Ordered this as was staying in Bristol for the night for father's day and this was a "treat". The tandoori chicken starter for £3.99 was crucified and the size of a chicken wing. Chicken tikka main had 6 pieces of chicken in it but my daughter said the sauce and chicken were nice. My chicken pathia was a nice hotness and lots of chicken but it wasn't nice chicken it wasn't tender if was quite hard. The pilau rice was clumpy and no better than boiled rice. The delivery was half hour late even though we ordered two hours before we stated the time we would like it and the driver said he had been trying to call me but I had no missed calls. The chips were therefore cold but I wouldn't have had them anyway as there was not nearly enough for two people and they were fries that didn't look very nice so got thrown away. The pathia sauce was also full of onion whereas normally it's a smooth paste curry. Wouldn't go again.

Ordered here quite late, 30 minutes before they close and they still accepted which was really kind. I ordered the mix kebab starter, chilli garlic chicken tikka masala, pilau rice and garlic naan. There were a couple of fatty/hard bits in the lamb of the mixed starter and I personally would've preferred the naan a bit more crispy but it was a really tasty curry and I enjoyed it a lot. Very friendly guy serving and I think it was really nice of them to accept my order near to closing time. Definitely recommend.

Popadoms were stale off out of date Rice was old and all stuck together like mash Kebabs starters was not cooked in the middle served like flat pancakes Dips were like water Chicken tikka masala was like tomato water Vindaloo chicken texture was horrible very low grade chicken and sauce just tasted of heat but no flavour Spent over £50 and wished I just made some chips it was a real waste of money and all the family flung it in the bin we felt truly violated DO NOT EAT THERE !!!! Also we also ordered chips and they was even old and re/fryed Not one thing was fresh !!! We are very disappointed as we all are now hungry and need to go and buy something else !!! We tryed to call the shop and tell the manager whom didn’t have nothing to say in there defence not even a refund of apologies Our whole experience of spice cafe was disgusting from start to finish I highly do not recommend Many thanks

Stopped in here last night with my lady for a meal and as per usual it was fantastic. Ive been to many Indians in my time but this seems to be mine and my partners favourite. For the life of us we just can’t understand how this place isn’t packed. We don’t get it ???? Food is second to none and so is the service. Reading some of the reviews for this place have made me laugh tbh because either it’s a issue with the delivery companies which are the thing at the mo or quite clearly porkies are being told like we all know, it does happen in this industry. I recommend anyone who enjoys Indian food to try this place and you certainly won’t be disappointed. Excellent prices and also you can take your own drinks. Good times.

Discusting service ordered for delivery ordered at 4.30 didn’t turn up till 6.15 kept ringing them they kept saying 10 mins still no ordered food finally arrives after 1hr and 45 mins and was cold cafe spice customer service was disgusting on phone as he was just trying to get me off the phone

We used to go to this restaurant a lot, but now it is a ( takeaway ???) Put some lights on, perhaps Indian music in the background and my wife and will come back.

They cancelled 2 orders and did not let me know , I waited 2 hours. This was October 8th - I have still not had my money returned . Despite promises . I will be visiting this terrible restaurant in the week get my money back. -

Seeing so many bad reviews is such a shame for a small business! I decided to try for myself tonight and we were extremely impressed! Food arrived on time and tasted absolutely yummy! The chicken was SO tender! Can’t complain at all and their price will not be beaten in the area :)

We have ordered food on 16th September 2022. Food delivered bit late after making several calls. The Bombay chicken curry was awful with unnecessarily added hot chilly powder. Bad experience and never again from this restaurant

Great food but unfortunately delivery is shocking and gets worse every time we order, food was 15 minutes away 45 minutes ago **took them a year to acknowledge my complaint this was a delivery not in the shop, in the end it took over 2 hours for the food to arrive cold and had leaked in the bottom of the bag and wasn't edible

Quite literally the most awful customer service I've received in years. Their website stated that the order was not accepted as the restaurant was "On holiday". It showed that the order was cancelled. We then placed an order elsewhere. Despite this issue, the food arrived - and the owner refused to accept a return or refund. Your website does not function correctly and you blame the customer? Absolutely atrocious behaviour. Was incredibly rude on phone and would not listen to a word I said about the issue with their website. Would not recommend, what-so-ever. To top it off, the food was sub-par. The owner of this establishment needs to climb in to a bin. - Regarding your response: Do you honestly think I believe that you would have recorded information from a complaint that's two years old? Hopefully your website is fixed by now and not charging people for orders while stating your establishment is closed. No intention to return. First impressions count.

