Indian Brewery Snowhill in Birmingham

I had high hopes for this place, but sadly it didn't quite hit the mark. The food was OK, but very hot, which fair enough it's Indian food, just say it's hot on the menu! Also, have some mild alternatives for people that can't tolerate the chili. The larger sounded great, but in reality it takes more like an IPA and had way to much gas. It was all a fairly high price, so expected better. I think they were aiming to be hipster, but just missed it and ended up being a bit of a flop to be honest. Could have been so much better though

Unbelievable place, very busy however staff polite and efficient. Met the boss man very down to earth and congenial.

Absolutely fantastic place, great Atmosphere, massive screen showing live games, great choice of beers, largers and cider. If you’re going to eat, I would totally recommend booking a table in advance, and you won’t be disappointed !!!! My only complaint is the food is too good !!! You definitely won’t be disappointed !! Very reasonable prices, I Love this place !!!

I've long wanted to visit Indian Brewery. Their branding is really cool and although desi pubs aren't anything new, having their own beers and ales on tap is something a little different, so I was excited to try. However the entire experience was really poor. It was fairly quiet when we visited on a Sunday, yet it took over an hour and a half for our mixed grill to arrive, after chasing the waitress a few times and without any apology. It arrived without cutlery so had to wait another 5 minutes for that. When we did tuck in, what we ate was bland and very underwhelming. The only saving grace are the beers we drank. My recommendation would be to skip this entirely and visit the many other desi pubs around Birmingham, where you'll have food miles better than that of Indian Brewery.

Always such a friendly welcome at Indian Brewery. Been coming here for a couple of years and it’s always amazing-food, beer and cocktails!

Had the mixed grill it was smelly everything smell like cheese or gone off lamb chops were burnt not chared the masala chips was just a dusting of powder I told them it was rubbish they took no notice and they use the cheap cuts of meat for there chicken tikka thigh bits not breast i wish I took photos but I was fuming spent £41

Very disappointed. Only chicken or fish to choose and plain rice. Small portions and too basic. Very costly whereby I won't ever attend again or recommend! I had to go to Greggs after to fill up. Perhaps I should have gone to Greggs in the first place! Daylight robbery! I should have stuck to my first impressions. What a dowdy place!

Tasty Indian food in a nice setting! Friendly staff who were attentive without being too much. We went on a Sunday evening and it was pretty quiet. Tried the Pekok lager and blue magic mocktail which was very tasty. For food we ordered the pakora pops to share which are definitely not pops, they are massive and really tasty! I had the big plant faat naan which was lots of food for £11.45. Quite spicy but really flavoursome. My partner had the Indian fish and chips which he really enjoyed and decent portion size! Would have loved a dessert but we were too full. Will definitely return when we’re back in Birmingham!

amazing food. beer options very limited though. they had nothing available as shown on all their posters and bar menu... despite it being a brewery! food was great, service decent, but toilets were disgusting.. I've seen better on the last train from London. they need to get their beer availability sorted and clean the toilets!

We were there Saturday for my daughters birthday. I can honestly say we were very very disappointed... Apart from not being the biggest portions for £25 the chicken was very under cooked and very pink inside. The chops on the top looked to die for but needed a lot more cooking as again was very undercooked and very chewy for this reason. Shame really as we looked forward to it so so much... We should have really complained as we spent £150, but we was booked in the escape room after and didn't have the time to send food back.

Just waited 20 minutes to get served at the bar and there were only 2 people in front of me. Very inefficient bar and service. Beer so lively it took another 10 minutes to pour my pint and the glass was still not full. Beer poor quality. I will not return.

I had high hopes for Indian Brewery in Birmingham, but overall, it was a mixed experience. The food lacked the bold flavors you’d expect from authentic Indian street food—it felt quite bland. On the plus side, the drinks were generously poured, the staff were polite, and the music was great, really creating a lively vibe for the place. However, what really put me off was the seating arrangement. Despite the downstairs area being mostly empty, we were sent upstairs and then told they wouldn’t take our order from there, which felt unnecessary and inconvenient. The layout also felt a bit strange, with an office space overlooking diners—it gave off a “Big Brother” kind of vibe, which was uncomfortable. I’d recommend coming here for drinks, as the atmosphere is enjoyable, but I wouldn’t return for the food. There are much better places in Birmingham for authentic Indian street food.

