Had the lamb korma and have been on the toilet for 3 days now. Pray for me. In all seriousness though, avoid this place if you value bowel movements that you can trust.

The staff and manager are nice in resolving issue. However, I can’t eat the spicy poppadom cause it clearly burnt… I also enjoyed their Prawn Biryani.

Ordered from these guys on Uber eats who hilariously have a 4.5 rating. Food arrived, I immediately noticed how poor the quality was in general, the naan was stale, at least 1/2 days old. My curry was covered in oil and had no taste but mostly I noticed that the chicken was dry and had clearly been reheated. I took two bites and decided to not risk the rest as something was not right. My partner who ate all of his quickly started to feel very unwell about 1 hour later then I got physically very sick 5/6 hours later- it has been 36 hours of hell. Just dealt with the worst food poisoning I have ever had in my life. Please do not eat here or even risk it, the food not only tasted diabolical but is dangerous, the people here clearly have no care of regard for their customers I can only hope EHO flag something at their next inspection.

I've been getting curry from here almost every week for the past 2 years and it's always really good. Sometimes the chips aren't that good but I can forgive it since I enjoy the curry so much.

I had food delivered from just eat and it came warm but I ordered chicken tikka masala and trust me when I say I have tried this dish for on various places in the uk and it tastes same some better but some worse. But this one was some next level worse tikka masala I have ever tried in my life, it doesn’t even taste like any curry I don’t know how they’ve made it, it’s tooo tomatoey and doesn’t taste like anything. I requested refund but they still haven’t contacted me yet. It costed £16 for curry and some hard meatless pieces of kebab. Absolutely disgusting.

I don’t know what else to say except that it was just an amazing curry! Just tasted brilliant and was presented great, good service, amazing food and massive portions. Can’t really ask for more!

Ordered a meal and the order came correct and on time so I’ll give them that. However the chicken in the korma was very dry and was the same on a previous order, but gave them the benefit of the doubt. Onion bahjis tasted nothing like how they should. For the price you could get better elsewhere.

We used this restaurant for food delivery and unfortunately it took 90 mins to deliver, the good was cold and they forgot some of the order. It's a shame because the food is good. Would recommend eating in restaurant or collecting food.

Very bad food. Had the chicken tikka madras, kashi chops starter and garlic rice meal deal. It was awful. Actually gave me severe food poisoning due to a poultry issue. that I'm now on antibiotics for. Such a shame as this was my go to place never again!!

We have been a regular ordering from this restaurant for 3-4 years however the service recently has been well below what we have had in the past. Made an order to include a tandoori mixed grill and was sent a starter platter, called to explain it was wrong and told next order they would correct free of charge, next order tandoori mixed grill was missed from order again Called again and they offered to give two free meal deals next order, have ordered those today and just like the first order I was sent a starter platter and no tandoori mixed grill, and even though when I called to order I explained that this would be the two free meals as promised last time the drive wanted me to pay, the driver then walked away and came back again saying I hadn't said I was using the two free meals when i ordered. When I said to the driver to just take all the food back as they still hadn't got the order correct he explained that sending a starter platter in the place of the mixed grill is always happening. Won't be using again

Firstly chicken chaat was good and the jalfrezi too, but onion bajis were stone dry and with our order there was a missing keema rice,cheese+garlic naan and coke can. Then after when we called saying could we replace them and explaining the food quality they sent us a replacement keema rice that tasted awful and onion bajis that were just as dry as they were initially so no point in replacing them and to top it off still missing a cheese+garlic naan that never arrived at all on either trips out. Would not recommend ordering from here, poor service and bad quality food. Still got the coke can and free salad bag so that's something.

Ordered at 22:40 last night on Just Eat Website. At 23:05 we got the notification to say our meal was on it's way but it never arrived and that was the last update we received. Spoke to the owner just now who lied saying that it was showing as delivered. If it had been marked as delivered we would have recieved two emails from Just Eat asking how the food was etc. A mistake is one thing, decieving customers is quite another. Went to bed hungry last night and will be seething tonight. What a shambles!

