The best restaurants serving Indian food in Ladywood Birmingham West Midlands

We went for some food and a drink, but unfortunately it was fully booked so we stayed for a drink. The atmosphere was buzzing and the food looked and smelled amazing. Hopefully we will be able to get a table next time. EDIT: Food is brilliant, and extremely good value for money.

Came here on a Monday evening with my wife during a visit to the Christmas Market. We live in South Yorkshire and decided to do some research on line to find an Indian Restaurant not too far from our Hotel. I believe this restaurant has been operating since the early 1960's and the reviews looked pretty decent. We were certainly not disappointed. For us this was the best Indian food we have eaten at a restaurant for many years. It reminded me of my favourite Indian restaurant in Sheffield back in the early 1980's which is no longer around unfortunately. The service from Gahib (I think this is his name) was excellent. A very friendly guy and it was important to him that we enjoyed our evening. If I visit Birmingham again, I will definitely eat here again. It was pretty quiet on the evening we ate there but it was a Monday night. I would think it gets busy at the weekend

Food is excellent. Real punjabi taste. Spices and taste are excellent. Service people are little lost . They need to improve. They even added item to bill which I have not ordered though they deleted when pointed out. Rest everything is perfect .

Definitely the best Indian restaurant. Great food, good cocktails and amazing vibe! A little expensive but totally worth it.

Excellent food and service with Prajna and Behnaz. We had sharing platter for start and chicken methi and Dehli Korma for mains with coffee to finish. Fabulous. 5 star

If you haven't been to Mowgli before.... please just try it... I've walked past this place several times and never popped in but trying to impress some colleagues we came in here. First of all the restaurant is lovely nice décor, comfortable and welcoming. The staff were attentive and all of them were happy to help. We even had the manager check in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. And the food was amazing, hot, fresh and fast.... the menu was unique compared to other places in the area and we will certainly be returning very soon!

Just had a great meal at Celebrity Indian restaurant. Warmly greeted by staff and given a table with a great view of Broad St. Food was amazing and tasty. Great service by friendly staff. Will definitely be back. Go and try it make your own mind up...you will not be disappointed.

Llegué a este restaurante, ya que parecía estar muy bien calificado en Tripadvisor... ...gran error! De todos los restaurantes indios para visitar en Birmingham elegimos uno donde la calidad de la comida era bastante mala, pero como si eso no fuera lo suficientemente malo, el personal no estaba de acuerdo con nosotros y no dijo nada malo con él. Mi marido fue a por el balti que estaba deseando ya que no habíamos comido desde el desayuno y le encanta un balti. Durante toda la comida no dijo nada y no parecía que estuviera disfrutando. El mío no era genial y el peshwari naan era posiblemente el peor peshwari que había tenido; realmente seco, quemado en un lado y una pequeña cantidad de coco simplemente se cayó. No pude comerlo y repartirlo entre 3 platos para disimular el hecho de que no me gustaba. Cuando llegó el camarero mi marido dijo que el balti no era genial; dijo que era soso e insípido (lo describió como igual que pollo en salsa). El camarero regresó y dijo que había hablado con el chef y el chef no dijo nada malo en ello! Me apresuro a añadir aquí que no teníamos ninguna intención de tratar de obtener descuento en la factura; que sólo estábamos dando comentarios de los clientes y, por extraño que parezca, las dos últimas críticas en Tripadvisor describen la comida como sosa! Cuando nos fuimos, el camarero detuvo a mi marido y dijo que así es como se cocina el balti en Birmingham y mi marido debería haber dicho si quería picante! Mi marido ha comido más curry que cenas asadas así que conoce su comida india. La peor experiencia, especialmente cuando el personal te dice que no hay nada malo con la comida y es culpa de los clientes. ¡Seguro que el cliente que paga puede dar su opinión! Si esto está en lo alto de la lista de restaurantes, el resto debe ser terriblemente malo.

I have been going to this restaurant for about 25yrs. Staff always friendly, food always tasty. Recommended.

Este establecimiento ha cambiado de franquicia muchas veces. El punto culminante más grande que solía ser el desayuno buffet los fines de semana, esto se ha diluido con el tiempo. La mayoría de los platos son normales, como suele suceder con la comida del sur de la India, ocasionalmente algunos elementos del menú funcionan bien. Más bien golpear y perder. Es una gran oportunidad hoy en día, con un interés creciente en la comida del sur de la India. No estoy seguro de que puedan subir a la cima en esta área. El servicio no es muy intuitivo, excepto cuando el jefe se encarga de dar una mano. ¡La mejor de las suertes! !