** DONT GO HERE *** I stay 2 roads away from this place, NEVER TO COME BACK HERE AGAIN! Extremely expensive + horrible attitude and ego + they can't afford to have a box / parcel box for take-away, wow what a disgraceful place to run, you guys are disgracing the name of India !!! Change your name !!!

Service was okay I think due to how busy it was. Food was nice and portion sizes were good. Would recommend the butter masala fries.

Indian Brewery, but strictly recommended for non-Indian people. Ambience was Desi but food was sweet or mostly bland.

Amazing little spot in Birmingham, we booked on a Saturday and glad we did as it got busy really quickly. The service was friendly and helpful but a little slow. The food was so tasty! The fat naans were fluffy and super flavourful, good portion sizes and great variety of choice for dietary requirements. The staff also were really accommodating to when we asked for a change to be made to a dish to make it dairy free. The downsides: food did come served on paper which quickly dissolved and made finishing off the lovely food quite challenging at times. Our party also bit into a few unwanted items, a few bay leaves is fine but one friend had a whole clove in their food and another had a whole cardamom pod. Both are easily picked out but were discovered too late whilst eating a wrapped naan. The beers were all great too, we ordered a few of the ones brewed by this company and they were all very tasty. I would definitely visit again if I were in Birmingham.

El lugar era vasto, y estuvo bien algún tiempo para elegir, pero lo que teníamos era. Increíble Tomé un pan Nann con un pollo tikia parando y también fui por la mitad y la mitad con un pollo de mantequilla Tengo que decir que volveré de nuevo, ya que los sabores y texturas eran tan agradables y el uso de hierbas era maravilloso. Qué placer absoluto. La especia es picante y la cerveza fluye. El chile paneer fat naan era increíble y la salsa era rica, casi melaza como . Masala Chips con salsa de curry era perfecto. El servicio era bueno y amable. El tamaño de la porción era generoso. Lo recomiendo. Es la mejor comida india que he comido.

Encontré este lugar en línea mientras planeaba mi viaje a Birmingham. Cerveza artesanal, comida callejera india y solo un par de minutos a pie de donde me alojaba. Las fotos de la comida se veían muy bien, así que era una decisión para echar un vistazo. ¿Te ha decepcionado? ¡Absolutamente NO! Buen ambiente, personal amable, buena elección de cervezas en el grifo y la comida - WOW. Tuve los chupitos de yogur y uno de los famosos naans planos y ambos eran increíbles, frescos y rehogados de sabor. En general fue tan bueno que solo tuve que volver a visitar la noche siguiente. Muy recomendable y bien hecho a todo el equipo!

Handy place for food close to Snow Hill station, main meals are around £18, plenty if beer available to wash the food down.

I had a great night out with a friend and The Indian Brewery was the perfect place to have it. Lovely food and drink with exceptional service too. Definitely recommend to others and come back again.

The lady manager was extremely rude. The spicy chill paneer was not spicy at all. When asked about about the ingredients in the dish the manager started arguing and reading the menu back to me again and again. I know to read. The staff was not sure about what was in the food and it tasted really bad. Also, when I enquired the manager assumed that I am asking for some extra food. I was just was curious and did not want anything else but information on my food. I don't recommend the service at all. All the staff kept giving out table weird looks. We are paying the money and they should provide good service to us. Felt they were a bit racist as well.

Great Beer and fabulous food several different dishes to usual Indian restaurant, e.g. Cod bites with curry sauce starter, topped nan breads.