Booked it on just eat for 7pm. No sign of the delivery at 7.30 rang no answer but left a message,arrived 7.40, no apology Food was hot and tasty ,what a shame it was late!

Please do not order from this restaurant. I placed an order on Uber eats (and the restaurant uses their own driver). The delivery driver delivered it to another address. When I contacted the restaurant, the person answering was very rude and just said 'its been delivered, not my problem' and hung up. Absolutely disgusting customer service. I am attempting to get a refund from Uber.

I ordered my food at 6pm was advised it would be here by 7. It didn’t come until 8. I rang the restaurant and was told the driver would be two minutes away then they’d hang up every time. When the food arrived it had been in the bag for so long the poppodoms were soft and soggy. Rice was cold. Chips tasted like they’d been microwaved. The onion salad looks like it’s been there for days the onions are not freshly sliced it smells tank. And when I tried to discuss the time issue with the driver he told me it’s not his problem and walked off as he’s the driver. As a driver you’re supposed to have basic customer service skills. This man had none. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THIS SHAMBLES OF AN ESTABLISHMENT AGAIN THEIR FOOD AND SERVICE IS VILE!!! Waste of money. I’ve added a couple of pictures.

We ordered chicken tikka, lamb tikka, rice and bread for collection. The sauce all surge has disgusting tast , chicken and lamb so dry and could, bread was fine. We’ve spent more than £30 for a very bad quality food. Very disappointed , I don’t recommend it at all.

Got a chicken tikka madras, garlic rice, peshwari naan and a can of tango delivered. Didn’t read delivery notes so ended up going down the road in my socks to find the person that couldn’t find my flat. Got home to find I had a can of 7up (which I hate). All the food looked good. Tasted the curry and it was like a mouthful of salt. I literally couldn’t taste anything but salt. It was inedible. The rest of the food was fine so I called them and they just brushed it off and said there was nothing they could do. Not willing to just let this be the end of it, I took the curry back to the restaurant in the hope they would taste it and give me a refund. They refused to taste it (red flag) and also refused to refund my £6.95 🙄, Insisting they would just cook me another one, which I refused. I left empty handed. No curry, wrong drink, average rice and bread. Would never get anything from them ever again. Steer well clear!

Food arrived nearly 40 mins late but not very warm rang the restaurant has said they will give me a free dish next time will have to wait and see but it really puts me off ordering again if the same thing is going to happen.

Came here several years ago with my Dad and it was good hence the reason my daughter chose this for her takeaway birthday meal! Ordered off Just Eat. 4 curries, 3 completely different. All looked the same, brown. I’ve never had a brown jalfrezi before. Nan breads & pilau rice weren’t what we ordered either. Disappointing, won’t be back!

Just ordered a takeaway via uber eats, the currys were horribly sweet, my partner hates sweet food and we ordered a massala and a korma (korma expected to be sweeter) but both tasted exactly the same just like a sugar sauce no spice or flavour at all. the sag aloo was nice which was all we ate in the end! very disappointed :(

