Cantina del Ponte in Southwark

1-Dec-22: Visited as a party of 4 on a Thursday evening. The restaurant was busy and buzzy and waiting staff were friendly. Food was OK, nothing special but nothing bad. My carbonara served from the parmesan wheel was a bit of fun.

We made a reservation for this restaurant for an early mid-week dinner, but that was hardly necessary as the place was nearly totally empty. But the service was very good and the classic Italian dishes were tasty and good value. Being right on the River Thames, it has great views. Had we come later in the evening, it would likely be very busy

Location was nice but the restaurant lacked an ambiance, there was simply no soul in the place. Food was reasonably good and the service was very friendly and attentive. I just really missed a nice atmosphere. It was also quite empty for a Friday night so clearly we are not alone missing an ambiance.

Let’s start with the positive because there was a positive. The service was fine - courteous, polite and efficient. It ain’t their fault. It’s the people behind the scenes. The food was mediocre at best and mostly very poor indeed. A carpaccio starter was over salted and unnecessarily garnished with fussiness which overpowered the taste of the octopus. Other bruschetta starters could have come out of polythene, absolutely no character. Substance alone. My main dish of seafood linguine was, frankly, pitiful. It’s hard to believe a professional chef would own it. I’d have apologised to my kids and I’m no chef. To be fair, one of our party of four found the risotto ‘nice’. Desserts were, again, completely lacking in character. Of no distinction whatsoever. The cruncher, however, was the bill. £239 for four. We were out for a London lunch so prepared to pay for it but for food of that quality. Outrageous. Will we be back? Probably not.

Beautiful location, favourite in London. I hadn’t been here for years. We had a lovely meal with great, friendly service. My husband had the carbonara served in the pecorino wheel which he really enjoyed. The porchetta was also tasty and a far bigger portion than first thought. The menu isn’t that extensive, particularly for an Italian, but we found it very reasonable for Central London A bonus for us (appreciate not all), is that it’s dog friendly (smallish dogs). Will return

Very tasty food with great service. Definitely recommend the carbonara. This restaurant is more of a high end Italian than generic and doesn’t serve pizzas. Lovely setting in London with the tower bridge as a backdrop. There is an option for outdoor seating for the summer.

Toast on bruschetta was burnt, and so left a nasty taste. My partners beef main was utterly tasteless and unseasoned and dry. My main was totally underwhelming. for the price of the food, you would be better off at a quality gastro pub. I felt ripped off to be honest. Wine was nice.

Choose the restaurant because of the OpenTable meal deal as every other deal we have used from them has been great. Whilst the food was nice, it was nothing special or didn't really seem as authentic as it could have been. I appreciate that the cost was kept slightly down by some of us choosing from the set menu, but the portion sizes were small and in hindsight I wish I knew that before we ordered because the I think I would have left the restaurant feeling full and satisfied after paying a £300 bill and wanting to go for a coffee and cake somewhere. When we ordered from the set menu which included a glass of prosecco, this was not forthcoming and I had to bring the confirmation email up to ask if the meal deal still applied. In every other restaurant we have are in has similar deals that is actually the first thing the waiter brings. Although enjoyed catching up with family after 9 years, I wish I had of chosen somewhere else. It would be far more beneficial if your increase your portion sizes to attract returning customers, instead of every dish - start, main and dessert were the same small size. I only took pictures of two of the starters because the main was uneventful. Even though the food was nice, when you looked at size of the tomotatoes and mozzarella straight from the main it was significantly better.

Ce fut une très belle découverte. Le personnel est très agréable et très attentif. Très belle vue sur le Tower Bridge! La nourriture est très bonne, ce restaurant fait parti des meilleurs à Londres pour nous! Quelques plats adaptés aux végétariens, ce qui est un point positif. Rapport qualité/prix très correct. Nous reviendrons!

