We've walked past Il Capitano many a time , it's always busy . I now know why , tbh I'm not the biggest pizza fan . We got a caprese salad and garlic bread starter . Which is basically a pizza base with garlic and cheese topping . It's got to be one of the nicest gbs I've ever had . We bothe went for pasta dishes for the main course . Both the con fungi and ravioli were 10/10 freshly made pasta , beautiful. Although we never had a desert , they did look very nice to . Deffo be going back

We had a family party at my home for my Mum's birthday and ordered a few platters of sandwiches and grazing meats. We were so impressed with the variety of food we were given, the quantity and the superb presentation. The scotch eggs are amazing! It was so easy to lay the platters onto the table and let our guests dig in. There were lots of oohs and aahs and very little wastage as everything was so delicious. I can't recommend these caterers enough. They are now my go to place for future occasions.

First time visiting so not sure what to expect, we got 2 slices of pizza and nachos, I got meat feast, wife got chicken & sweetcorn (with added onion) nachos arrived first followed by the pizza. Slices were about 1/3 of a XL at a certain ‘spot pizza delivery’ served with dips as well. Drinks were a bottle of zero San Miguel (only zero beer they had, but it’s one of the nicer ones) and 2x187ml wine. All came to £25 so not too expensive for Southport and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. We sat outside on a glorious Wednesday evening. Well recommended.

Best restaurant in southport for Italian needs. I had the pizza and was by far best pizza Ive ever had. Girlfriend had pasta and that was 10/10… will definitely be coming back here

Pasta 51 Express was fabulous ! Freshly cooked Italian food in a market environment. Southport market is made up of a myriad of kitchens with central seating and a huge affordable bar in the centre . Can’t rave enough about the freshly cooked spaghetti bolognaise at Pasta 51 Express. What a hidden gem the whole market is and so competively priced! Well done Southport .

There was 3 of us and each order of drinks were different. Bar service was awful so slow. There was a girl playing a guitar and singing well if you could call it that it was atrocious so out of tune. We were glad when she packed up and left. Definitely won't be going here again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone either.

We hadn't eaten at Gusto for a while and when we walked in somehow it felt different. The young ladies who served us were very pleasant and helpful and our food, 2 of the 3 dishes, were excellent. The 2 were 'Vegetali Parmigani' and Lasagne al Forno (meat variety); the disappointing dish was the veggie lasagne which was rather swamped with tomato. Then I realised that I hadn't seen Giorgio so I asked where he was; he has gone! That is what felt different. He didn't do much 'front of house' but we always appreciated his smiling face and friendly welcome; also, he mixed the best ever Campari Sodas. Wil we return without Giorgio? not sure yet. Arrivederci Giorgio and grazie!
