Excellent chips to take out! Possibly the best takeout chips we have ever had accompanied with excellent customer service. The lady was very generous in her portion size and welcoming to us as first time visitors to Northern Ireland. We were very impressed with the opportunity to gift a meal which we did! A must chip shop to sample.

This review is for the McCanns in Newcastle Co Down. The cod was flaky and the batter light but the chips were the best takeaway chips I have ever eaten. Im sure all your takeaways live up to the same standard. The staff were friendly and helpful. Just keep doing what you are doing McCann's...

Stopped off whist in area to try fish. Terrible wait on Easter Tuesday night. After waiting at least 5 minutes we were told it would be up to 20 minutes before next orders were even taken. I waited and eventually got to order a cod and pair of sausages. So another 15 minute wait ensued. Using an electronic token to beep when ready. The fish was ok but they wrapped it before I could say don't,as it steams and leaves soggy. A fresh fish does not smell fishy. This one had a slight whiff,which meant it was nut 100% fresh. It was edible enough. Sausages were small. I was hungry and ate it. But the 45 minute wait is just too much.

Stopped here for food this evening as the restaurants are still closed here. The fish and chips were excellent so not surprising the have won awards

Saw the menus on their website & saw the pictures that they had posted & thought that this restaurant looked like the kind of place we would enjoy. What a disappointment! The menu was not what they advertised on their website, when we questioned the waiter about the menu he said that they hadn’t used that one for about 2 months. The presentation of our meals was most definitely not similar to the pictures on the website, the leeks must’ve flown over the leek & potato soup, would not recommend & we were very sorry we had taken our friends there & would most definitely not be back!!

Main StreetThe Savoy Cafe is a great place for good food and a bit of banter with staff who are friendly and helpful. We travel from Lisburn to Newcastle on a regular basis as we enjoy the Savoy and after breakfast or lunch, a good long walk along the coastal path towards the Mournes which is spectacular in any weather.....

Castle PlaceA challenging golf course (especiallywhen the wind gets up and the Irish Sea beckons), spectacular scenery and the warmest hospitality you'll find anywhere. My particular favourite holes - the 1st gets you thinking from the off, a carry over the gully into the wind on the 2nd, the elevated tee shot on the 4th with bunkers and the sea waiting for any error, the beautiful par 5 11th (St John's) by Coney Island, and the often brutal par 3 12th. I can't wait to play the newly developed par 5 16th - it looks fabulous.