In questo ristorante ho organizzato la proposta di matrimonio alla mia futura moglie. Anna e Carmine sono stati due fedeli alleati, ma soprattutto molto preparati e disponibili. Li ringrazierò sempre!! Per quanto riguarda le pietanze tutte ottime e deliziose, consiglio ovviamente la carbonara mantecata nella forma di parmigiano. Complimenti allo chef ed alla brigata! Consigliato

Nice location, good staff and nice food overall. The lobster linguini are just flavoured, you struggle to find any piece of fish meat. Only thing to avoid is the wine: very poor list with low quality Italian wines sold as masterpieces: never seen a re-charge like this, we paid £38 for a bad quality Pinot Grigio worthing less than £8 online. Be aware!

De zaak ziet er van buiten somber uit, de kaart is compact en sumier maar de gerechten zijn super ! Vriendelijke en behulpzame bediening en het smakenpalet is subliem, echt een aantrader als je Londen bezoekt!! Ik vertel het voort

We were very happy with the way the staff greeted us, and made us welcome, despite our early arrival. Service was attentive, but not seamless as waiting staff were being trained on the job. Most of our party were happy with their meals; I enjoyed my burrata and then my lamb. The lasagne chosen by one of us was extremely disappointing though; it was a small portion, burnt to a crisp, and smothered in a tomato sauce which failed to hide the dark brown burn top. There was no sign of the meat filling that had been described in the menu. Star of the evening was the Carbonara which was fantastic and dramatically served from a wheel of pecorino cheese. Fab. So, avoid the lasagne, and you'll be perfectly happy.

Excellent service like before, very tasty food and an exceptionally good atmosphere. Definitely will come back!

When they ask me for an italian restaurant in London I never know what to suggest. Finally I will know what to answer: Cantina del Ponte. Amazing food (real italian not pretending to be so), friendly and helpful staff, amazing environment. Come here and you won’t regret it!

I have to say, I never find an Italian restaurant like this, the food was amazing and fresh. For one moment, I felt like I was in Italy.Rossella, the waitress, helped us a lot, her service was amazing and she made us felt at home. I wish I can be served by a waitress like her everyone I go to a restaurant. Thanks to her professional attitude, but also human, I felt like this place was already familiar to me.Well done to all of the staff for creating this amazing atmosphere and to the chef who made us tasted the amazing Italian cousine .Thanks again!!I will recommend this restaurant to everyone

We sat on the terrace, well covered and with heaters and had a snug evening! There were six of us and everyone was really happy with their food. They had run out of the lamb and my son in law wanted red meat - the only other option was the steak for two, and they agreed to do it just for him, as an exception. This was good. Two of my party had the spaghetti cooked in a barrel of cheese - they said it was delicious. The seafood stew was exceptionally good too. All in all a great experience.

Food good, but too expensive. I ordered tuna steak with was served with few veg on the side for price 22 pounds, not worth it. Service poor, we have to wait long to order and pay. Only plus food was pretty good.

Finally back at one of my fav Italian restaurant in London,had a good aperitif from the manager Ornets promote the special spritz of the day no words fantastic,continue with some starters buttata and charcuterie main course cacio e Pepe wheel absolutely stunning.In the end chef Michele was great with us to bring personally the dessert to the table thank you for the great experience and made my day happy

Been here many times, always had a good service and I can say now is still the same! Fresh pasta and some classic starters... can't complain of anything!!!! Big thanks to all the staff, you make me feel in Italy!!!!

We recommended so I popped there with friends, my meal was lovely, friennd asked for minimal alteration Seafood to just Prawns only, was told sorry we cannot adjust? Didnt spoil our meal or evening, Lovely restaurant & staff, but we did find portion size on some of our dishes a tad small for the price charged. Overall would recommend as an eatery for other friends & colleagues

Food was good but portions were very small and expensive for what you get. You have to pay for veg separate to your meal. The wine prices were a little ridiculous.

A very nice restaurant with true typical Italian cooking.Atmosphere is nice. A bit noisy as it is frequent in London.Food was good and well prepared. Pasta are particularly well done.Price are ok, may be wines are a bit too much expensive.Service is with smile and efficient, sometimes we wait a bit too much.We will return there.

