Cafe at The Museum in Castlereagh

First time here, staff very friendly and food tasty, will definitely be back!

I had planned on visiting a nearby restaurant (Toast) before visiting the Museum of Orange Heritage, but I was disappointed when I found it closed at 14:30 in the afternoon. To my surprise, the museum had its own café and I was able to order a delicious panini with chips. The overall dining experience didn’t knock my socks off, but the café certainly came to the rescue. It was a delicious lunch and I’m glad I didn’t have to peruse the museum on an empty stomach.

Arrived at 15:15 with many customers still in to be told it was only serving tea and coffee with tray bakes. The closing time is 4pm and with elderly company present who were only after soup, sandwich or stew something small this was not ideal and we left. We had family over from across seas and were greatly disappointed in the customer service levels as it was very embarrassing. I have also been in earlier and was put off due to comments from a member of staff trying to push customers out before closing time and was very loud in stating that she had a child to collect. There was other members of staff who could’ve closed to let her get away again customer service was shocking and we were made to feel uncomfortable due to the atmosphere created by staff. I have been in on more than 4 occasions and seen this occur and it’s extremely off putting. The two stars is for cleanliness. Also furthermore it is illegal to look at customers on cctv without their consent. We were told by the young girl with fair hair that it was tea and coffee on Tuesday as the hot food was stopped. Yet you have stated it closed for hot food at half 3 we were in before half 3 and still should have been offered as you have clearly stated. We were not offered sandwiches at all either. We have our own business and have had to stay behind after closing hours this is part of owning a business. The only customers who are treated fairly are the regulars and this should not be the case regardless of how often you are there everyone should be treated the same. A customer service review is well needed by all levels of staff; owner included. To conclude due to the response which was received it has also not met customer service standards and we will not back.

The staff here are Amazing ..I have been here on a few occasions and I can honestly say how homely the place is and the staff go above and beyond..

Service was excellent food was lovely, on the downside was the very long wait on our food, other than that we would definitely recommend here

Fairly decent wee cafe. Never went into the museum. Don't like sauce from sachets, which is all they had. Food was decent and a fair enough price.

Love it here, always stop for a bite of lunch when in the area, from donaghadee but the service food and staff are great ...plus I can have a nosy in the wee museum

A very clean, reasonably priced cafe. The staff are always super busy, though they provide a friendly service with great food. At busy times, there may be a short wait as very popular.

Been a few times to this lovely well run Café having scones or a cooked breakfast can't fault any of the food, the staff are excellent I would recommend a visit.

Stopped there with my father for lunch after a hospital appointment. Really only expected a sandwich and cup of tea but how wrong we were. Had a delicious and piping hot Christmas Dinner at a very reasonable price. Staff and customers were both friendly and accommodating. My father announced that he would be back - high praise indeed!

Great staff and really good food at a fair price.

On a dark dull December day we discovered this gem. Initially we only wanted soup and cups of tea. Is it possible to deliver a smile while wearing a mask, oh yes, our friendly waitress did. How wonderful to meet someone who enjoys her job. Our problem was what to choose, an incredible choice on the large selection board and even more choices on menu. Generous portions, delicious food and promptly delivered orders as well as the most friendly staff will make this our favourite place to lunch now. All the other customer had smiles on their faces and all the food looked delicious.

Food is very good, and staff are very friendly

Good food well presented, friendly staff

Went with a friend for the first time today and cannot fault this place. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the food is amazing!! We had salad bowls on the recommendation of the staff and we weren't disappointed. Can't wait to go back. Would really recommend a visit if you haven't been before.

I posted my first review to the museum, but luckily was back within 2 days for another lunch, and had the filled breakfast bap with 2 eggs, 2 sausages and 2 bacon. Simple but really really nice. Not greasy at all, came served with a chutney. Filling and good value. Granny going today with her friends on my recommendation. lovely wee cafe, busy, friendly, and well worth a visit.

Amazing food , great staff ,nothing too impossible..I ordered something not in the menu and they obliged without any fuss and needless to say it was so nice and tasty .Home from Home ....defo be back when lockdown ends ...10 out of 5

Had a pleasant lunch here. Coffee was excellent, baked potato with bacon, cheese and mushrooms served with salad enjoyable too. Salad bowl a friend had looked great! Large, well filled and all nice and fresh. Pleasant staff and proprietors too.

Have visited this cafe previously for coffee and Scones, but, last Thursday we visited around lunch time and had a large fry each. Can't find fault with the frys, they were very tasty, warm and good value for money. Cost for the 2 large Frys and teas was £14.70. Staff were very friendly and the place was very clean, the tables were cleaned after they were cleared. Will definitely return. Worth giving them the business.

This is a café with a very pleasant atmosphere atmosphere. It has a very extensive menu and the food we had was delicious as well as very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Called in when on a visit to Museum, friendly cooperative staff and excellent good value food, will be back.

The food is excellent the cafe itself is bright and cheery and the staff are all very nice and friendly great wee place to go

Some friends and family met here for lunch. We all had a fairly good meal with plenty of food at a reasonable price. Luckily it wasn’t too busy with museum visitors so we were able to find room for 8. Children were well catered for too.

Doing some business in the area during the morning. Called in for lunch a brief look at the menu it looked like the usual. The waitress came across I asked for a chicken wrap. The options were plain, spinach or beetroot wrap which seems somewhat strange. After choosing the beetroot she said good choice. In the end, it was indeed a good choice if not a bit strange looking. As can be seen from the photo. Next time the spinach.