I have used this place for almost 4 years but sadly it's quality seems to have diminished over recent months. I have just had Chicken Tika Massala and it was quite honestly awful. Nothing like Massala at all. It was basically a Chicken Korma. Pinkish, full of coconut and pretty flavourless. The Keema rice looked & tasted like it had come out of an Uncle Ben's microwavable sachet. Very unimpressed. Will not use again.

Like someone else said, food arrived really quickly (too quickly). Fish tikka starter was raw and inedible, went straight in the bin. Lamb was really chewy. Daal was watery. Gross!

I use this restaurant regularly. I would say that the lamb dishes are variable, in that, sometimes I've ordered a lamb dish and it has been beautiful and tender. Other times, it's been more like mutton than lamb - there is a difference! Chicken has always been well-cooked and plenty of meat in each dish ordered. Sometimes would like a bit more sauce to accompany the meat but glad that the meat content is generous. Just please use 'lamb' if you advertise it rather than 'mutton', which is chewy and tough.

My first choice place to go to for a takeaway - great value and absolutely delicious curry every time. Spicy rice that is actually spicy, delicious Ceylon curry (my favourite) and gave extra poppadoms & samosas on last order. ♥️♥️♥️

If I could give them 0 but there is not option. We had a home renovation didn’t have a kitchen at home my pregnant wife was hungry she was fancy an Indian food we we order our food from here we had a confirmation the take the money online.We ordered the at 10:30 and wait until 12:30 midnight and our food never arrived, it was one of the worst experience I’ve ever had in my life shame on this restaurant shame on their servers.

Spice Express has been me and my extended families first choice for the past 20 years. They will deliver too. Located on Church Rd, Redfield, opposite St. George Park. Prices are also very reasonable.

Excellent Indian takeaway, does delivery and meal deals so not pricey but value for money I had onion bargee, prawn celyon and pillah rice for a tenner and the Ceylon was absolutely spot on

I never usually write reviews, but feel its important to warn others - I got compalorbacter food poisoning from here two weeks ago. We never buy meat to prep ourselves - I know 100% it was here, as the chicken curry was raw on one mouth full I was swallowing it as I realised! The next day the vomiting and diarrheoa started. I've been so so poorly and been to the docs x3 times now. I haven't worked and have cancelled my 40th birthday plans. Looking at the other reviews i wish I had not ordered from here. BEWARE - DON'T ORDER THE CHICKEN IF YOU DECIDE TO USE THESE GUYS!

Food was late and on arrival was all cold. Took over 1.5h to arrive, food quality as commented below weren’t great. The curry was too hot (in taste not temperature) without any real flavours (similar to how some of the other comments here). Wish I read the google reviews before placing my order. Would not order again. Chased the restaurant twice but order still came late, can’t explain the 45min it took to do the 17min distance.

Have been using this takeaway in one guise or other since moving back to Bristol in 1986. Recently it has gone right track. Ordered 2 curries @ 18:25 on May 4th, bit expensive but delivered quickly. (Order No. #13981214) What a disappointment! My garlic chicken tikka balti curry tasted burned, was way over spiced (and I do like a hot & spicy curry!) and was full of raw garlic cloves. The rice was cold and wet and the starter could have been made from wet newspapers. Mrs D’s Dansak was equally dreadful. Sorry to say but we’re going to have to go elsewhere in the future

Wish I could give zero stars. This was hands down the worst takeaway I've ever had. I ordered through Uber Eats. It wasn't particularly cheap, took ages to arrive and was such poor quality I only ended up eating a couple of mouthfuls from each dish. ANY POSITIVE REVIEWS MUST BE FAKE. Cheese naan had lumps of raw cheese cubes in. Lamb curry the meat was grey and so chewy that it wasn't edible. Onion baji dry and hard (samosa the same). Veg korma full of canned veg and watery. So, so bad. What a total waste of money. One positive thing is that the man on the phone was friendly enough when I called to say that my order still hadn't showed up.