Dined here with friends. Food OK nothing special. Had mixed starters and the pasta served from a cheese. Was left wandering how many times they use that cheese. The waiter was a bit brusque.

Like another recent reviewer, we were very rushed to leave. Our reservation was at 8pm yet by soon after 10pm we were left with the very distinct impression that the staff wanted us to finish and leave. To wanted to order digestives/cocktails, followed by coffee, but the impression we got was that we could have one or the other due to them wanting to close ...on a Saturday night!!Having said the above, the food was ok. Tiramisu was very good. Wine list for 2019 wines was somewhat expensive.

Lovely food, outside eating area perfect for all weather with good heaters and protection was warm on a chilly day with drizzle have not given 5 stars as they started hassling for the table back before our time was up and we had spent a significant sum of money

Ho festeggiato qui il mio compleanno con una cena tra amiche. Il cibo di ottima qualita' e un'atmosfera calda ci hanno fatto sentire come a casa. Il servizio eccellente e curato! Vorrei fare un ringraziamento particolare a Sara e Rossella, che non solo ci hanno accolte con gentilezza, ma hanno reso la serata del mio compleanno super speciale con performance finale di canzone e candeline! Torneremo sicuramente!

A surprise dinner for my wife’s birthday turned into a bigger surprise within one minute of us sitting down. The head waitress came over to greet us with........’we will need your table back in 90 minutes.” (I will have to remember that tip when we next have unwelcome guests over for dinner!) The head waitress ultimately did not let us down when she ushered the nice and apologetic waiter who came over 80 minutes later to present us with the bill, despite me showing him my phone proving that their own t&c’s confirm a minimum 2 hour table allocation. To be fair the food was good as was the waiter service. However with the potential elapse of their 90 minute time ultimatum the waiter stood over us, staring at us and also our half finished bottle of wine, until my wife insisted we pay the bill and leave to avoid the continuing staring eyes of the head waitress. Thank you Catina del Ponte for spoiling my wife’s birthday dinner. Cantina’s motto should be -sit, eat, pay and leave ........affrettare!

We  went to Cantina del ponte because one of my friend recommended me this restaurant. The views of Tower bridge stunning too!The food was very nice. We both ate pasta cacio e pepe . Very tasty! We asked to our running waitress with beautiful eyeliner who make this delicious pasta... So thank you to Davide and thank you to small and always smiling Martina! We come back for sure

I am so glad that this place is open again. I went for a dinner yesterday with my friend and everything was perfect. Food absolutely delicious, unforgettable atmosphere and really great service. We fall in love for the little manga! We had really an amazing time.Thank you for all experience. We will be back

There are no words that can describe how goof the food is. The atmosphere is stunning with an amazing view of tower bridge. It’s effortless romantic vibe paired with the most incredible, comforting and delicious food makes this spot one of London’s best kept secrets. The charming chef Michele creates authentic Italian dishes which soothe the soul. I arrived hungry and left with the feeling that life is beautiful

Happy to be back!! The focaccia it’s amazing,and the gnocchi are sometimes I hope they never change! Really recommend this place, if u want to have a taste of Italy, in London !!!

Had hoped for a pleasant afternoon catching up with relatives but it was ruined by poor service and not particularly wonderful food. The outside seating area is like a wind tunnel with heating on one side only. Our table booked 2 weeks before was right by the entrance so very cold and windy. We asked to move when someone left but were refused as they were holding the table for a request. We could have it but only if relinquished in 40 minutes time! No one arrived at that table until just before we left well over an hour later and there were other empty ones available anyway. We felt rushed to order, rushed to eat and rushed to pay the bill. Food plonked on the table almost as soon as it was ordered which did not indicate freshly cooked and whipped away as soon as the last mouthful was taken. Bill plonked on the table without being asked for and then asked several times if we were ready to pay. Sliced focaccia that looked as if it had come from a down market supermarket, rosemary potatoes that tasted reheated and chicken swimming in florescent green sauce with bits of overcooked pancetta in it that didn't taste of anything in particular. I would not recommend anything we had as being particularly tasty or worth the high price they charged. The only decent thing was the burrata but the accompanying tomatoes were a bit of a nasty mush.I realise restaurants have been struggling over this last year but I do think if they want to survive then this one needs to up its game, I won't be returning. By comparison I had lunch at a chain restaurant in a similar position by the river a week ago. They couldn't have been more helpful and professional, we had more to eat, had a lovely time and paid a third of the price.

