We had the seafood chowder which had a lovely flavour however, the potatoes were slightly hard and the consistency was not right for a chowder. As this cafe was highly recommended will shall give it another try.

Went here on foot of a recommendation from a friend. Would highly recommend. Food was wonderfully seasoned and cooked. Fish batter was fresh and made all the difference in the tasty. Great selection on the menu too. We had a chat with the owner who was very warm and friendly, you can tell the food is made with love. Saving for the best for last, but the brownie is a MUST in this place. Couldn't resist buying on the way out, but the best brownie I've ever tasted. We will be back!

Fantastic food & coffee. Absolutely perfect after a long walk in the Mournes. Really friendly & helpful staff also. Had the venison burger which was out of this world.

The food is fantastic here. We had squid, beef and chicken burgers and the veggie option. All were perfect. The care and attention put into each dish shone through.

Tried this place for the first time and I am already looking forward to the next visit. My wife and I both had the dexter beef burger and we shared chips. The burger was the nicest I have ever tasted and the chips were perfect. The service and staff are so nice also.

The Chef Patron, Paul, is so passionate about the menus he prepares and the food he prepares. He chats away to customers, making them feel every part of the experience. Uses local and seasonal produce, with a knowledge of foraging for ingredients since he was very young. Sustainability is a key 'ingredient'. While seating in the takeaway is limited, we do prefer to sit in; get a bit of craic and eat our meals fresh out of the box! Check out the Supper Club which is also a gourmet experience to delight the palate.

Just Wow! A hot food bar with sit in or take away and a menu as delicious as it is different. Had the Dexter Burger and Southern Fried Cauliflower, others went with Arancini and Chips. Fresh, delicious and very local, Paul the owner chef is a human dynamo, you almost feel giddy watching him run too and fro! This was a splendid experience and I cannot recommend Scopers highly enough. I am looking forward to our next visit to the Mournes and to introducing more of our friends to this little gem of an eatery. Not open all week so pick your days with care.

Incredible little eatery that we happened upon in Dundrum! The food is of such a high standard-we were all speechless when eating and talked about long after we left! Lovely covered picnic area out the back where we could devour the food whilst hot. Our group comprised of two vegans and sometimes it’s difficult to find a menu with such great choices in Ireland. Honourable mentions - Tempura Courgette Flower with Goats Cheese, Vegan Chili, Triple Cooked Chips, Scotch Egg, Buttermilk Chicken Burger and Battered Cauliflower with Chili Jam. Cannot recommend highly enough! The staff were super friendly and chatty. We were just sorry to miss the Newcastle Food Festival the following weekend which the chef was coordinating with other vendors in the area. Scopers would entice us back to the North for a visit alone!!

Called in here after a beach walk with elderly Uncle in Newcastle on our way back to Belfast. Able to park at the door (disabled bay). Staff very patient when ordering. Had chicken burger and Uncle had a pie with skin on chips. You are able to eat on picnic tables at the front or in a covered area at the rear. Food was very tasty and great value. All in all a real fab gem of a find- we have eaten at a fish and chip shop and a squid shop and a more expensive restaurant all on that same parade of shops on the same side of the road - this was better than all of them !

Excellent chips to take out! Possibly the best takeout chips we have ever had accompanied with excellent customer service. The lady was very generous in her portion size and welcoming to us as first time visitors to Northern Ireland. We were very impressed with the opportunity to gift a meal which we did! A must chip shop to sample.

Saw the menus on their website & saw the pictures that they had posted & thought that this restaurant looked like the kind of place we would enjoy. What a disappointment! The menu was not what they advertised on their website, when we questioned the waiter about the menu he said that they hadn’t used that one for about 2 months. The presentation of our meals was most definitely not similar to the pictures on the website, the leeks must’ve flown over the leek & potato soup, would not recommend & we were very sorry we had taken our friends there & would most definitely not be back!!

My wife and myself went yesterday for Sunday lunch. Good variety of dishes on the menu. My wife had brie for starter, she said it was perfectly cooked and delicious. For main course my wife opted for pasta and I ordered the roast beef dinner. The roast beef was lovely and tender, three big slices, with mash, roast potatoes, carrot and parsnips and then a bowl of roasted vegetables arrived. The staff were really helpful and attentive. Will definitely call again.

Beautiful course with outstanding views. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd say it's a bit on the casual side for such a good course. The only downside I can come up with is that it might not be too challenging for a low handicapper.

Came across this wee cafe when visiting Newcastle. We had a baked potato which was delicious and so was the salad. We could get cortado coffees which were spot on. Thanx for a gr8 experience
