Food was awful. Soggy pizza and the roast potatoes are just undercooked chips.

Absolutely lovely authentic Italian restaurant. I had lovely starter of freshly battered squid and prawns and my partner had risotto balls, both absolutely lovely! I had the special which was just the loveliest I have tasted outside of Europe my pattern had carbonara and in his words (and he’s a real fussy) the best he’d tasted. Lovely ambiance, great staff and the chefs cooking was just amazing. Thank you we will definitely be back. If you want a ‘proper’ real Italian with a varied menu this is the place to go! Would give it 10 stars if we could

For the prices of what i payed for starters and mains, it was not worth it. I was a bit disappointed in our starters, the gamberoni came with just 3 prawns & the bread was dry, i also ordered calamari fritta (squid & prawn) and came with 2 prawns & majority of squid, flavour of both was okay however the squid was half crispy & half soggy. Mains, i had lobster raviolli. Flavour of the pasta/filling was nice however the sauce, there wasn’t a lot to it and again a bit disappointed with the prices being quite high. I had to make a new sauce using the marinara sauce from the calzone & felt like making a new dish which i shouldn’t have to do. Dessert had the tiramisu which was really nice Service, asked for a spoon and it didn’t come, it was getting busy which is fair enough but still Atmosphere was nice and a really nice setting

Incredible food, huge portion sizes - I took some of my starter home with me because it was so big! Nicole was absolutely amazing, so easy to talk to and so good for recommendations🩷 will always come back to cantinetta x

The place is lovely. Nice and clean and the staff are really helpful. I did find the food very average nothing spectacular. Not another sole in the place that didn't bother me however not much atmosphere because of this. Maybe some lunch offers would help bring more people in? Disabled toilet quite small the ladies and gents are really great size. Sorry wasn't blown away today

Just have to provide another review If you want leading edge contemporary Italian cuisine get to Cantinetta. Today, starter of Pizza filled roll to die for (smoked salmon, goats cheese +++) then spaghetti seafood. Not had a better pasta dish since they opened. Bravo a tutti Grazie

I have a mixed review of our meal here on a Saturday evening. I had Prawns, which were in an absolutely taste free sauce and lobster ravioli which had an unpleasant flavour. The garlic bread with cheese was also without flavour...which is no mean feat, however the penne arrabiata was fabulous. One out of four isn't very promising. Service was good and staff very friendly. I think small plates are all a bit of a nonsense and a passing fad.I'd come back again if someone booked here but would not choose to otherwise.

We came here last night with all my managers and staff , the service was quick and efficient and food came nice and hot , prices were reasonable and also the drinks we ordered . Would highly recommend this hidden gem

Do like this restaurant but if you commen that a dish is not satisfactory they completely ignore your comment with no apology This is not what I am used to in restaurants that I regularly visit Does put me off coming again sadly

The food, Service and Atmosphere were great! The chewy texture of the spaghetti absorbs the spicy sauce, making it mouth-watering🤤

You can't beat a Greg's sausage roll & a cappuccino on a cold winter day to warm you up ,sat inside the cafe nice and clean & friendly staff.

Been past quite a few times, but finally visited for a Saturday evening meal. Staff were fantastic, but the food was absolutely on another level. Amazing!!! And I used to run an Italian restaurant kitchen in Bath in the 90s. This is our new go to, when we can't get to Rome. Well done all.

Wasn’t great here . Prawn risotto had 4 prawns in it . Dry and bland . Why not use some herbs to garnish ? Waited over 45 mins between stater and main 😢 It’s allegedly an Italian restaurant- maybe put some Italian music playing in background . Staff were nice though . Would not visit again 😢

