We loved the decor and atmosphere of this restaurant as soon as we walked in. Tables were widely spaced and layouts were arranged differently to meet the needs of groups or couples. It was lovely being able to watch the chef and his staff at work. Staff in the restaurant were lovely and chatty making customers feel at home. We opted for the tasting menu but portions were more akin to a la carte size! Be warned the ‘snacks’ alone equate to a main course especially if you eat all the lovely bread! Our favourite course was the monkfish, closely followed by the raviolo and dessert. Venison was well cooked but a bit full of gristle as it was haunch. Everything was beautifully presented. As I was driving I enjoyed a great mock tail with 0% gin and Armagh Apple. Definitely will return to try the a la carte menu.

Wow, what an exceptional place for dinner. Delicious food, amazing friendly service and a comfortable warm and tastefully decorated setting. All of the staff we interacted with were lovely but in particular Katie was fantastic. Great service blended with Irish charm and wit. The food was freshly cooked, served in a timely manner and mouthwatering. This place is a must stop for anyone visiting Camlough or the surrounding areas.

The Savoy Cafe is a great place for good food and a bit of banter with staff who are friendly and helpful. We travel from Lisburn to Newcastle on a regular basis as we enjoy the Savoy and after breakfast or lunch, a good long walk along the coastal path towards the Mournes which is spectacular in any weather.....

Good location, nice ambience, decent staff that wants to be helpful, but lacking in knowledge about food. Obviously they use decent ingredients, but lack of skills or poor execution lets them down. I didn't ask for ice in my drink, I got ice. I didn't ask for sugar in my coffee, it was sweet. The menu said "poached egg", but egg was definitely not poached and hollandaise did not have a texture or taste of the hollandaise sauce. To top it off it came to nearly £25 for a brunch, one dish and two drinks, if the quality was good I wouldn't even mention price. However when you pay that sort of money for something that you didn't entirely enjoy, it feels like a rip off. Plenty of awards on walls, but when I asked a simple question about one of ingredients, they couldn't even tell me where it comes from, makes you wonder if they have any awareness if the products they are using.

First time ever visiting this cafe as it came highly recommended, upon arrival we chose are own seats as the staff were busy chatting with some friends,we sat patiently as other customers were shown to their seats and presented with menus, the staff continued to serve the customers that arrived after us by which point we had to ask for menus which was met with an attitude of disgust and inconvenience. When a member of staff finally decided to take our orders she stood chewing gum and really came across as being inconvenienced by our presence. We decided to cancel our order as after 10 mins of ordering our drinks we still had not been served so decided to leave,we explained this to the staff and instead of trying to rectify the situation they were happy for us to leave(less for them to do I suppose). Would recommend driving a bit further and find somewhere more welcoming.

Food was good. The waitresses friendly and efficient. I’d booked a table the week before for a special occasion. On our arrival there was no table and was pointed to a table that would be ready in a few minutes, after 40 minutes wait we were shown to a very large table in an alcove. The food was nice and service good, however it was a case of eat and run, the table was too big, we couldn’t have a conversation with each other, it was beside the waiter station and kitchen door and the cutlery was constantly being clattered with. If I ever went back I wouldn’t book, I’d take a chance and see what tables were available.

My wife and myself went yesterday for Sunday lunch. Good variety of dishes on the menu. My wife had brie for starter, she said it was perfectly cooked and delicious. For main course my wife opted for pasta and I ordered the roast beef dinner. The roast beef was lovely and tender, three big slices, with mash, roast potatoes, carrot and parsnips and then a bowl of roasted vegetables arrived. The staff were really helpful and attentive. Will definitely call again.

Saw the menus on their website & saw the pictures that they had posted & thought that this restaurant looked like the kind of place we would enjoy. What a disappointment! The menu was not what they advertised on their website, when we questioned the waiter about the menu he said that they hadn’t used that one for about 2 months. The presentation of our meals was most definitely not similar to the pictures on the website, the leeks must’ve flown over the leek & potato soup, would not recommend & we were very sorry we had taken our friends there & would most definitely not be back!!