Having worked late very tired very hungry I I tried these guys for the first time. On delivery I was asked to please leave only a positive review which I thought strange off the bat. First thing I opened was my shrimp cocktail salad I was puzzled to discover that it was hot??? My mixed platter style dish was missing the mix and containd meat not even in the recipe. Before I had discovered this (I was tired, it had gone midnight and didn't foresee any further problems at that point) I called them regarding the salad. An argumentative, rude manager? Told me " No it isnt hot, prawn Salad isn't spicy" me:- "no, you're misunderstanding me I mean heat warm" he:- "yes cooked shrimp" me:- no it's a salad it's hot the lettuce has been cooked" he:- " no cooked lettuce! cooked shrimp" this went on like a long scene from Fawlty towers. He eventually conceded to understand and condescendingly explained, like I was a three year old that because during transportation they put the food inside a heated (tiffin like) delivery box that keeps food hot, and that because the prawn salad also had been placed inside sandwiched between the rest of the hot food (in effect cooking it) that the resulting prawn and lettuce stew was only to be expected. Astounded, I pointed out the obvious dangers of food poisoning with seafood . I was told I would have to order some more food and he would give me a bottle of Coke as compensation, it's value £1. Yes! absurdly he expected me to to purchase more food whilst I was complaining about the bad quality of the food I hadn't even had chance to eat yet. Exasperated I declined the insulting offer prepared to cut my losses of four or five quid. Tired, hungry and now wound up, I hung up. Fool me. I hadn't yet checked the other food. I opened what was laughingly listed under the Speciality Dish heading. The Grilled Bhuna. Expecting king prawns, chicken tikka and lamb tika as described on the menu. Two pieces of lamb. No prawns, no chicken instead were a number of gristly peices of beef. I tried to telephone again but it had now gone 12.30 and they didn't answer the phone. Having worked in restaurants in my teens I'm highly suspicious that they had taken what was possibly the last order that evening from me and simply cobbled together what bits and bobs will left in the kitchen and had attempted to disguised it as my order. Compounded by the scarcity of lamb in my 2nd dish.. The strangest bit being the delivery driver requesting a positive online review. Avoid these Jokers like the plague.

Had ordered the meal for 7pm arrived slightly after. The delivery man polite. Food hot. Unfortunately the bengal tikka chicken had a bone in it. Didnt mention in the menu. But besides that the meals were all enjoyed.

Tuesday night, first day off work for three weeks... It’s time for takeaway. Chinese? Nah pizza? Not feeling it. Indian... ceeeeemon then. Few bevvies in, food arrives. Already got high hopes but bloody bejusus this curry has blown my mind. Smells good. Looks good. Tastes good. Better than good. The dogs kahunas. Flavour party in yer mouth. Absolute flavour town; Av iiiiiiiiiit, couldn’t recommend more.

One of the best Indians we’ve ever had!! Delicious food full of flavour, cooked perfectly and was actually delivered HOT! Portion sizes were great and the delivery driver www really friendly and actually bothered to find our apartment (unlike other take aways we’ve had delivered) highly recommend and this will now be our go-to Indian from now on

My family and I ordered from here last night - and WOW! We all agreed that it was likely to be the best Indian takeaway we've ever had, even my grandad who LOVES Indian and has tried and tested quite a few restaurants. I had a lamb tikka pasandra and the lamb was not fatty at all, there was loads of meat and the sauce was absolutely delicious. Definitely going back here soon!

Careful: Shambles of a delivery driver.. called the restaurant to complain about the issues with delivery driver and complete lack of acknowledgement of notes ... as per previous notes ive seen, management dont care... food was good but delivery and customer service are bad bad bad... worth it?... you decide...

Try the Garlic Tikka Chicken, you won't be disappointed! Best to order directly over the phone (rather than Just eat), you'll get accurate times, and if you can pick up, it'll be even faster!

Food was bland and order was wrong. Customer service is shocking. Dont leave instructions they wont follow and then tell you driver didnt see them so it your fault. Would not not reccomend. More flavour in a micro meal.

The food quality is good, we have ordered from the restaurant a few time but the service and delivery is just awful. on multiple occasions we have left delivery messages and have even called the restaurant before AND after ordering food to advice them we have NHS night shift workers and to call the number provided. On each occasion the delivery driver / restaurant have ignored this request and have woken up the other members of the household by banging on windows, ringing doorbells and generally causing a commotion. As we live in a tall story building it is critical that the delivery/restaurant do not bang on windows and wake up people unnecessarily. Due to this happening time and time again we have spoken to the restaurant who didn't really seem to care. Due to this poor level of service we will not be ordering from Cafe Spice again.