Congratulations to the management and staff of Cantinetta for really hitting it out the park and getting this one-star review from me. It was a real team effort that I thought shouldn't go unrewarded. We had visitors from out of town and it was left to us to choose a restaurant that represented the best that Crosby had to offer (according to Google reviews).We were a party of 10 that had booked a table for Saturday evening plenty of time to prepare and ask us to preorder if necessary. On arrival we were shown to our table, settled in and were handed the drinks menu. It was at this point that the staff / management started to warm up by leaving us for 40 minutes before coming to take our drinks order. We had reminded them that taking orders and serving drinks was part of the deal but were treated to numerous excuses rather than the drinks we wanted. We probably should have left at this point, but we'd didn't (our bad). Having begrudgingly served us with drinks, the cooking staff leaned into their task of obtaining a one-star review by producing food that was not edible (a master stroke in the one-star rating challenge). We again complained (politely) that having edible food was really quite important for us when selecting a restaurant. There were muted apologies from the staff, with a hint of irritation that we should be putting such emphasis on something so irrelevant. But to be fair, it wasn't all the food that was inedible - just the Bruschetta's - which 90% of people had ordered as a starter. So basically, all the starters. There were further delays in producing the main meals. We raised the point that some of the younger people at the table had started to actually eat the table. Luckily, the mains arrived an hour after ordering. We had no material complaints about the quality of the main meals. Although I remember that the food was served by a waitress who placed it on the table in a manner that suggested she didn't appreciate our lack of gratitude. Nobody at any point came over to apologies and when we complained to the manager about the service he really couldn't be bothered. And his reaction is the only reason i could be bothered to write this review. It was clear that Cantinetta had had an off night. It happens. I get it. People come to your restaurant, they take liberties by asking for a timely and conscience service with edible food. To not care or apologies for poor service or food when you've clearly had an off night is truly outstanding. Hence this one-star review.

Bello ed accogliente, a mio parere si mangia molto bene

Its Friday evening & we're looking for a place to eat in Crosby & disappointed we couldn't get into some pizza bars we tried, but we were told about this place. It was full but the patron made us welcome & asked if we minded waiting a few minutes while they prepared a table for us. We only wanted a simple pizza as we'd already been to a wake earlier. Could it get any better? My boss was able to indulge her favourite tipple, aperol spritz, she was made up! We scanned the menu and there it was. Arancini! We've eaten the best arancini in the world, in Ragusa Ibla, Sicily, so we have high expectations. We ordered a starter of their arancini shared between us & it did not disappoint. Taste, texture & flavours were excellent, all served with a stunning creamy cheese sauce. Wots not to like! We followed this with pizzas, which were equally as good, but by now we were nearing full capacity. The staff offered to box up the remains as a takeaway, which I enjoyed next day. The waiting staff were excellent, knowledgeable & attentive, prompt without being overbearing. Boy, do those young ladies work hard! All in, a very pleasant experience & we have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant.

Great spot and good vibe but everything took so long. After an hour we hadn’t got any food. When it arrived, pizza breads were fabulous, aranchoni was tasty but the bruschetta was inedible - I couldn’t cut through it! The mains took over 45 mins after that to arrive. There was no apology about it. My lobster pasta was delicious, the prawn pasta very average, the lamb shank tasty. Just such a shame that it was a very long wait, no communication about the wait and the team didn’t seem to care about our experience. Highlights - good wine, good breads, good vibes and some lovely dishes Lowlights - took way too long to eat, service quality was poor and some of the dishes were not great

We have just visited Cantinetta for the first time for a family meal and it was absolutely fantastic! The food was fabulous from starter to dessert and the staff were so friendly and attentive throughout with a fab sense of humour! Such a welcoming atmosphere. It was easily the best meal out I have had in ages and I would highly recommend it!! We will be back soon! Delicious!

Good quality fresh Italian food. with a professional and friendly service. Atmosphere was relaxed with some buddah bar type lounge music. The only reason atmosphere is 3 stars is because we ate early , at 3pm as we were headed out later. Next time we'll go for an evening experience. Reasonably priced .... under £70 for bread and olives, 1 round of drinks , 2 starters and 2 good mains .

As walk ins, finding us a table was no bother at all. Plenty of guests already seated which was great to see on a Sunday late afternoon, Plenty of time to mull over the menu as we enjoyed a drink. We started with a sharing plate then had spaghetti and ravioli and our meals were absolutely fabulous. We didn't have enough room left to try a pudding .But honestly as a family that have been fortunate enough to enjoy the taste of proper Italian food several times over there,we can only say that what we ate was cooked by someone that shows pride in what you are being served. The young ladies that served us were all as polite and helpful as can be,only appearing when our glasses needed filling. Also the man preparing drinks at the bar (he obviously do's a lot more than preparing drinks) the knowledge and pride in his description of home baked bread was simply great and shows the pride he had for his kitchen staff. Well done to you all,hold your heads high and we will certainly return soon. Grazie mille

Ordered the prawn risotto, prawns weren’t cleaned/deveined. Did it myself with a rather blunt knife. The single prawn pictured happened to be the cleanest one. Not enough prawn to rice. The pasta was a little undercooked for our liking. Both dishes could of done with a bit of garnish or veg. Staff were pleasant enough.