Visitamos el nuevo edificio en la calle Mary y se veía muy bien. Gran unidad, un montón de baños muy limpios, pantalla enorme para ver el deporte. Sin embargo, el edificio estaba tan frío que tuvimos que mantener todos nuestros abrigos puestos y eso significaba que no nos sentía cómodo habernos quedado y tomar unas copas. Parte del servicio era encantador, pero otro miembro del personal no era muy servicial. La comida podría estar bien, pero no hay calificaciones de especias en el menú, así que pedimos lo que sonaba bien, pero no se puede cubrir con salsa de curry muy picante e hicimos que la pizza no fuera comestible. Apenas había pollo en absoluto en la pizza también, que era £ 16 por lo que se sentía muy apretado y caro. Incluso las papas masala estaban demasiado calientes para comer tristemente. Parece que mucha gente ha dicho cosas muy similares tan tristes que los propietarios no se han dado cuenta. Potencialmente volvería por una bebida, pero no por comida tristemente.

I came in for dinner on a Saturday evening with ex-work colleagues. Although we booked a table when we arrived we had to wait a while until they could find us a table. Once we were seated, the vibe is really nice, urban, and crafty with nods to India. After we were seated, they took our drinks order promptly while we decided on the food. The drinks came out for everyone in our party except for one person. We had to wait another five minutes until their drink arrived. On a positive note, the cocktails were very strong and didn’t just taste like sugar with watered down alcohol. The menu is extensive, with a wide range of options. A few members of our party can’t handle overly hot food. So when we asked the waiter what the pink sauce was, he couldn’t really answer us. We asked if it was spicy and he told us no. That was a lie, it was chilli sauce, so it was super-hot and inedible. On the plus side, the food did come out relatively quickly. As far as I could see there were only three toilet cubicles in the restaurant, and this was including a disabled toilet. There was quite a long queue at one point, and with someone who has an extremely small bladder, it was a struggle to have to wait that long. Overall, I wouldn’t come back again, as the service was a big letdown, the toilet situation was horrendous and I wasn’t overly impressed by the food. Maybe they should have labels stating how hot each dish is?

Very very slow service if you want food. We tried to order food at the bar and were told we needed to wait for a waitress to come to our table. Didn't happen for over an hour

Reserved a table, wasn't seated for at least 15 minutes after arriving despite the reservation process telling us to arrive promptly or be fined. We were told to have a drink at the bar while waiting to be seated, but then nobody at the bar approached us to serve us and it was difficult to catch their attention. Eventually seated and thankfully able to order immediately. Water not provided for the table and needed to be asked for twice. Food eventually came, it tastes nice, happy with it. It's served on thin paper on plates which all spin if we don't hold them in place. The thin paper very easily comes with food on our forks, leading to less than delicious grease proof paper in the mouth, until we decide to pull it all out from underneath the food. Yes it was busy, but service was slow and poor. Menus would benefit from having heat ratings on the dishes for people who aren't great with spice. The whole place was very cold, despite being at near capacity for body heat. Wouldn't go again.

I went here with my mum who came to visit me from India. We both LOVED the place. Shoutout to Radha, who made our experience even better by delivering exceptional customer service! Would definitely visit again!!!

Went here first time for a works do. A large open plan place with a mixture of decor appertaining to be an Indian Street Market. Food is modern and unique take on Indian food but what I had I felt oddly underwhelmed by..HOWEVER I will go back to try the other vegetarian dishes

This is my second time visiting, we had a table booked for 12pm on a Sunday which I did not realise was opening time, When we arrived it was totally empty and we could sit anywhere. The restaurant did gradually fill up by around 2pm. For starters the fish bites were a big hit howver the lamb chops came out very burnt and we had to send them back. For mains the chicken Fat nan was a stand out. Service here was very good.

Kitchen closed at 8:30 on a Thursday in spite of the advertised hours. Ruined our night. Not a serious place!

Seems to have gone right downhill since we last visited. Tasty food but disappointingly limited menu and a distinct lack of beer choice for a brewery. Only 3/8 draft beers were available and it took over 30 minutes to get a drink and what was a fairly quiet night. Absolutely zero fish options available from the menu which was really disappointing as the Indian Fish and chips was the reason we went. No warning of the limited options when we were seated and we were so hungry after waiting nearly an hour to get food ordered and served we stayed. Very drafty near the windows so make sure you have a thick coat too. Waiting staff not very attentive and seemed quite expensive at nearly £120 for four people.

