Very good restaurant with very good food. We visited here on a Friday afternoon. We chose off the 2 course set lunch menu £18.50. It was well presented, cooked just right and tasted delicious. We chose a bottle of Sanglovese which complimented the meal well. The service was good and friendly.

What a superb little restaurant, lucky just dropped in and got a table. Very rustic but food and service was excellent. Had Bruchetta and Nico’s Chicken Pasta, partner had Mushroom Bruchetta and Salmon Pasta, followed by one enormous piece of Tiramisu shared. Wine was a lovely Italian Puglia Primitivo red. What’s not to like. Very attentive staff and nicely timed service. Great place!!

This restraunt was very busy on the night we visited , we were shown to our table and felt like we were rammed in a corner . The staff were pleasant enough but everything took time . This meal was my husband’s birthday meal so we expected it to be wonderful , but it wasn’t . My husband’s starter arrived after about 40 minutes , and I had skipped lunch to save myself to enjoy the meal, after my husband’s starter we then had to wait just under 2 hours for our mains I was really feeling unwell at this point and just wanted to eat. We asked 3 members of staff where our food was and they just kept saying they were sorry, but I believe they’d forgotten about us. The food was average , we rammed the food and just wanted to get out of there . We won’t be returning anytime soon , so what a waste of time and money, my husband’s birthday was ruined also. Also if any staff are reading this there’s a plug half hanging off the wall near the bar, a fire hazard I would say , or an accident waiting to happen.

Restaurant doesn't look as nice in real life as on the pictures. Ordered, had the calamari, was like rubber. Sausage pasta was bland with hardly any sausage overcooked pasta. Bolognese sauce tasted odd like it had cinnamon or something in it. Rosemary bread was the only quality item ordered. Service average to poor.

We went for our works Christmas do but decided to eat off the main menu and not the Christmas one. I had rump steak, it was awful, I left half of it as I couldn't chew it or cut it for the amount of fat that was in it. Aldi steaks are better. I asked for mustard to go with it and when I checked the date on the tub it was 2 years out of date! The tiramsu I had for dessert started off nice but half way through it was tasteless and mush! Obviously frozen and defrosted! Will not be returning!

The pub was brimming and over flowing to the outside with diners when we arrived. I'd heard their roast dinners were good and thought the number of people were a testament to that. Wrong! The roast (?) potatoes weren't all golden and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside but barely cooked and a grey colour which my knife couldn't penetrate. One of the potatoes was actually black. The parsnip was not all soft and squiggy but suffered the same lack of time in the oven, if it ever saw an oven that defied my knife slicing off a piece to taste. The pork dry, and tasteless. I didn't attempt the giant Yorkshire which obviously wasn't homemade instead looked plastic. The cackling burnt. However the side dish of cabbage and carrots and the one piece of cauliflower whilst overcooked was quite tasty hence the 2 stars I think we were perhaps one of the last diners to be served so maybe we drew the short straw. I'm not however game to try again.

I knew that this pub was under new management and my friend had recently been here and said the meal was good so I thought I would invite me friends for dinner, I was not disappointed, the service, food and cosiness of the pub was excellent and would return, I had to trout and crumble and it was delicious and could of done with some more custard. Freddie who took our order and served us was exceptionally professional and funny too. Only minor point is when we were going in from the back it looked like it could do with a bit of love and pretty flowers. Look forward to returning maybe in the autumn when the fire is on.