if you are looking for a traditional Italian expireince this is the place We felt welcome like home, the staff where really attentive and smily `the menu is great and full of option for all the eventual taste and attitudewe been impressed from the quality of the product we been suggested from the chef for a nice starter selection to start and as a main course the cacio e pepe made in the pecorino wheel that was outstanding we end our meal with a classic tiramisu overall one of the most enjoyable dinner since the lockdown end definitely we coming back soon

Not a great menu as a dairy allergy sufferer. There are literally no vegan mains. I’m fine with meat but there were no options without cheese so I couldn’t have a main. I had the bruschetta starter which was very disappointing - one measly tiny bit of bread with tomato on top, I’ve had much much better bruschetta pretty much anywhere else and with much more generous portions! If you are going during outdoor dining lockdown - avoid, it is a freezing wind tunnel with waiters who roll their eyes if you ask for the heater on. Overall a pretty poor visit, will not be returning.

I highly recommend this restaurant. We’ve been here few times and the food was delicious every time. The staff are very professional and friendly.

Amazing place, food is mind blowing. Ambience and service outstanding. Eating Italian food with the Tower Bridge view is something you definitely have to try.

After this long period of closure it is nice to be able to return to savor a good meal in this place open in complete safety with an always spectacular view where courtesyand professionalism make yuo feel at home great cheese and pepper with truffles the chef's specialty to try

Went for a dinner with friends on Saturday.Amazing food and service as usual, a bit cold but what to expect for April.The terrace was nice an cozy with furs and blankets.Friendliest staff in London and best view you can get!Will definitely be back and can recommend it to everyone.Grazie Cantina Del Ponte.

Food was cold, didn’t ask how we wanted our £80 T-bone steak cooked and when it came out parts of it were raw. Staff were incredibly rude and unresponsive when informed of the cold food. Will not be returning.

Was looking forward to it as it was a first time out in months. Disappointed to be served food that had gone cold. Waiter was very unapologetic and unhelpful. Also don't order the T bone steak; wasn't cooked properly (uncooked on the inside)Waiters however seemed to be very keen when asking for more orders which really showed that they were interested in your wallet, but not your experience

First meal out in a while, the food was stone cold. Not one to complain but it was actually cold. The staff were rude and dismissive. We didn’t want money off or a refund just hot food.

The 12th April was not only a partial release of lockdown but my wife's birthday. Table booked outside on the terrace for 8.30pm. A cold evening (we came prepared with coats etc). Slow service, mediocre food, expensive Italian wine (Montepulciano @ £30/bottle) with screw top. Proved to be just about drinkable (probably supplied by Lidl or Aldi for £6.99 or less!) Ultimately charged £32 for it! Some of the items on the menu were no longer available (!) for both starters and main course, which wasn't a good start. We arrived at 8:40pm (had to wait for a table).Main course was served nearly an hour and a half later at 10.00pm....Too long. Overall we were underwhelmed and paid 12.5% service charge for (largely) being ignored by the staff...I realise that this was the first night of opening after a number of months but they should have been better prepared and have a better stock of their menu items...I would not return in a hurry and hate being ripped off for quite frankly poor wine...