Every shortcut you can make in cooking is what this place does. And i'm amazed to read the 5 star reviews, because its just rubbish. Bland uninspired goop, cooked by people that don't have a clue, then clearly blasted in a microwave and served. If you read this before ordering here forget it, these 5 stars reviews must be fake. Don't waste your money.

Absolutely horrendous. Cold startes which they forgot. The food was so spicy with chilli pepper you could not taste the meats or the other spices. One Dish tasted the same as the other. Never Again.

Waste of money.... Paying lot when order online. 1st day was food burnt, 2nd day food wad blond even I requested spicy. 3rd day I mentioned these issues. But still they never look my request. £100 waste in my last 3 orders just for myself as a single man. Always they sent a complement items which I really don't want.

We regularly use The Spice Express as the food is well cooked, tasty and are in good portion sizes. Delivery speed is amazing - ordered today at 18:05 and the food was delivered by 18:25. Unfortunately we pre-ordered for 19:15 so will have to re-heat the food when my partner gets home. Definitely recommend but just don't bother with the pre-order choice - just order when you want it.

This was the first time that I had ever ordered from this take away, and it will be the last! The driver was very rude and couldn’t even talk English! He was also very disrespectful. We had waited for 1hr30 minutes to be told to cancel our order and reorder and wait another 40 minutes. NO THANK YOU. DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE. AWFUL.

Ordered via Just Eat. Order arrived an hour and a half later, and was totally wrong, and stone cold. When we phoned to let them know they told us to wait while the driver brought the right order. An hour after that they still hadn't turned up! Had to go via just eat to resolve this. Absolute nightmare, would never order from them again, and having now read these reviews I wish I'd checked before!

No happy with my food as it turned up and so the driver said a dog just bitten the bag and damaged the sag aloo and I had to throw it out and the rest of it was only warm

Order was wrong and when I called up they argued with me saying that I asked for that. We asked for the receipt at the door and he wouldn’t give it to us. Confirming that they knew they messed up but delivered it anyway. Wrong curry, wrong meat. Chicken and onion bhaji wasn’t very nice and none of us ended up eating it. What a Waste of money! The reviews looked so good as well. Won’t be buying from there again

Would put no stars if I could.. food took ages to come once it came all the rices were missing and the poppadoms the curry we had looked like someone else’s left overs and the containers look like they had already been used. Rang them to ask them to come and collect the curry we had and give our money back they refused. My partner went to their shop where they still kept refusing the money baring in mind they now have their curry back. Rude unprofessional staff and service! And food by the looks of things. Now still trying to phone them and they seem to have disconnected their phone lines.

If this had been in the restaurant we would have sent it back. We had a veg balti and a veg rogan josh. The vegetables were seriously undercooked, the curries had no flavour and you could hardly tell the two apart. The mushroom pilau had some strange, likely out of tin, mushrooms that felt like rubber and had almost as little flavour as the curry. I don't enjoy leaving a bad review but it felt like a wasted £30. I do hope you review your food and make it better for the next person. Terrible.

The reviews on JustEat must be fake and paid for, as the food is really not up to scratch, some food we didn't even attempt to eat as it either looked terrible as the chicken was tough and stringy, pawns were under cooked and looked gone off, and lamb was full of fat and tough bits, then the smell really wasn't great. The family was completly put off and all of the food bar naan bread and poppadoms went in the bin!

Get value for money, I ordered the meal deal and got a curry with lamb, chicken and king pawns init, with a rice and starter for under £11, quick delivery and grear tasting food! would highly recommend

Delivery driver was rude, and could barely talk English. The chicken was bland and tasted watery! No sauce in the curry, just a few tomatoes.... Joke of a restaurant. Spent nearly £40. I’ve had better tasting microwave meals!