Went for a family meal. I had the Tagliatelle Al Salmone. Without a doubt one of the finest salmon dishes I have ever had! Just delightful.

Prawns Portafino.. and poached egg and asparagus with brown butter and fried sage leaves are my current addictions ... smart place good food nice staff .. good value, not cheap but good value. I have ordered these 3 times in the last 10 days, each time fantastic . I can also recommend Affogato with Frangelico, its a great dessert ; A Scoop of ice cream a shot of frangelico and expresso poured over..

The food and service was fantastic. Had the Arancini to start, which is an appetiser on the menu, but was a substantial starter, followed by the spaghetti with prawns and chilli. My wife equally enjoyed hers. I thought it was really good value, and the house wine was great!

Came here with a group of friends last month and was excited to try the place as I really like Italian food. The food was gorgeous, but felt it was overpriced for pasta. Staff were really friendly, however service was very slow. It was mid week evening, and not that busy, but we were in there for over 2 hours and only ordered mains. I think I would go back, as the food was nice, but maybe only for a light lunch.

Wasn't overly impressed want be rushing back had crispy calamari with prawns both slightly over cooked as my starter and main was sea bass in pasta which was a bit thick .

Stylish and authentic Italian Restaurant near our BNB stay near the beach at Waterloo, Liverpool. Delicious menu with matching wine list. Friendly and efficient service. We really enjoyed our dinner for two on a Sunday night.

I have been to Cantinetta numerous times and each time it has been wonderful. The food is more authentic than the other Italian restaurants in the area and is absolutely delicious. The range of specials is always really food and it is very reasonably priced...

Went to celebrate our Ruby wedding anniversary, theoretically with best man and bridesmaid (plus one of our two sons) A great atmosphere with lovely food. Very attentive service

Great looking place and they put effort into how their dishes look. However, once you get past the beautiful aesthetics of this place their isn't much else going on, everything else is definitely below average.

Fantastic food and fantastic staff.

This was our second visit and once again, 5 stars. We had six different courses between three of us and every dish was perfectly cooked and presented by cheerful efficient staff. Portions are generous and though it may not be the cheapest Italian around, there is none better. Highly recommended!

Can't fault the food but perhaps the service could be improved. On arrival gave booking details and apologised that 1 person couldn't attend so only 2 of us, waitress walked away, I assumed to find a suitable table then turned and beckoned with her finger...no pleasant interaction. Same with staff when we were seated, ok we're not here to make friends but let's at least pretend whilst we're in your restaurant. Discussed attitude with a family member who had dined earlier in the evening, same attitude. We are your guests, your business relies on us, we will support you but please at least be friendly. P.S. food is EXCELLENT!

Fabulous! Authentic Italian. I was walking around the shopping centre wondering where to eat. Unfortunately there is no review on google and thought to give a try. Surprisingly Cantinetta has been here for the past 2 years and I never knew. The ambient is very modern, clean and very nice contemporary design. Any words to describe the elegance is irrelevant comparing to the food quality. Hugely recommend and it was my first time. We are having 4 course and absolutely fabulous. I speak Italian and I know well the standards as I am demanding with my food. See my reviews and notice how economical I can be with my reviews. This is absolutely outstanding

Could not rate more highly. Has a diverse menu with ever changing specials so I am always spoilt for choice. The food always tastes incredible made with quality ingredients. Staff are extremely helpful, polite and efficient. Restaurant is always immaculately clean and stylishly dressed. Always recommend to friends and family for a special night out.

A nice restaurant with good Italian dishes. The pizza is lovely I had the pepperoni which came on a Neopolitan style base. The tomatoes were slightly on the sour size and may have benefited from a little sugar and being reduced down. I tried the Bolognese which was nice and the rest of the party were happy with their meals. Fudge cake and ice cream for dessert was nice. Staff were pleasant and decor was modern, industrial and nice. Parked at Sainsbury's which was free after 6.

OMG I have had the best italian meal i have ever eaten at this place tonight! The food was exquisite, piping hot and so so tasty! Both myself and my wife were blown away.