I’ve been here many times and is always a real pleasure. Amazing location along the river, with a lovely view of tower bridge is just a perfect frame for this place. But what it really makes me feel at home is the proper Italian hospitality of this place and the excellent food. Chef Michele’s menu never disappoints our expectations. He likes to treat us with a perfect selection of starters, freshly made and absolutely yummy! I also usually have their homemade selection of pasta ( carbonara, seafood spaghetti, pappardelle in wild boar ragout, ravioli, paccheri with nduja e burrata!) my problem when I’m at Cantina is what to choose cause I would love to try everything! Best place for pasta lovers! And the desserts... tiramisu and panna cotta are my favourite.. also the portion sizes are absolutely generous compared to prices! I can’t wait to join this amazing family again! Thanks to chef Michele and all Cantina’s team You must go and visit them! See you soon guys

My boyfriend and I visited the restaurant for my birthday meal. Half the menu isn’t available which is misleading online! The options are very basic (Bolognese, Carbonara, Lasagna, Risotto). The chefs had obviously made things in bulk and bring it out as soon as it’s ready. Despite only having 4 dessert opinions, the waitress brought out the wrong order and ‘dumped’ the bowls down then quickly walked away. It was a very slap-dash experience and such a shame. I’ve probably had better experiences in chains such as Zizzis. The tables were also very close together inside. Disappointing I’m afraid.

Don’t even want to remember this visit. Half the menu wasn’t available ( at 7:45pm) took an hour for our glass of wine to come. The waitress acted Like anything we said was groundbreaking?!All in all very awkward advice is to get drunk before you come as you won’t here. Doesn’t matter whether sat inside or out, both an freezing! AVOID

From the moment we arrived it was just amazing .The food was fantastic the staff were so helpful I had the prawns and squid to start with a cream cheese sauce , the I had the cod with mussels . COVID distancing was well managed ..

Cantina del Ponte es uno de los puestos de avanzada más modestos del Imperio D & D, especialmente en comparación con sus vecinos más importantes, Le Pont de la Tour y Butler's Wharf Chophouse. Sirve una cocina italiana más tradicional que las ofertas más glamorosas del chef italiano Francesco Mattei en Radici, Sartoria y Fiume. Hoy vio el bienvenido regreso de los brunch de pasta de los domingos con un menú de tres platos construido alrededor de espaguetis a la carbonara mezclados en una rueda de queso Grana Padano con una selección de salsas y. una copa de Prosecco de cortesía. Elegí cubos de tocino picante para cubrir mis espaguetis, precedidos de albóndigas en salsa de tomate y seguidos de una panna cotta nadando en una salsa de frutos rojos. Todo un robo a los 20. Mi esposa optó por un pollo espatchcock a la carta; mi hija bruschetta, espaguetis a la boloñesa y helado del menú infantil dedicado.

Reservamos este restaurante por un capricho durante nuestra estancia en Tower Bridge. Me alegro de haberlo hecho, ya que la comida era deliciosa (tuve el salmón al horno y las papas al romero y las albóndigas como entrante) el servicio fue atento y la ubicación excelente. Definitivamente vendrá de nuevo.

Meh. No me impresionó. Llegó al restaurante a las 7 pm y pidió una copa de vino. Fue genial, así que pensé en pedir otro para mi amigo y para mí. El servidor regresó y dijo que no estaba disponible. Esta tendencia continuó unas 3 veces cuando pedí otros vinos. Ninguno de ellos estaba disponible; efectivamente, 4/7 vinos de la lista de vinos tintos no estaban disponibles. Básicamente, el restaurante nos obligó a pedir una botella de vino cara, que para empezar no era un gran vino y, por lo tanto, no formaba parte de las 4 opciones que tenía.Tu restaurante está lleno al 50%. Es jueves. Abriste a las 5 de la tarde, ¿a dónde se fue todo el vino? Realmente un poco gracioso. ¿Qué pueden anticipar las personas que vienen un viernes o sábado? Tengo muchas preguntas.Continuando, sin embargo, la comida es fantástica. El personal es agradable y la ubicación es perfecta. Se lo recomendaría a alguien que esté buscando una cita / lugar de reunión encantador, pero me hubiera gustado ver al gerente / personal tomar más iniciativa en el tema del vino; creo que eso realmente lo habría impulsado a una revisión de 5 estrellas.

Went there for the cheese wheel only to find out upon arrival that it couldn’t be served like that. Promoting your restaurant based on this dish and not having it, ridiculous..

