Little Thai Cafe and Bistro in Castlereagh

First time my wife and I have been and we'll certainly be back. The service was excellent, attentive but not overpowering and the food was of a high standard. We were so impressed with our dining experience in Little Thai that we've booked again in two weeks and intend having a family meal there in the New Year.

I went here on Thursday for a sit in meal with my sister and husband as a birthday treat. The food was out of this world. Absolutely delicious, so full of flavour and the portions were more than generous. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. We will definitely return for another meal.

First time at this place. Food was amazing - we visited mid week - It was quiet but don’t let that put you off - the food is delicious and very authentic.

Ordered food at 7 and was told it would be ready at 7:50. I was told upon arrival (at 7:50) that the food would be another ten minutes but I ended up waiting 40 minutes (got food at 8:30). No offer of reimbursement. Food is lovely but would expect better on the service front.

The food is consistently great but tonight we ordered a takeaway to pick up. We arrived at the stated time but we have been waiting 40minutes for the food to come out. It still hasn’t arrived yet and the staff don’t seem bothered by the fact we’ve been waiting for so long. Disappointing way to spend a Saturday night.

One of the best Tom Yum Soups I ever had (and I've been to Thailand twice). Definitely coming back to try their other dishes.

After reading up on this Thai restaurant we decided to give it a go and we were not disappointed. Staff were busy but still very friendly. We arrived about 25 mins before our booking but they still accommodated us. We have satay chicken & chicken wings starters which was delicious especially the sauces for both. For the main meals we had beef massaman curry and chicken phad thai. It was great to get a spicy phad thai which was delicious and also the massaman was equally delicious, the beef melted in the mouth.

Great service and excellent food. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the best Thai food I have ever tasted. It was also great value especially giving the quality of the ingredients used. Will definitely be back soon.

Our second visit here. So good we drive from Bangor for the food. It is delicious. The girl who served is was friendly and chatty. It is probably the best Thai in Belfast area including North Down

Always perfect eating in or delivery.. Staff is very pleasant when eating in I love that the menu is not overwhelmed and simple plus you can ask for food to be cooked for your liking... Just tried something different from the noodle menu for delivery and was yummy... Keep up the great service, regular customer and alway will be.

We ordered food for collection on a Friday night - wait time was not unreasonable and the food was outstanding. We had fishcakes, chicken wings, Tom Yum hot pot and BBQ pork. Would recommend to anyone who likes Asian food. We are officially regulars

Best Thai in NIreland. Great food and amazing staff

Great food, spicy prawn salad was great & duck curry was a winner. 2 for 1cocktails were a delight. Staff friendly and efficient. The only negative was the delivery driver decided to take a sleep at tye table next to us, which was a bit off putting.

We got takeaway Thai chicken wings, starter Tom yum prawn soup and bbq pork and rice. All was great but the Tom yum in particular was blow your mind flavour and for being a starter was a great portion size. Still thinking of how good it was a week later, can’t wait to get it again!

The food (very tasty and portions good) and service were excellent. I bought two friends who had not been there before and they thought it was excellent too. Only criticism is that it was a little chilly in the restaurant. Brilliant value for money though if you want a quality dining experience without it costing the earth.

Great gluten free options. Clearly Labelled which can be made gluten free. Delivery also has gluten free available . Well worth a visit and food is delicious.

Recently had a take away from the Little Thai and we were impressed. Having been to Thailand we know what a Green Curry should taste like and theirs was excellent. It had the correct ingredients and a lovely flavour. By the way full marks for the biodegradable packaging, and neatly presentation...just want you to know that people care. We now can't wait to visit the Bistro in the very near future. Thank you Little Thai, see you soon.

We were visiting Northern Ireland again for the third time this year (2022) this time sadly to say our final goodbye, he lost his fight against cancer after 2 years. We looked around via the usual methods trying to locate a suitable restaurant in the Newtownards area of Belfast and discovered Little Thai Cafe, they were quick to respond to our online enquiry and promptly reserved our table for seven. With going into big detail I can only say the night was a great success, the food was 10/10, the staff were 10/10 the overall experience 10/10, I will be returning to Ireland to visit my brother's family and the first place I revisit will be this delightful restaurant. All party members gave praise for all of the elements and all said they were very impressed. And just to add my wife is Thai, her food and cooking are excellent and her feedback was of the highest praise except for the Thai fishcakes which we discussed with the owner :-) The most important note from me was that this is a Thai restaurant and unlike others, they only offer genuine Thai authentic dishes, a good selection, and all superb.

