Friendly staff, great food, great service

The food was lovely no problem with that, but the background music is far too loud for people dinning and trying to have a conversation, plus when we asked one of the waitresses what the soup of the day was instead of stopping at our table to tell us she kept on walking as she told us but we couldn't quite catch what she said so we had to ask her again is it not polite manners to stop at the table when a customer asks a question. I will go back but I expect a better experience from some of the staff

Just moved to Crosby and had our first evening out here. The staff were great and the food was brilliant. Will definitely be going back.

Came here for my birthday and it was lovely, food was amazing and staff were very helpful. Shaneen and Gary were great as always, and made sure our visit was special. We didn’t have a cake but the staff brought out a plate of fudge brownies to sing happy birthday to me, without being asked which was a lovely surprise. Slay Shaneen, promise I’ll bring you a slice of birthday cake next year ! x

Booked with 10 minutes notice for a family of five. Table was ready on arrival and staff were so friendly. Mentioned it was my sisters 50th and they arranged a rendition of happy birthday with her dessert. We arrived at 5.45pm and were able to order off the happy hour menu which was amazing value. The food choice was excellent and all dishes we ordered were delicious. Service was great and the atmosphere was very relaxed. Tiramisu was lovely! Would definitely return if we are back in that area. Thank you

Amazing staff, really ensuring everything was perfect. Hostess Shaneen really made us laugh and gave that extra special touch. Food was tasty as well but would go back just for the atmosphere alone.

Nice place, lovely friendly staff. We only mentioned my partners mustard allergy after the starter had been served and the staff could not have been more accommodating - they swapped the starter with a safe topping, and also provided an allergy matrix to allow a different main to be chosen. Very professional service! Will definitely be going again.

Space was limited, elbow to elbow, time was limited and abruptly cut short. The special dish of the day. Hmm was throw on the plate no were near to the pictures they post. Bland and overcooked fish. Sorry won't be recommending to the thousand of tourists I take around the city.

Only small restaurant so worth booking in advance. The food is to die for, the service is second to none and the staff are ever so friendly. This is our new go to place to eat can't praise this place enough. Make sure you go there you won't be disappointed. There is limited parking in front of restaurant but there is a LBC pay and display car park 2 /3 minutes walk away

Just popped in on the off chance and were accommodated, food was excellent ( I had the pork steak grande ) beer served in a chilled glass and the staff were professional, polite and friendly. Couldn't fault our evening !

Consistency of same dishes between visits lacking, food is OK but not spectacular, bit expensive for portion size. Service patchy. Error with bill, although fixed when pointed out. Used to be better I feel.

Judge for yourself , we wouldn't personally go back. This place used to be brilliant back in the day. Starter was below average no taste gloopy sauce 1 avercini ball. Smallest thing iv seen on a plate , especially when u have been to the docks and got much better and 2 of them. No where near on taste and presentation . ANYWAY service is good staff work well together. Place wasn't that busy . Husband dissapointed with pate same very small for the amount of bread u gave him with the smallest of pot of pate. Steaks husband stated his was fatty and sauce was terrible. Mine was actually nice but could do without the whole onion cooked and put underneath it less is more. That put me off as pate was covered in onions. Wouldn't rush back at all I would say the food has took a dive for me personally . This is the second time iv tried as last time family meal was disappointing also . So I will not be venturing bk now

We had often heard how fantastic The Fat Italian is so we decided to go there for my 70th birthday celebrations. What a treat it was too, the staff were so friendly and fun, very helpful with the menu choices and just so attentive. Our meals were delicious. my husband and I chose the Slow Cooked Lamb with mashed potatoes and green beans, my goodness, it was so delicious and tender, the lamb melted in your mouth, Ste had the Sea bass,Mark and Kim had pizza's, they all said it was beautifully cook and tasty. Will definitely be eating here again and would recommend this outstanding restaurant to everyone, well done Fat Italian.

First time here absolutely lovely food definitely be returning staff lovely. The guy is very helpful and a lovely bubbly nature about him so warm and welcoming. Thankyou for a lovely 🥰 night

I love this place. They do some great deals. There's an early bird deal every evening before 6pm. Additionally, they do different deals on different nights eg: Thursday is a steak night (The steak is delicious!). Both food and service is excellent and staff are so friendly, plus the atmosphere is usually great.

I found the food to be nothing special to be honest tasted better and had better more enjoyable experience in other places

Have dined at The Fat Italian at Burscough on numerous occasions and after a day at Crosby beach booked an early evening table at the Crosby restaurant. Perfect end to a lovely day which prolonged our holiday vibe. We do have some gems on our doorstep in the NW. Relaxed atmosphere, great service and delicious food. Got the choice of two fantastic Italian restaurants now and would recommend either without hesitation.

Nice food, nice staff, reasonably priced. Recommended booking in advanced as it is fairly small inside but nothing too cramped.

Just been for my mother's 80th birthday. Staff were very attentive and accommodating. Food was great too and good value for the quality and service. Had a great time, would highly recommend.