Read the just eat reviews and was looking forward to the dishes. I had the tandoori delight dish, all the meat was really dry and it didn’t have much sauce of a sauce (this dish comes with a tomato sauce base) Ordered a cheese nan and was sent a garlic. My wife food also had dry and over cooked meat, the sauce tasted good but doesn’t make the dish good if the meat is dry. Would I eat here again..... No and it was pretty expensive for a take away.

I have just ordered food from this place and got a delivery at home. I was served chicken which was off and stunk. When my guest was about to take their first bite they had to spit the food out as it was rancid. How can any chef cook chicken which is already past it's use by and not keep it fresh and refrigerated in this hot weather or even a hot kitchen. I am concerned that I will get food poisoning if I ever order there again. My guests were elderly so even more of a concern that I was about to feed them chicken which stale and potentially could cause them Salmonella poisoning. I contacted the restaurant who offered a refund for the one dish after an evening ruined by hoping for a decent supper. Beware of this place when ordering.

Llamé al restaurante para preguntar si podían reembolsarme y después de hablar con tres personas diferentes se me dijo groseramente que no había reembolsos, lo que me decepcionó mucho después de pagar 15 por un curry frío sin sabor. My first time for Spice Express. Had Lamb Rogan Josh, Sag Aloo and Chicken and Mushroom Makhani. Delivered on time, food was delicious and hot. Portions were more than adequate. All in all an excellent take away. We will be back !

Great food - really enjoyed the garlic chicken. Portion sizes were very generous and the waiting staff were all very friendly and attentive.

We didn't receive our full order. When we called back to ask for our missing items they asked the driver to come into our home and inspect the delivery. I was sat on my couch in my living room Nd had some stranger let himself onto my home. Unacceptable.

Amazed that anyone gives this place a good review. Really low quality ingredients, especially the meat. The lamb was grey and chewy. Grim. Also arrived far too quick - must've been microwaved. Sauces/flavours were run of the mill and boring. Will never order from there again. I guess it's very cheap... I should've known better. I think this lot are managing to cheat the Just Eat review system somehow. It's mental that they'd be top of the reviews. Makes no sense, just can't be right.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE THIEVES ON JUST EAT. We ordered a main chicken tikka masala with cauliflower (£2.00) and mixed (£2.00) sides. They added the two vegetable side dishes to the chicken curry - a whole lot of good in a house with vegetarians. They refused to accept that they advertise falsely and are ripping customers off by advertising 'extras'. Just Eat were great but don't deal with these rip-off artists and thieves. We essentially paid £18.00 for a chicken tikka masala, plain rice and a naan. Absolutely furious.

I have never seen someone using potato and lettuce as majour portion in a vegetable biriyani. They just mix rice and vegetable curry and heat it and dry it to make a biriyani. Very pathetic. I can cook better that Spice Express Chefs. Never again and its better to stay away feom Spice Express. Wants to give Zero Star. Abysmal

Nos ofrecieron 4 de alrededor de £45 y encontramos el tamaño de las porciones muy generosas. La entrega fue en tiempo y amable. El pan, después de haber viajado un poco pasada como la cebolla bajis, a 2 minutos en un horno caliente le hubiera animó. La más notable para mí era el cordero al vindaloo. Cordero. muy tiernas, deliciosas especias y perfecta de calor. A Tarka dual y baji Bhindhi también era genial. Pollo Tikka masala era demasiado dulces y demasiado coco sin embargo

Pedimos a comer solo y la comida llegó super rápido, que nos impresionó sobre porque era a las 7 pm en una noche de sábado, lo que me imagino que quieres pedir hora punta! La comida era deliciosa. Tuve el Bhuna y mi madre tenía el Jalfrezi, ambos estaban deliciosos. Incluso nos dieron un Tango y Pepsi! Estoy definitivamente volveré y lo recomiendo.