I had the spicy chicken cashew curry with rice. One of the best thai places in Belfast. I love it and have already gone here thrice . My partner tried their pad thai. It was amazing as well. Really good portion sizes as well.

Lovely wee restaurant in East Belfast. Good food cooked with care and plenty of gluten free choices. Big portions and reasonably priced too.

The best Thai resturant, in Belfast by a mile. Would recommend it to anyone definitely, supposedly it's the most authentic Thai restaurant in Northern Ireland aswell. Its by far my favourite. If you eat Thai even once a year buy it from here.

Fell upon this little restaurant on TripAdvisor last night, made a quick booking based upon the reviews and headed straight over. We ordered the beef massaman, pineapple fried rice and the beef in black pepper sauce - all outstanding. Couldn’t fault it, we love Thai food and this is one of the best meals we’ve ever had - we’ve had a lot! Staff super friendly and helpful, thank you, we can’t wait to return next time we’re in Belfast. Also - try the Little Tropical Smile cocktail, amazing.

We had dinner in here today and waited 1 hour and half for our main, the bill was also so expensive, the dumplings were undercooked, chicken wings were greasy, mains were a 3.5 ish out of 5, unfortunately we won’t be coming back

I ordered for delivery last night and I am still basking in a warm fuzzy glow from the experience! Firstly, I am blown away by the Original Beef Panang with pineapple rice. Simply the most delicious Thai dish I have ever eaten. Secondly, the delivery was impressive - every care taken to safely transport the food, with minimal plastics (sturdy cardboard boxes, all carefully sealed with a masking tape). The delivery driver also pointed out that he suspected a leak and waited while I checked. There was no leak, but I really appreciated his honesty and concern. This was an absolutely blissful experience from end to end. I can’t wait to order again, and hopefully eat in the restaurant! Thank you and well done Little Thai Cafe!!!

Had to throw out the Pad Thai. It had an awful taste

The food at Little Thai is beautiful and you can tell it is freshly made, however the service was not so good. As a table of 6 we had to wait 30 mins after we had been seated for someone to come over and take our drinks and food order. There was over an hour in between the starter and main course with no communication or apologies from staff about the wait. When paying the bill we asked to half or remove the £20 service charge that had been added to our bill as we didn't feel like the service was worth what we had been charged. This led to a very awkward encounter with the waitress who basically begged us not to remove the full service charge. We paid half the service charge because the food was so lovely but the service doesn't match the standards of the food. We arrived at the restaurant at 7:30 and did not leave to after 10pm which is a very long time for an evening meal which most of it was spent waiting and not actually eating.

I would just like to thank the team for the perfect service we received tonight over our meal.. the food was the best I've had in an Asian restaurant in years, the timeing, presentation and friendliness of staff hard to beat. I would also say the quality of the meat dishes where outstandingly fresh and tender 👌 a hidden jem almost reluctant to put this review up incase it gets so busy I can't rebook a big thanks to all at the Little Thai

Easy booking online and reminders etc Food was lovely you could tell it was authentic Thai and a nice atmosphere Myself and my wife enjoyedthe whole experience and I was impressed by the lady whom was running the whole show and not out to impress as the food does that for itself It was a Thursday evening so not as busy I'm sure of like a Friday or Saturday where she might need a hand ☺

I went to The Little Thai yesterday for a Networking Lunch. Firstly let me say that the service was impeccable. We did not feel under any pressure, and the gap between courses was perfect. About 10 mins to allow each course to settle before going on to the next. Initially we all had a selection of canapes which were outstanding. For my main course I had what could only be described as the best Thai Green Curry I have ever tasted. Just amazing food, exceptional service. All of the members were blown away by The Little Thai. Outstanding!!!