Great Indian.Just found it for Takeaways during Covid 19. Excellent food and at a Great price When back to normal we will be back for a sit down. We order it and pick it up. Not happy ordered 7.21pm web site said delivered buy 8.45 yet i still dint receive my order tryed calling the restaurant over 26 times fone was off the hook got to 10.30 i call juseat as still no food not happy only put 1 star so i could a review up

The takeaway somehow managed to pack the food incorrectly resulting in leak. When I unpacked the order from the plastic outer, the inner paper bag gave way spilling the contents on to the floor. I called the restaurant and explained the situation, requesting for the spilled food to be remade. Instead of a rationale response, I was greeted with an angry and argumentative representative who said that “it wasn’t their fault that the bag broke”, “there is nothing that we can do”, “they are too busy to replace it”, “they are rushing to get orders out” (which implies that quality control measures weren’t being employed in the first place), and worst of all “that I intentionally spilled it on to the floor to get a refund” and “that I am a liar”. I offered to show them pictures of the oil that had leaked all over the paper bag or even go to their restaurant so they could see the paper bag for themselves (leak damage on only the bag’s base and inside the plastic outer suggests that the leak happened well before I received it), but they were having none of it, rudely interrupting me and then hanging up abruptly. Fortunately, I had ordered using Just Eat who were more than happy to assist in securing a refund and replacing my COVID-19 Frontline Worker NHS discount code. I find it bizarre how a business that relies on consumer satisfaction to maintain a customer base and profits treats their customers in such an abhorrent manner. I will not be ordering from this “establishment” again and will post this review on all sites that host it to inform other customers to find a better, more reputable Indian takeaway. P.S. when clearing the mess, I also found out that the Café Spice Special Biryani I ordered did not have an omelette (as the meal description suggests) but a boiled egg instead. Moreover, the king prawns were absent….so this restaurant also employs false advertising!

Rang order over the phone was told a hour may be 1 hr ten ok fine. 1hr .30 mins still waiting he said I will chase for you.1hr 45mins he turns up the curry had little meat in and very runny and cold . My husband's was the same £ 18.10p this come to . I would not give you £5 the best bit was the bread

Tonight I thought I would try somewhere new and am extremely regretting it. When my food finally arrived it was luke warm at best and the wrong order. Lamb curry's were sent instead of chicken (even though chicken was ordered) and everything was bland. When calling the restaurant about my order I eventually spoke to the owner who was very abrupt and wouldn't let me speak at all. Eventually he agreed to send me my curry with some rice as a compensation for the rest of my food being cold when it would arrive. He told me it would take 30 mins. 50 minutes later and another phone call to the restaurant asking for a refund for the bad food and service I was told I couldn't have one and I would get a free curry next time. After telling the owner multiple times that I will never order from them again he finally agreed to a refund online (I am waiting to see if this will actuall happen) my curry arrived 😱. I refused the curry and rice and asked for my refund to be processed. After speaking to the owner again, I am being refused my refund as I can not return the previously delivered food to him as it is in the bin. He then offered to refund me £10 (less than half of my order cost) and proceed to hang up on me. Terrible customer service! Avoid!

Well we waited well over hours 12 by time it came. The order was one chicken tikka starter , plial rice , one lamb balti , one chicken korma . We recieved a prawn starter, chicken tikka korma, chicken tikka balti . Rice was cooked well but tasteless . Sorry to say the food was tasteless avd probably the worst I've ever had. No flavor Baltic had no onion just sause. Very salty. One dish they send by mistake had lentils sns chicken smelt off and taste off . We disnt eat it all went in bin

We ordered a curry at 2030 on a Saturday night via just eat. I had a text saying delivery will be at 2200 Now it's 2226 and no delivery. I have called the shop 17 times with no answer or had been cut off.

Ordered at 5.45. Still hadn’t arrived by 9.30. Terrible customer service. Disorganised and when I eventually turned up, phone was off the hook and ignoring Just Eat orders. Food was cold after I had to collect it and was disappointing

Food arrived late, forgot some of our order. When I asked where and why the food wasn’t here, they said it would be with us within 10 minutes, but more like 40-45 minutes. Normally really good food and service, but been let down big time. Will not be ordering again.