Really disappointing. Caesar dressing wasn’t fresh it was literally salad cream from a bottle and not nice at all for near 14 pound.

Fabulous evening with excellent service and friendly and relax staff. One party member is coeliac and nothing was too much trouble. Extra attention given to said member to ensure their food and evening was worry free. The whole party had a wonderful time with the staff and the food was exceptional

We called in here May bank holiday weekend, after a day out at Crosby beach. We hadn't booked, but were welcomed and taken straight to a table by Shameen. Rochanne mainly waited on us, and was absolutely lovely from the minute we sat down until we left. She was also was very sweet and attentive to our five year old little girl, wh8ch made us feel welcome and relaxed. James also waited on us and they both regularly checked in with us about our meals, and kept our drinks topped up... excellent service from them both. My husband had the sticky chicken starter and said it was fabulous (a very generous portion). I had the crab and prawns on smashed avacado, and iceberg lettuce, which was just bursting with flavour, and was also a generous portion. I told Rochanne that it was the tastiest starter I'd ever had and to please pass this onto the chef. My husband then had the beef lasagne, and I had the seafood pasta. We both agreed that the flavours, texture and taste were absolutely spot on. The portion sizes were so generous that we were fit for bursting, and my husband was even defeated and couldn't quite finish his off. Our daughter had the kids "fish goujons meal", and again couldn't finish it as the goujons were actual fillets in a delicious tasty homemade crumb, so there was no way we were wasting them, and so took them home in a box. (My husband had them for his supper on tiger bread later that night and said they were the poshest kids fish fingers he'd ever tasted hahaha)!! We had a break, a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, then enjoyed the Dime bar sundae, kids ice cream and the luxurious "Afgogato" (espresso/ice cream delight recommended by Rochanne). The decor is very nice and has a lovely ambience, and just as importantly, the toilets were IMMACULATE (possibly the cleanest I've ever seen in a restaurant). It was nice to feel relaxed, and very welcome. The young staff here clearly enjoy their jobs and are capable of keeping up the expected "excellent standards" of an Italian eatery in a prominent position in a seaside town!! All in all, we came away 100% satisfied that we'd had a lovely late lunch/early tea, value for money, and "service with a smile" from all the management (Alex) and staff. There was a definite proud feeling from the staff as they told me about the Italian chef "Franco" that set up his restaurant many years ago. I think they're doing a great job in keeping his legacy going. We'll come here again for sure if we visit Crosby in the future. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Excellent food. Lovely restaurant. We had the Early Bird Menu. Each meal (4 of us) was fantastic. Look forward to our next visit when we're back in Liverpool.

Disappointed I am having to give poor review, but consider before going if you are vegetarian or vegan. Over priced, portion small hubby had to go chip shop on the way home. The bruschetta with goats cheese was a small piece of bread with cheese on top, the bread was not grilled or toasted £8.95 poor. Vegetable cannelloni tasteless, hubby's pasta with goat cheese Luke warm both dishes £14.95 same prices as meat or fish dishes. On a positive the serving staff where great! Foods let's place down, not the fat Italian we know so will not be going back

This is a fantastic restaurant I visited with a friend after doing some shopping a week or so ago ( the pics popped up in my memories so I'm writing this now only because I went in to a food coma after visiting 🤤🤣) it was quite busy but happily fitted us in without a booking ( it was the last available table I will book next time just to be safe ) I ordered the duck starter a lasagna and the chocolate brownie all the food was impeccable sorry I didn't photo the starter it smelt soo good when it came to the table I totally forgot to take a pic 🤣 and it was as good as it smelt I loved the crispy seaweed / kale ( it was one or the other ) the lasagne came to the table bubbling and was nearly perfect maby a little more seasoning and mince but (make sure you have a big appetite) it's a monster size really deep and super saucy I had to use my second stomach for my pudding but it was no problem because the chocolate brownie was warm gooie yummyness with the ice-cream hot cold contrast the best Finnish for a brilliant meal check back was done for every course and drinks kept topped up fantastic customer service will definitely be going again soon payday Friday hopefully I can book in for Monday because unfortunately I'm in work the weekend in hospitality myself and really would say it's the best place I have eaten in a long time ( going to be dreaming about that meal tonight salivating now 🤣)🤤🤤🤤😆

Great Italian near to Crosby Village. Very busy on a Friday I visited for my Niece's 18th with a fun, lively atmosphere. Food was great and the staff are quick, attentive and very welcoming. Recommended.

Booked in as a large party (20+) for a birthday. As a result we were told we had the table for 2 hours which is fine if the service speed matches this. Unfortunately there were delays between courses and service was generally slow and as a result we didn’t even get to order dessert and was told we had to finish up after mains had been eaten so no dessert, coffee or birthday cake! Staff were friendly but food was average and nothing to write home about. I ordered the slow cooked lamb which was supposed to be with a mint jus but there was no mint anywhere near it and by slow cooked they must mean over cooked as it was very dry so overall not particularly impressed and won’t be going again.

