Peachy Goat in Southwark

I visited Herne Hill to meet a friend for lunch at Peachy Goat, on her recommendation. It has a great location, a few minutes from Herne Hill station, and has seats in front, in the main area inside, and at the back. The menu is plant-based only, which for vegetarians and vegans - and the self-conscious is great. The downside of the menu is that many of the menu choices also include wheat, so gluten sensitive people will have a more limited choice. However, I ordered the polenta and vegetables dish, which was good, and we ordered some well-priced wine. The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming and full of smiles and in the late Summer weather, with windows open, we both enjoyed the lunch. I would visit again, but the lack of gluten free options mean that I might return just to hang out with friends with wine and French fries.

Food was fine too good but just so overpriced for what it was. Would definitely not go again. Camembert came with 4 small chunks and more bread than topping to put on. Truffle burger had no salad, just chips, plus “cheese” was extra - lot for £19. Rigatoni was average. For £19.5 I would really expect homemade fresh pasta - this was just bog standard shop stuff. I’ve never been to a restaurant that charges that much for a plate of pasta and it not be fresh. Sauce was fine but it was really like a mid week meal at home.

As regulars of this place we love to introduce new people to it, and yet again they failed to disappoint! Amazing margaritas!! Beautiful burgers! And massive portions. And the laid back friendly service here is just totally on point.

Brought the mother in law here for a cheeky bite just pre Christmas. She went for the pasta, which she said was good. We both had the festive ‘chicken’ burger, which was also really tasty. Still have to say that the blue cheese, the truffle, and the smoky mcconnaghy are definitely your best burgers by a country mile! Bring them all back permanently!! Fries awesome and plentiful, and margaritas still up there as some of the best in London!

This is hands down the best veggie burger restaurant in London. We’ve lived in Herne Hill for just over a year and come back here at least twice a month. Every burger is amazing - I’m the only veggie in our group and all the meat eaters say it’s the best burger they’ve ever had. The fries are delicious. Brilliant margaritas and selection of wines. Couldn’t recommend this enough.

A real find. Had a fab evening at The Peachy Goat tonight; the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, the staff are great and the food top notch. My rigatoni was perfect cheesey comfort food, and my carnivore husband said his blue cheese burger was the best veggie burger he'd ever had and was tastier than most meat burgers he's had! Highly recommended for couples and small groups, vegan or not.

As a gluten-free vegan, the offering was really disappointing. A dull salad small plate, or a straight out the packet Beyond Meat burger - without the fries since they share a fryer with the gluten containing foods. So it was literally just a burger, all alone on a plate for £17.50. No dessert option either. Miserable fayre - must do better.

Outstanding as always. We came here again to celebrate one year move to Herne Hill. We’ve eaten here at least once a month since we moved, and I always give 5 stars. The reason for 4 stars this time was the £2 charge to truffle up my fries. I mean, come on guys. We normally get free tuaca shots at the end of a meal for our loyalty. Not £2 charge for a touch of oil. I only asked as you’ve removed the truffle burger from the menu, which was a little disappointing. But the blue cheese is still off the chart amazing. And we will still keep coming back!

I am not a vegetarian but absolutely loved the food here . Who needs meat with food this good!! Friendly helpful staff, nice vibe.

I never believe people when they say it’s their first review but it is for me! Just couldn’t not say how delicious the food was and how beyond lovely the service was! 10/10 couldn’t fault a thing, or recommend a visit to Peachy Goat more highly! :)

I popped in before booking to discuss allergies, the staff were so friendly and helpful it was really reassuring. Came with a friend who is Vegan and even though rest of the group not vegan we were all hugely impressed. The quality of the food, flavours, presentation was superb. Service throughout was fab, knowledgeable staff who were really enthusiastic about their menu. I thought the wines on the more expensive side but the food fantastic value.

Called in here on a Friday night thinking we’d be pushing our luck getting a table, but luckily got a lovely table outside in the setting sun. My partner is a veggie, and I’m a confirmed carnivore, but this is still my favourite restaurant in Herne Hill. We’d heard about the new VFC ‘not chicken’ burger, but were told that it was only on the lunch menu. No dramas, ordered the truffle and the blue cheese between us, only for the waiter to come back and tell us that the chef was happy to make the VFC for us anyway! And it was awesome! And we really appreciated the free shot at the end! I guess that’s what you get when you’ve already necked 6 of their delicious margaritas!!

THE BEST VEGAN FOOD! I’m allergic to dairy and saw this place recommended on TikTok. I went for a meal with my sister and it was simply incredible from start to finish. We shared starters of deep fried Camembert bites and pea arancini balls, followed by burgers. As someone allergic to dairy I never thought I’d find such a delicious alternative to cheese- you honestly wouldn’t be able to tell it’s vegan- it was the ultimate treat! The wait staff were friendly and attentive, and we loved the large open sash windows too so it provided great ventilation. The dinner was simply stunning and I cannot wait to go back again and try the pastas - thank you thank you thank you peachy goat!

Just awful! I booked a table here for my husbands birthday dinner and it was also our first night out after having a baby 7 weeks ago. I said on my reservation that we would be coming with a baby and pram. We arrived and the waiter clearly didn’t want us there from the moment he laid eyes on us. He said we couldn’t sit in the garden because there’s no room for a pram and that normally they wouldn’t allow us in the restaurant either because they are a small restaurant - a bit odd for a restaurant to not accept a family, but I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. He sat us at a table by the window and only a few seconds after we sat down, he came back over and said actually we can’t sit there (refused to give us a reason) and that he had to sit us in the back corner by the toilets. We were both visibly shocked but followed him over where he showed us that he wanted the pram on the other side and us sat next to each other. I explained that wouldn’t work for feeding my baby and he said there was no other option. We ended up leaving with absolutely no hesitation from the waiter. He didn’t even apologise and instead had a go at us for not calling in advance about the baby. He made a real scene and we were both visibly shocked. I even told him it was my husbands birthday and our first night out and he didn’t even respond. I would go as far as considering legal action as I think this waiter was completely discriminatory and acting in bad faith. We have both been here a few times and ordered deliveries from them before but never again!! Our baby is also totally chilled and barely cries so this had nothing to do with us disturbing other customers.