Visité Cantina del Ponte con mi novia el 26 de septiembre para una cena de graduación de celebración. Compartimos un antipasti para empezar, que era el Antipasto Misto Della Casa (selección fría de carnes y queso peccorino). Las carnes sabían mucho como si acabaran de salir de un paquete de Aldi, y a los 12 años solo se puede describir como una estafa total. El queso estaba duro y sin sabor.Para platos principales, tuve la salchicha toscana rigatoni y mi novia tenía el linguini de mariscos "Cantina especialidad". Mi ración era muy pequeña, el rigatoni era duro y sin sabor, y apenas había salchichas toscanas. Mis amigos era una porción más generosa pero demasiado salada y no la disfrutó. Si esta es su especialidad, poco dice sobre el resto de platos que se ofrecen. La factura, que también incluía dos bebidas y un cargo por servicio del 13%, llegó a poco más de 80.Casi no había ambiente y nuestra mesa estaba sentada en la esquina del restaurante, ¡con una bonita vista de los baños! El servicio fue bastante rápido, pero eso fue lo único bueno que podría decir sobre nuestra experiencia en Cantina Del Ponte. Fue fácilmente la peor y más cara comida que tuvimos en nuestro viaje. No lo recomendaría.

He disfrutado de una fabulosa comida dominicalLa comida era extremadamente deliciosa y estaba a la altura de los estándares italianos, uno de los mejores en mi restaurante italiano favorito en Londres.Lo que hizo que nuestro almuerzo fuera perfecto, ¡fue nuestra camarera Anna! , educado, profesional y con un conocimiento increíble en cada plato, nos sugiere una increíble selección de entrantes y platos principales, definitivamente las claves de nuestro excelente almuerzo,¡Definitivamente volveremos pronto! !Realmente lo recomiendo, especialmente si encontraste una camarera como Anna, que definitivamente fue una alegría en el pastel de este hermoso restaurante. !

Romantic Lunch with my wife. We were on a day trip to London and stopped at Cantina del Ponte to have a quiet lunch for 2. Service was polite and attentive, venue was lovely ( seats outside overlooking Tower Bridge ) and the food was excellent. The food was excellent with my wife’s tuna main course being exceptional but only just ahead of the delicious calamari. Great lunch thank you

As it was a Monday in August 2020, we chose the Eat In to Help Out menu and it is excellent value at £10 per head. A choice of each of starters, mains and dessert. There is an a la carte menu available too. We pre-booked a table on the terrace overlooking the Thames and Tower Bridge. The tables are socially distanced and the menus one off use (paper). The waiting staff are welcoming and efficient. Our food was delicious - I had bruschetta, pasta and tiramisu. My husband had the beef carpaccio, lemon chicken and ice cream with espresso. We had a couple of drinks which, of course, puts the price up! A lovely experience and thoroughly recommended.

Close the Tower Bridge. We hadn't reservation so we sat inside. There's no air condition, but was quite OK. The food is absolutely delicious and the prices are not to high.

Honestly this is not a prop Italian restaurant. Service was ok but restaurant didn't look very clean. Food wasn't great and quite cold. You are paying for being on the river side and this is a tourist trap.

Great experience and impressive health and safety measures after Covid-19. Food was good and service with Ms Anna was excellent. She looked after us and made sure everything was great. Special thanks to Anna.

finally after a long break you can go back to savor the good proposals of Italian cuisine in a place attentive to the rules of the moment but with the same enthusiasm and professionalism good guys happy to have found you again

We've been going to Cantina for years, and once heard that restaurants are reopening, decided why not dine by tower bridge.Staff looked excited to be back and were showing it. It did feel a bit weird at once, with the masks and gloves on, approaching the table from a distance, but that's something all of us will have to get used to. Food was great, delicious as always, will definitely be back , like we always do.