From the outside, this is an unassuming Indian restaurant in West Street.Nice décor and friendly staff in comfortable surroundings.The food is first class and after forty years of eating Indian meals regularly in different parts of the country this is easily the best (or next best) visited. It is clear the chef is devoted to his cooking and takes great pride.There is an extensive menu with the usual expected prices. We made two visits in our stay of three nights in Bristol.As a bonus, this has BYO so you save on the price of drinks and can make your own choice what to bring to drink.Dont believe the bad reviews. One night, one table refused to pay. Same time, same chef same food!Full marks and highly recommended.

Le pregunté al camarero cuánto tiempo nos tomará que nos traigan nuestra comida del pedido y dijo que serán unos 30 minutos, ya que ahora han dejado de tomar pedidos para llevar a centrarse en los comensales.Pedimos nuestros entrantes y platos principales y unos 30 minutos después del pedido llegaron nuestros entrantes. Horrible recomendaría que te alejesSolo comí me emitieron un reembolso debido a que la comida llegó con 35 minutos de retraso, aunque mi curry estaba en el auto de la ruta durante 55 minutos, inevitablemente llegó un poco tibio, yo soy el tipo gordo y hambriento. para ser cocinado a un medio raro, así que espero que mañana mi trasero no explote. Sobre todo una muy mala comida. La botella de coque, sin embargo, sabía como debería, así que supongo que es una ventaja.

Este restaurante debe decidir si se trata de un restaurante o de una comida para llevar y resolver su logística. Es un BYO y al llegar tuvimos que pedir copas para nuestro vino y cerveza, varias veces. (También nos llevamos nuestro propio sacacorchos). No se proporcionaron menús y tuvimos que perseguirlos también. Rápidamente pedimos unos bhajis de cebolla, ya que alguien en otra mesa nos había dicho que habían esperado más de una hora para su plato. Todavía no hay menús, así que tuvimos que perseguir de nuevo. . . . . . . Recibimos nuestro curso principal más de dos horas después de que llegamos. Realmente necesitan organizar su logística general y servicio y si van a dar un trato preferencial a los comensales reales en el restaurante o a su servicio de comida para llevar, que parece estar dominando los eventos. La comida era normal pero el personal era amable.

Pidió una entrega a través de Just eat con un estimado de entrega en línea de 1 hora. Después de 1 1/2 horas llamé para que me dijeran que estaba siendo empaquetado y en camino. Otros 30 minutos más tarde volví a llamar y me dijeron que estaba fuera para la entrega. Cuando llegó, el conductor de la entrega se disculpó y tuvimos algunos pepinillos gratis ya que se disculparon en este punto por no haber recogido nuestro pedido. Una vez que se fue, encontramos que faltaba una de las comidas. Llamé y esto fue entregado 30 minutos más tarde, una vez que terminamos (apreciamos que tenía que ser preparado de fresco) y me dieron poppodoms gratuitos. No volvería a utilizar como servicio pobre y la comida estaba bien. Pedimos varios currys medianos y diríamos que todos eran del lado suave, ninguno muy picante.

Dined in here for an after work catch up with my adult son. Enjoyed an excellent meal, very friendly (though slightly disorganised) service and all at very reasonable cost helped by their "bring your own alcoholic drinks" policy. The restaurant itself is very tatty & grungy and is desperately in need of redecoration and new carpets etc.

Pasó y no se detuvo inicialmente ya que estaba completamente vacío (jueves alrededor de las 7). Pero en el camino de vuelta decidí intentarlo. Agradablemente sorprendido por la comida obviamente recién preparada, bien presentada y diferente de su tandoori estándar de pantano. Jalfrezi era bueno, aunque un poco blando, con excelente arroz de champiñones y un paratha bien hecho (no goteaba aceite). Sólo las cosillas eran la mala elección de los refrescos (solo latas) y la máquina de tarjetas rota. Sin duda volveremos.

Great service both eat in and takeaway. Good value and food nice and hot. Starters, Mains and Dessert choc mud cake wonderful. Only slight negative is use frozen vegetables I assume which is fine, but does taste different to fresh so knocked off a star. Its local, affordable and convenient.

We visited Cafe Spice last night and I can honestly say this was the best curry we’ve ever had! REALLY tasty food at VERY reasonable prices! The staff were very friendly too. We’ll DEFINITELY be going back both to eat in and for takeaway. Thank you guys! Nas & Shelly