Delicious! Ate off the Mad March menu. Had jumbo king prawn starter which was amazing. 11/10. Carbonara with chicken was also amazing. Very impressed.

Really lovely service , food & ambience

Visited here for a birthday meal. Everything was great. The food was gorgous, we all had something different and we were all pleased with what we had. The food was hot, tasty, and well presented. The staff were fantastic. All in all a great time.

Why have I not been here sooner. The service was outstanding, beautiful food and atmosphere. Absolutely will be visiting again soon.

Don’t let the delicious sounding menu fool u this food was so underwhelming and seriously under seasoned. Everything had pepper but nothing had been salted. Rubbery plain chicken drizzle of watery sauce an didn’t even come with chips. It was so bland i dno how it gets 4 stars. Unless they r better with the pastas but even the chips had no salt. It looks like you’re gna get a refined meal it looks nice inside but wow what is everyone else ordering? Also we walked in asked if we wanted a drink b4 we even sat down so needed a sec to look at the menu they said il give u a min then forgot about us. Went to the bar to order drinks an told sit down someone will take the order. When the drinks order was put in we wanted to order the food right away and were told I can only do the drinks. Just felt like a really weird experience . Cudnt wait to leave. They gave a bit of a discount coz we didn’t eat it but it was only about 5-6 quid we worked out. Feel like I need compensation for wasting my night! I don’t do reviews but honestly the menu looks fab but the execution was terrible. Very disappointed. Had virtually the same meal in the Greek on south rd! An the difference is unreal the chicken in the Greek was moist an tasty the sauce was thick an flavoursome an wasn’t a stingy portion. My kids went this Italian weeks b4 with their dad and they all hated it but I wanted to try it myself thinking kids are fussy! Nope they were right! Save your money to somewhere you’ve already been before. X

Worst and most expensive lasagne I’ve ever had. No flavour, next to no meat at all, and it was so over cooked the bottom sheets of pasta were as hard as plastic and literally cemented to the plate. I had to ask 4 different members of staff for the bill which never came so I was forced to go up to the bar to settle my bill. The restaurant is also so cramped we were placed on a table where I was being squeezed and brushed past staff every few seconds.

We went as a family of 6 for a birthday meal recently to the Fat Italian, we ordered from the early bird menu which is fantastic value for money and there was loads of choice, the portions were really generous and the food was delicious, the staff are all very friendly and attentive, a special mention for Henry our waiter, he was a very pleasant young man

An amazing night we had here. The positive reviews do not do this place justice. Currently, the January menu has a starter and main course for £15. The selection and food quality is fantastic. Based on how busy it was I would advise booking, even on a Thursday it was full. Treat yourself and visit soon! 👌

Went to the fat Italian for my 21st bday for a meal, the food was stunning and the service was perfect. Our waitress Sherneen made it really special for me for my birthday and couldn’t have given us better service. Will definitely be back and would recommend it to everyone

A popular restaurant with an easy but upbeat atmosphere. Very friendly polite staff and a varied interesting menu added to our experience. The food was very tasty and nicely presented. A good drinks menu could only be improved by the addition of ginger beer!! Will definitely be returning.

We were greeted by sherneen, who looked after us the whole night she was absolutely brilliant, knowledgeable, nothing was to much trouble for her .. the staff in the kitchen also accommodated all my extremely fussy ways.. so hats off to them also .. absolute pleasure, will definitely return.

Went for a midweek evening meal with the girlfriend to the fat Italian in Crosby. Staff were lovely and polite and food came out at a good pace. For starters we shared the halloumi fries and for mains we both went for the pasta dishes....

Now eaten here several times, and it's always been a good meal. The last time we ate here, dishes at the table included pollo aglio, the goat cheese fritter, surf n' turf, and the lasagne, and everyone in the group was impressed with the food. Service is always good and friendly too which helps make for a nice atmosphere.

Staff were accommodating however they don’t have high chairs only booster seats, so if your baby is small it makes it quite difficult for them to eat! Food was nice, nothing special but it did take an hour to arrive & all we ordered was 2 pizzas. Would avoid going on a Sunday as sounded like it was only very amateur chefs who have never cooked before, manager was shouting at them a lot and our starter was burnt so had to be re done. Also a very nice waitress offered to refill my 11 month old baby’s sippy cup with water and a drop of cordial and said we wouldn’t be charged because she offered and then when we got the bill we had been charged £2 for it 🤣 in my opinion there is much better places nearby and for a lot less money with better food & atmosphere

Awful experience 😢 it was my friends birthday, we entered a dark, miserable, cold 🥶 place 😔 she sent her starter back as it contained chilli which she had mentioned to the waitress that she is allergic to chilli 😞 the music was too loud we requested it to be turned down twice no response, we asked if the blinds could be opened to let some sunshine in but the Manager informed us that the owner didn't like pedestrians to see inside 😞 they would benefit from taking a visit to The Fat Italian in Burscough as it is 💯 better .........