We booked a table for the first evening after lockdown was eased, and after reading reviews we expected to be impressed. However, despite having a reservation we were made to wait outside for some time before being ushered to a bare table. We accessed menus on our phones and were disappointed with the lack of choice. We weren’t approached for a drinks order for over ten minutes, and when it came it was wrong. The food was basic at best, the drinks were nothing special, and the service was, at best, indifferent. We expected there to be enthusiasm and excitement from the staff after a long shutdown, and were met with the complete opposite. Great location, but nothing else that would make a return visit an option.

Had an amazing lunch here, was so fresh and delicious. The wine and cocktails were great too, will definitely be coming back!

Ubicado en un excelente lugar con vistas al puente de la torre desde afuera. El restaurante está impecable y muy bien decorado, con un personal atento y amable. Si bien el menú de comida es limitado, hay una opción para todos y tiene un buen precio. La comida es absolutamente deliciosa (claramente cocinada con ingredientes frescos) y el tamaño de las porciones es excelente.¡Lo recomendaría para una ocasión especial o simplemente una noche libre para cocinar!

Al ser locales en el área, nos miman los restaurantes a lo largo del río, que a menudo frecuentan Le Pont y The Chophouse en esta ocasión, decidimos hacer una reserva grupal en Cantina para una reunión familiar de 10 y nos alegramos mucho de haber hecho la experiencia. primera clase si desea una excelente experiencia culinaria italiana, la comida, el ambiente y el servicio eran como debería ser, con excelentes opciones y un servicio atento.Lo disfrutamos tanto que los dos cenamos allí de nuevo el domingo y tuvimos otro almuerzo encantador, recomiendo encarecidamente el espagueti de mariscos o pasta que se termina en la rueda de queso.Creo que ahora es nuestro restaurante ir también para cenar italiano.

I've been here many times and I can't really imagine another Italian restaurant in London! Service is really good but the kitchen is Superb! A big thank you to all Cantina's team!

Large group booked a table on Saturday night. Surprised we could get in at fairly short notice, soon realised why. Great location and staff friendly with good service. The food unfortunately was disappointing with too small portions, especially the pasta and risotto. The special Parmesan cheese wheel spaghetti with truffle was not very tasty with little taste of truffle which was the star ingredient. The cod fish main course was perfectly cooked but lacking in any depth of flavor. With so much choice in the city we would not return. The low point was the toilets, one blocked and unusable and the other with the loo seat cracked and pretty hideous to have to use.

You cannot come to this splendid city without being tempted to indulge in good italiancuisine which in this restaurant is interpreted with respect for tradition with an eye for the surprising raw materials and the novelty of the schiacciata served on a woodencutting board . And the familiar atmosphere is always appreciated

We found this Italian restaurant near the river , never tried before so we decided to have a dinner and we get one of the best Italian experience we ever had in the city The welcome was really warm since we open the door in a real Italian way We look at the menu which was a good selection and generically balanced We choose the schiacciata as starter to share and the special cacio e Pepe made inside of cheese wheel live on the table was all delicious The service was really friendly and nice Definitely our new Italian reference for the area

After a day out, we decided to have dinner here. It looked nice from the outside and we were on the area.Staff was nice and friendly. However, food was just average - gnocchi gorgonzola e noci was way too salty and the linguine allo scoglio were good but nothing special. Definetly, the food isn't worth the value. We are not dissapointed, but we wouldn't go back.

En un viaje a Londres para ver un espectáculo en el cercano The Theatre Theatre. El restaurante tiene un ambiente rústico y excelentes vistas sobre el Támesis, sería encantador en verano. Nos recibieron y nos llevaron a una mesa, no estaba muy ocupado, pero no dejes que eso te desanime, ¡fue una gran comida! Pedimos 2 aperol spritz y fueron realmente muy buenos, lo mejor que he probado. Decidimos pedir un poco de focaccia que también era excelente, suave con la cantidad justa de sal y aceite / balsámico para acompañar. Para nuestro plato principal, el especial para compartir, que es un espagueti de trufa servido desde una rueda del cielo de Pecorino para los amantes del queso como yo y mi madre. Belissima!