I had the roasted BBQ pork on rice which was absolutely delicious and my girlfriend had the beef Panang curry. We both agreed it was the best Thai we've ever had, would highly recommend!

The staffs are friendly but I’m giving 3-star because they forgot to serve my pad thai. I suggest that the team should check their customer’s table every once in a while to see if an order is missed? Oh well, it was my first time and hopefully the last. Eventually, I got served with my pad thai after getting the staff’s attention. (Awkward lol) Sure I’ll be back for the sticky rice with mango next time. 😋

Delicious, fresh and consistent as ever from Little Thai. Chicken and cashew nuts is always spot on. A couple of mains, starters and sides is more than enough for two hungry adults. Also had pad thai, salt and pepper squid, Thai fish cakes and steamed veg. All delicious. Plenty leftovers to nibble at the next day! Prompt delivery despite it being a Friday evening. Still hot on delivery (EDIT: including all dishes).

Had takeaway tonight. I had Prawn Pad Thai and Satay Chicken. Food was absolutely lovely! I definitely will be ordering again.

My daughter and I fancied a takeaway on a Sunday evening and ordered food at 5.50pm, food was meant to be delivered between 6.50pm-7.10. Food was late so phoned at 7.30pm and restaurant stated they had unexpected orders come in at once with a lack of drivers! Promised that food would be here at 8pm. Still not here at 8.30pm. We are very disappointed at such poor service and we have been left very hungry! Have been trying to phone the restaurant however no answer. Will not be ordering food here again.

From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted with a smile. Within a minute we were seated at our table. We were given the menus and in a very polite manner explained there offers on there evening menu. I have to say the starters were out of this world it’s was perfectly cooked and looked amazing. The main arrived when we were finished our starters again we were not expecting such a high standards of food. It was absolutely fantastic I definitely recommend the red duck curry was fantastic. The staff were an absolute pleasure always a smile and we even spoke to the chef as we had to say something about the quality of food that we were given I do believe that when you received such good service and fantastic food the chef should know how nice it was. We will be back. 10 out 10

The service received was absolutely impeccable, immaculate and so genuine. Staff was wonderful and incredibly kind. The food was something out of this world, the best Thai food I have ever tasted in my whole life. The taste and the presentation were absolutely impeccable and so delicious! We will be back tomorrow! Great service, lovely food on a cold, wet night, only downside they need their door fixed so people at the front of premises can enjoy the food in comfort and while it is hot in temperature.....

Despite the food being excellent the restaurant are very obviously prioritising deliveries over the people paying to sit in their restaurant. A lot of tables waiting and not served in order of arrival. All witnessing large amounts of deliveries of food going out to waiting cars whilst we all wait a very long time for any main courses. Disappointing but when the food arrived it was great. Please give preference to those who make an effort to come out on a Saturday night .

Ordered online on their website for collection. They didn't find the order so I had to sit and wait. When I asked what happened they shrugged their shoulders and said it just happens. No word of apology. That's all it would have taken to bring me back!

Normally really good but the massaman curry was not nearly as good as normal tonight and the chips were completely soggy and pale. Portion of rice was smaller than it used to be as well.

This is a lovely little Thai restaurant, and a perfect place to spend your Spend Local voucher when you get it. I had the Thai green curry followed by the coconut cake. The curry had a nice combination of flavour and heat; howeve the coconut cake was divine, really light sponge with the coconut icing. The staff were really friendly and allowed me to split the bill between my Spend Local voucher and other means.

Ordered a delivery at 9pm on Friday evening. Nothing arrived by 10pm. Called the restaurant. Was informed they had made a mistake, missed the order and the chef had gone home. No dinner for us tonight. Despite being regular customers (no longer), there was not even an offer of free prawn crackers next time, LOL. Not a great way to keep your loyal customers, loyal. [P.S. the restaurant did not offer to refund dinner and deliver a free dinner the next day, they offered to deliver the order the next day, and when we declined, confirmed a refund would come through ASAP. If they meant to offer a free dinner AND a refund as claimed, that was unfortunately not clear; who would decline such a gesture?].
