So when we walked in, on Saturday night, it was weird to see the restaurant relatively empty with only 4 or so tables taken because any other time I’ve been to another Macellaio they’ve always been packed. We walked in, sat down and instantly there was a whole table up next to our table (because it was near the bar) having a discussion with the manager on duty/head waiter. We found out that they had just had some poor feedback from the customers before us who had given them a pretty bad review for a silly reason. I thought they’d do everything they could to make it perfect. I was wrong. It’s a good menu, good value for money and the quality of the meat is obviously good, but they sent us dry potatoes, the meat was under-cooked (we asked for medium rare, this came blue to rare and in a tomahawk that makes a massive difference) and the salad was literally just green leaves with some obviously shop bought mint ??? dressing. Because of what had happened, we didn’t want to complain, so if the below didn’t happen I wouldn’t be writing the review this way. But a blonde female waitress/manager came to ask us if the steak with okay or if we’d want it put back in the oven for a bit, but the way she asked was so hostile and rude that we didn’t even say anything then. Our poor waiter David was so nice and trying to be professional that we didn’t even get him involved. At the end, the woman came to clear the table, I asked if I could give her some feedback and told her about the potatoes and the steak again but she was sooo cold that it was uncomfortable. Someone on the table said to me “I don’t think she cares one drop about your feedback” and I just stopped. For a restaurant that had just got slaughtered for unfair reasons, when a table comes in to a raw tomahawk and roast potatoes, one of your only waitresses really needs to be understanding, caring and nice. While I was talking to David in the end about this, she came up to him and said “I’m going to the bathroom” (yes I speak Italian), and was laughing around with the staff, it was quite sad to see this level of disregard. Pros: - Good quality beef - good starters - value for money Cons: - Disgusting attitude from the blonde female - chaotic, under-prepared staff who failed to react and take advantage of us who would obviously leave them a nice review - mistakes from the kitchen A big thank you though to David V, who went out of his way to show us a good night and reacted well to the situation. I would visit again for a chance for him to make it up to us and he is a genuinely nice guy.

Had been in for a drink the night before and after such a warm welcome decided to come back for lunch. The Manageress was very helpful in explaining the various dishes. Enjoyed the Starter and the Mains, decided to have Tiramisu for desert OMG the best! The staff are very friendly and helpful in a very nice setting, will be back very soon.

Best meal we had in 7 nights in London. We all shared the a variety of starters, Tomahawk Steak with a number of the beautiful salads. Food was outstanding. We enjoyed some great wines and the team cared for us so beautifully. We met the Italian chef……who was so delighted we enjoyed the food he prepared. When leaving the restaurant had a Taxi ordered and walked us all to the cabs. We loved it thank you.

Carpaccio was out of the ordinary and the Tomahawk steak was one of the best i have tasted. The wine were well choosen by the staff. The staff was friendly and Professional.

I went with some friends for having focaccia al formaggio, which is a dish we all love (we come from the area in Italy where the dish is from, so we know it well). The focaccia was completely stuck to the plate, so it had to be scraped off it. What's worse, the cheese, which is a prominent part of the dish, was practically absent. When we told the waitress the serving was disappointing for the complete lack of cheese, she shrugged and said "eh, I know". Which is a very poor way to deal with unsatisfied guests. The rest of the meal was ok, but absolutely not remarkable. We didn't even have a discount at the end. Very, very disappointed.

Absolutely fantastic food! As a veggie in a very meaty restaurant i was extremely well looked after. The service was excellent. The minestrone soup was wonderful. My meat eating companion loved his dishes. I highly recommend - fabulous meal!

Booked a table for 12.03.23 for Sunday lunch at 5.30… was called around 4 pm to be told only 1 roast left… 10 minutes later another call to be told chef found 2 more!! Laughable! How do you just find 2 more. We went along any way as was celebrating a birthday and had driven 3 hours to London to spend the day there. Dinner was dry.. cold.. and beef over cooked also cold plates… my pet hate! no sprouts as mentioned on the menu. Restaurant was dead… no atmosphere. I would definitely not recommend this place nor will we be returning. Also restaurant is situated down a walk way of the Main Street…. Filthy and dirty!

I need to start by saying the steaks were amazing, probably the best I’ve ever had and also cooked to perfection, but sadly that was the only good thing about the evening. Reading through previous reviews, I’m not sure if we caught them on a bad day or they were short staffed, but we found the service to be rushed, rude, cold and very in-personable! Don’t bother trying to engage with the staff, because you just get shut down. Also when I asked where the toilets were, they sent me to the men’s! Not sure if that was meant to be a joke, but I didn’t find it funny! When you are spending £500 for 4 people I expect more and at the very least to be made to feel welcome! There were a few things that bugged us through the evening like no garnish in the G&T, running out of olives and them still being on the bill, not once being checked on and having to stand up to get the waitress attention and trying to find our own condiments, HOWEVER this may all sound a bit nit picky, when my main concern is feeling like we had been ripped off! On the menu it tells you the price of the steaks per 100g which leads you to believe you can choose you’re weight, or so you’d think!? We were told we could not order anything less than 1kg of meat and that they had 2 steaks already cut one at 1.2kg and the other at 1.3kg and that’s basically what we had to have! I asked why we couldn’t choose our own and we were again told this is what we have and it can’t be less than that because of the bone! I’m pretty sure I’ve seen boneless steaks in the pictures and other friends who have visited and highly recommended the restaurant were able to order whatever weight they desired! They also didn’t have the wine we wanted, they only had wine available that was £50+ a bottle! I think £500 for drinks (admittedly quite a few) and 2 steaks with a few sides is pretty steep especially when the choice was taken out of out hands and we were basically told what we had to have! Who knows, maybe this wouldn’t have bothered us if the service had been on point and we’d been made to feel welcome. But we left with a bad taste in our mouths (not from the steak) and feeling like we’d been well and truly ripped off! Such a shame as we’d had such high hopes for this restaurant….

A great evening. The restaurant is fairly rustic with a mixture of individual tables and long benches. It is very beef oriented! If you don't like beef don't come here - but if you do like beef - bookmark it! We were talked into the beef heart starter - and it was great. Spicy and delicious - well cooked and I would have it again. Main course between 2 of us was 1.2kg of ribeye steak on the bone. Recommended medium rare but it was definitely served rare. This would normally be an issue for ribeye - and although the fat wasn't rendered, the steak was amazing. Soft as butter and salty seasoned from the drying process. It's probably one of the best steaks I have ever had. Great ambience and superb food - highly recommended.

I highly recommend coming here for happy hour and dinner! The amostpherr and the food, as well as the entire environment, are worth a try! My friend and I shared a stake tarate with burrata Genovese as a starter, and it was delicious. For the main course, we ordered their signature macellaio costata, which was also delicious. The meat was tender and juicy, and the wine selection was excellent. Overall, the experience was delightful; if you want to taste the flavours of Italy, I highly recommend coming!
