The best restaurants serving Indian food in Bristol, City of South West

Arrived to a zero welcome (despite booking). Glacial service to deliver menus to table. Then ignored for 20mins. Had to chase server to place drinks order. Only two of the four drinks arrived. Finally managed to flag down waiter to order food. That took 30 mins to arrive. When it did every dish was poor, watery, without flavour and zero skill or attention to detail displayed by the kitchen. It made frozen ready meal curry look good. It really was shockingly poor. We even had to chase the bill. This contained a raft of errors, including the two drinks that never arrived, naan breads and two sides we never ordered. When I asked for those to be deleted from our bill, the waiter had a melt down. He clearly does understand the concept of customer service or hospitality. In one word, "avoid".

We ordered a chicken tikka masala but asked that the chicken be plain instead of tikka and instead they sent just the masala sauce and still charged full price. We rang to complain and were told they would send the masala again but with plain chicken and it would be with us in 40 mins....90 mins later we rang again to be told that we wouldn't be receiving the masala as by saying we didn't want tikka then there was no option to have plain chicken. They refused a refund and were verbally aggressive. The rest of the order was stone cold on delivery and the onion bahjis were soggy and had a rancid smell....avoid at all costs. This takeaway needs a visit from the food health and standards agency.

I just had the Veg Thali, and it was fantastic! Each dish was bursting with flavor, reminiscent of home-cooked meals. The variety in the thali offered a delightful mix of textures and tastes, making it a truly satisfying experience. Finally the owner so kind and servie just amazing. I can't wait to enjoy it again!

Could not tell Naan breads apart without ripping it apart and eating some. No clear writing on the outside. Very mediocre curry's.

Very good selection of food..could have a look on dessert section a bit..all the other cuisines like Italian, Asian, Indian are all of good choice..price range also good..service was also good..

Not had a curry from Mother India for some time but has not changed. As good as ever

A fantastic Indian restaurant! Staff polite, friendly and helpful! Food amazing! As someone who has visited India many times for work and having served on Indian crewed vessels transitting the Indian Ocean region I experienced authentic Indian food. This restaurant is amazing, genuinely flavoursome, good portions. Unlike many so called Indian restaurants this one is genuinely Indian! Highly recommend you visit and enjoy the food and atmosphere!

Estaba visitando a un amigo en Bristol a quien no había visto en años. Obviamente, conoce los mejores lugares para comer en los alrededores y sabe cuál es mi preferencia por la comida exótica. Así que terminamos aquí. El lugar no es perfecto. No tiene licencia, y mi compañero tuvo que devolver su plato, que se volvió a lavar rápidamente. Pedí el cordero Rogan Josh con arroz frito con champiñones (se ofrecen varios sabores de arroz diferentes, todos al mismo precio). El lugar estaba vacío, por lo que el servicio fue rápido. You can not eat in its a takeaway I've used this place for 30yrs never had a problem food good and plenty of it the only curry place I will use

1/5 I waited 2 hours to be served a wet sloppy curry with not texture or flavour. The waiter spoke little English and tried to make us pay for tap water. Such a disappointing experience and I will be reporting its service to the curry police.

The nest Indian takeaway in bristol so delicious and friendly staff. Would hugly recommend. The bhajis are the best . Delicious

Ordered Indian delivery online, they took payment and advised it would be with me within 50 mins. An hour later I called as no delivery turned up and was advised it would be with me shortly. Another half hour went by so called again and was told they no longer do Indian takeaway it’s just Thai food!!! Nothing stating this on the website! Still took my money…..stay away!

Revived wrong order then got told we would get the correct order sent out. After waiting another hours called the shop to be told they were not sending are food. And I would have to contact just eat for a refund. Do not recommend