I’d forgotten just how much of a gem this place is. The fat naans are out of this world, however I think I’ve just discovered my new favourite side, masala butter fries!! Wow! Can’t wait to visit the new premises!

Delicious 💖 initially we tried fish and chips and had to eat outside in the train station 🤣 because it was packed in side (saturday). Had to come back the next day to try everything. Totally worth it please get the platter, mixed grill and fish and chips 🤤🤤 the chai was made there too and was a nice balance after a heavy meal ！

Very disappointed, told my party had tendered an old 20 note. No one in our party had but staff were insistent that we had without any actual proof. Very disappointed, Buyer beware. Won't be back after this experience.

Such a shame that a lovely evening out was spoilt at the end. Food and drink was great. Service and atmosphere good. But the whole experience was spoilt when it came to pay. Party of 5, two payed by card, three with cash. A couple of minutes later a member of staff returned to the table saying that an old style £20.00 note had been used. The notes had been counted at the table by the server. Those who paid cash had been to cash points before the meal and still had new notes. We have been friends from school and known each other 50 years plus. Horrible to say but we all felt we were being had over.

This was my first visit but it definitely won’t be my last. Fantastic welcome followed by some of the best Indian food I’ve ever eaten. The beer is exercent too. Popped into the new taproom before coming here for food. Both are exceptional 👏

Popped in for a few beers and lunch. They didn’t have one of their own beers available which was a shame but the food was reasonably priced and good size serving. The beers were very tasty and worth a visit

The food came out quickly and was tasty. The staff behind the bar were a little clueless. The Indian posters on the wall were fabulous.

The ambience in this restaurant is lovely. The Chaa was beautiful, especially on a cold day! Service was great. Food taste was average in my opinion - looked better than it tasted.

We went for some food and a drink, but unfortunately it was fully booked so we stayed for a drink. The atmosphere was buzzing and the food looked and smelled amazing. Hopefully we will be able to get a table next time. EDIT: Food is brilliant, and extremely good value for money.

We ate at the Indian Brewery on a wed evening, it was quiet which is the only reason I didn't give it 5. The decor sets the scene for Indian street food and it really does deliver on the promises of such a cool setting. The staff were pleasant and friendly, the menu was intriguing, the food was very well presented and tasted as good as it looked. It's fabulous, I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The beer is fresh from it's own brewery and the staff took pride in putting a perfect pint. The 2 for 1 cocktails went down well with half of our party of 4. We ordered too much food between us and begrudgingly had to leave some of the fries. But 4 of us ate like kings, had 2 x pints, 4 X cocktails and more food than we could eat and it was still less than £25 each. Don't pass this place, it deserves your custom.

Amazing food and fairly easy to locate. Loved the Butter chicken and all in all a very affordable meal. The range of choice was almost daunting but great to see and the selection of drinks was perfect. Can't wait to go back

Great vibe. Being Indian, I can can this food is very authentic. The aubergine vegetable curry is the best. Butter chicken was also great, but i prefer my chicken in chunks and not shredded. Don't quite get the 'fat naan' hype, the naans aren't really fat, but nevertheless a great place to eat. They also have lots of different beers, I'm not a beer drinker, so didn't try.

Ich habe letzten Sonntag ein indisches Restaurant in der Innenstadt gesucht. Auf Empfehlung eines Polizisten bin ich hier gelandet. Eigentlich wollte ich noch ein indisches Curry auf meinem wochenendtrip bin dann aber bei den Naans gelandet. Erst ein gemischtes und dann noch eins aus Föllerei, weil es einfach so lecker war! Dazu ein Bombay honey ( hatte ich erst etwas bedenken, war aber super). On top ein witziger laden und super freundliche Bedienung. Ic würde dort immer wieder hingehen und noch die vielen anderen Sachen probieren wollen . Kann ich nur bestens empfehlen

We popped in for a quick drink on a Sunday afternoon. Limited selection available on tap. Even some of their own beers were missing. Those that were available were underwhelming at best. The "creamy stout" they advertise is actually just camden stout - false advertising? . Not worth a visit for the beer.
