated. But unfortunately we had an older gentleman server who seemed irritated to be there let alone wait on us he was not kind or friendly but very abrasive and fast. When we asked for the specialty food he refused said no exceptions menu only. Which this has never been an issue before and would have been okay if he wasn’t indifferent and not personable. He also didn’t box or ask if we needed bags for all the food we took. With that being said the food was of course excellent but the aggressive service set the tone and set the vibe for our dinner.

Fui a desayunar y tomé un café con pan casero cubierto con salmón, aguacate, tomate y ensalada. Los ingredientes sabían tan fresco y la porción era masiva - me quité la mitad y tenía para el almuerzo, tan increíble valor. Esta será mi opción cuando esté en Oxford en el futuro.

Really good place. The gentleman who owns the place was very friendly and welcoming. He was conversational and we had a great discussion. The atmosphere was perfect. Good background music. Though there was no Pizza on the menu, nonetheless the exceptional pasta made up for it. Recommend for anyone looking for an Italian. Lives up to its 4.7/5 hype. A big thank you to the owner. I will come again. I have not tried Pasta this good in Italy or in New York City!

Disappointing - ordered the chicken and pasta - and red wine- Montepulciano (that was OK). Service was good, but food below average enormous piece of dried fried chicken - pasta with a little sauce and chunky bits of salad - very difficult to eat and the whole dish looked dry and uninviting - this is the third time I have visited there and been disappointed, for the price I expected better won’t be back.

Such a varied menu, something for everyone. I’ve had pizza, pasta, seafood and steak here and always delicious. Good variety of wines as well.

Excellent Italian food in a charming restaurant with lovely ambiance. Attentive service, delicious dishes, good portions and good value. Easy parking. Perfect!

Over 20 of us visited to celebrate my 50th birthday and we had the best night! Food was amazing, service was excellent and the atmosphere was 10 out of 10. After our food, the music was turned up and we had the best night dancing away and had such fun with the waiters. Thank you to Puntos for making it such a special night. Highly recommend visiting this restaurant, you won’t be disappointed! A little gem that you must visit.

Lovely little restaurant, amazing food and friendly staff. Went here on a recommendation and so pleased we did. Delicious olives and the fish for main was perfect. We will certainly be returning very soon.

Very good restaurant with very good food. We visited here on a Friday afternoon. We chose off the 2 course set lunch menu £18.50. It was well presented, cooked just right and tasted delicious. We chose a bottle of Sanglovese which complimented the meal well. The service was good and friendly.

Was staying nearby, and saw the reviews were good when looking for somewhere to eat for an evening meal. The reviews were certainly accurate, with great food and welcoming staff. Would definitely visit again if finding myself nearby again in the future.