Fuimos aquí temprano en la noche antes de un espectáculo en el cercano Bridge Theatre. ¡Estaba casi vacío! Fue una agradable bienvenida y un buen servicio en todo momento. Y un buen ambiente. Elegimos del menú especial Evening Standard: 2 platos para 15 que incluyen una pequeña copa de vino. Mi hija y yo disfrutamos mucho nuestras comidas y las raciones no eran escasa. Compartimos un entrante y un postre, así como un correo cada uno, y todo fue una excelente relación calidad-precio. El menú a la carta es extenso.

Accoglienza fantastica anche se arrivati alle 22 di lunedì sera. Ottimo cibo, di gusto e con molta attenzione. Fantastica musica.

Ocho de nosotros más un niño pequeño y un bebé cenamos aquí para celebrar dos cumpleaños. Encontramos un estacionamiento costoso cerca, pero facilitó nuestra visita. Elegí croquetas de queso ahumado para comenzar. Los tres fueron agradables pero pequeños! Luego tuve Lasagne, que era solo una porción en un tazón sin guarnición, ¡muy caro a los 15! El servicio fue agradable, pero fue difícil llamar la atención. No me apresuraré a regresar. . .

For a Saturday, the restaurant was dead when we arrived at 12.45, atlhough there were a few tables occupied by the time we left about 3 pm. The restaurant is a 10 minute walk from London Bridge Station. It is in the shadow of Tower Bridge, so an attractive place to dine, especially if you have an outside table (although not in January!) Inside, it has a shabby, Italian tratoria feel about the place.

Cena a base di piatti italiani molto buoni.... gnocchi gorgonzola e noci affettati di qualita e ottimo vino. La cosa che non mi é piaciuta é mangiare sul tavolo di legno senza tovaglia. Il posto è molto bello situato sulle sponde del Tamigi con vista spettacolare. Secondo me è molto più affascinante l'estate quando si può stare all'aperto.

Great views of the river Thames. Food is pretty good, tasty and nicely presented. Staff are mostly friendly but could try being a little less abrupt in tone. The interior could do with a revamp as it feels dated and has poor acoustics (if one table is occupied in the middle of the restaurant, it reverberates around the entire room so you can't hear anyone at your table speak without shouting). Overall it's very average with nothing to miss if you don't visit. It's also probably nicer in summer when there are more people wandering around Shad Thames.

I could not have asked for a better birthday dinner. The food was fantastic, and so was the overall whole experience. Our waitress, Oana was superb. I have never had quite the level of amazing overall experience at a restaurant like I had at this one. I am so glad we came here.

This small strip of restaurants at Butlers Wharf boast a fantastic Thames-side location with a super-yacht or two usually moored outside but unfortunately this particular restaurant doesn’t match up to its location or indeed the price tag.

Food was delicious but the service was terrible. Took a long time for them to take our order and at one point the waitress tried to squeeze between me and the person behind - there was no room and nowhere for us to go!!! She kept trying until I pointed this out and said to walk around the table. No check backs and very delayed in general. Would not recommend. They weren't even that busy.

We had a fabulous dinner at the Cantina.

We had the set menu and a bottle of wine. The food was lovely and nicely cooked and the staff were charming. I would advise you to have a side dish with the main course as I just had chicken in sauce and it would have been nicer and more filling with potato or vegetables but other than that it was perfect and I would go back.

Our food was decent. My steak was luke warm, but it was cooked perfectly for those who like medium-rare on the rarer side. The other diners I was with got pasta, and it looked delicious. For the area, the prices are reasonable on the menu - but their specials were a bit overpriced. There are many gluten-free options for the celiac diners. The area is lovely, with beautiful views of the Thames.

Last night was the White Truffle Supper Club hosted by manager Ornets and Chef Michele which was wonderful and made all the better by the wine parings being explained to us by Daniele who suppled the wine. There was a great warm atmosphere amounst the event diners and also in the restaurant on a cold Wednesday evening. Looking forward the next event at a great Italian restaurant with one of the best views in London.

I been at cantina last year for summer time and I was so happy to find this little gem hide in this area of the city..... was an amazing experience
