I have ordered from this take-away for over 30 years and every time its at least a 9.5 out of 10 but dont know why last nights meal for 2 was out of this world

Awful service rude staff - many items in our order were missing. Called to let Curry Kings know and was told that this never happens. Fair enough ….. but I wanted to know what could be done about it, after all I had paid for something I didn’t receive. “Nothing” was the answer unless I wanted to drive up to them and collect my missing items. So the rest of food would have gone cold and my family would have undoubtedly started to eat without me! I said I couldn’t do that and apparently that was the way it was as they had no driver to drop my items to me. The man on the phone then started to get quite rude telling me they were only human and not robots. I thought this was rude as I wasn’t being aggressive or rude in any way myself. He said everyone makes mistakes and I agreed but asked again how this could be resolved and was told next time I come in to tell them and they’ll sort it. I told him that I doubt very much I would be coming back after this and asked if they could refund me for the items I didn’t receive. The answer was no apparently because he didn’t have the brain cells to calculate this (his words not mine). When I said I would have to leave a bad review he said he didn’t care as he never looked at them anyway (I don’t think he got the point of reviews and they’re not actually for him but for potential customers). He then hung up. Very very strange indeed. So paid over £40 for missing food and terrible, weird customer service. Why not just say “sorry we will refund your missing order and here’s 10% off your next order”??

Would leave zero stars if I could. Extremely rude. Ordered a set meal for two plus extra dishes through Just Eat for collection. When we picked up and got home we were missing poppadoms, sauces and Nan bread. Phoned to tell them that we were missing items and was asked to come up and collect it. I didn’t want to do this so asked what other options there were. I was told they had no driver so could not drop off my missing items. I was also told that they were not robots but humans. I thought this was extremely rude, especially as I had been pleasant myself. I had no apology was just told that this rarely happens. I was told next time I come in to tell them and they’d sort it. This was our first visit and will certainly be our last. I said that I probably would not be returning as we rarely have take always so could I have a refund of the items we were missing. The man on the phone said he couldn’t do that as he didn’t have the brain cells to work it out. I must admit I did agree. I said it didn’t matter as I’d just leave a bad review to which he replied he didn’t care as he never looked at the review’s anyway and put the phone down. I wonder if Curry Kings respond to this review in the way they spoke to me. Hope so as it will prove how rude they are. So basically been ripped off and paid for something II will never get.

Best curry in Bristol for takeaways. Great value for money when ordering the box meals, box for 2 is easily enough food for 4 people (or 4 meals, or 2 if you're like me and don't eat anything else all day). Takeaway only.

First time customer and really impressed. Big portions, piping hot and delicious, will be ordering again!

This was a mid-week takeaway order. Firstly, it arrived 30 minutes late. My partner's dhansak was acceptable. However, my curry, rice and paratha was completely tasteless and devoid of any flavour. It was easily the most bland meal I have eaten. I threw away half of it simply because I could not be bothered to eat it - and I love curry!

Been going here for over 20 years, absolutely delicious 😋 don’t even think about going anywhere else! 10 out of 10 every time 😁 staff are super helpful and really polite! Keep up the good work!!!

Food is tasty! Saag paneer is delicious. Meal for 2 has lots of food and reasonably priced but really didn't enjoy peshwari naan, think plain or garlic might be a better option. Onion bahji was massive and yummy.

Very poor service. Called to ask where food was and was told it’ll arrive when it does. Food arrived and items were missing, called back to inform them and was told this is what happens when we’re busy and asked if I wanted to work there instead. This is the first time we’ve had poor service. Won’t be going there again.

Been about 20 years since my last visit to Curry Kings. We weren't disappointed, delivery arrived on time and food was hot. Nan and chapati bread soft and fresh. Ceylon was tasty and spicy with large chunks of tender chicken. Vegetable Dhansak was delicious and sweet.

First and last time I will ever use Curry Kings . Waited 1 hr and 15 mins for our take away , it didn't arrive so called to find out where our food was . We were told it was 5/10 mins away . Food didn't turn up for another 30 mins so called yet again to find out where our food was , was told it should be here now . Waited another 20 mins and still hasn't turned up . Will never order from these people again .

Absolutely shocking... food was bland and cold portion size was really really small best bit about the hole experience was it fit in the bin and diddnt take up much space... wouldn't order from here again should of just got in my car and went to the cinnamon tree instead as they have never let me down curry kings aload of rubbish

Absolutely superb Saag last Thursday. This had to be the best I’ve had in a very long time. Lots of different flavours. Meat was fresh and lean. Arrived hot. Have they changed chefs ? Exceptional !

We’ve been to Curry Kings in Bristol for 20+ years now & we’ve never had any reason to return or complain as the food is always amazing!! Couldn’t recommend this enough & the owners are lovely always prepared to amend or change a dish if requested. So yes highly recommended as no other takeaway we’ve even comes anywhere near close. Rich :) Ps tonight’s takeaway was delicious as per normal!!

We have a curry very regularly from curry kings. It’s always lovely however tonight’s Chicken Dhansak madras hot was absolutely amazing. It was a nice heat and really sweet which made it sooo tasty.

Read some negative reviews on here, but I have to say, each time I'm in Bristol and have ordered food from here it's been absolutely delicious. Tried other indian deliveries in the Kingswood area but this is by far the best. Chicken Ceylon, Gurt lush. 👍

Great curry!! Always on time and early sometimes. Example is I was in the pub opposite and the driver being early came in looking for me !! How he knew I was there was amazing lol

Have been using them for over 20 years. Best Indian in the area. Staff are helpful and friendly Portion sizes are good and prices are reasonable. Food is great.

Got the Murgh Masala, Keema Naan, Saag Pilau and Vegetable Samosa. We picked up and got 4 free chicken pakoras as well. Everything was delicious, and we had enough left overs for the following night! (We are both quite small people and don't eat a tonne though)

Delivery is currently 30 minutes late!(ordered over an hour ago). Took 3 attempts at ringing the restaurant before someone answered! Didn't apologise it was late and just said "it should be here soon". When pushed as to when it would arrive, the reply was probably 10 mins......very poor!

The portions were a decent size but far too many chillies for what should have been a milder dish. Fair enough if you ordered a Jalfrezi but it made the Balti too hot to be enjoyable. Please take note.

Very rude when I rang up and we were given a delivery time and 2 hours later still didnt turn up

I am a loyal customer of curry Kings and have used them for years. I placed an order at 7pm, with expected delivery being 8.30, already a hour and a half to wait. Followed by an email stating it would be another 40 minutes on top of this to wait. I then had to ring at 9.30 as our order was still not here. When i finally got through. They said its on the way, when asked if they still expect people to pay full price (our £60 order) he began to shout down the phone very aggressively blaming 1. We are in a global pandemic and 2. It is pay day weekend they have over 200 orders and they are a family run business. He continued to try to argue and shout down and say to try and pay the driver less but he will just probably bring back your food. This isn't any way to speak to a loyal customer. When I said i will be shopping elsewhere in future he put the phone down. The food was tasteless and all 4 currys were the same colour. The place has gone down hill.

I love curry kings. Its my go to for curry. Appreciate with it being lockdown it is going to be busy. What would be helpful is if the website said that delivery is not guaranteed. Originally told on website it would be 45 mins, then once order confirmed email says its going to be 40 mins late giving a time of 1929. Rang at 1943 to find out where it was to be told it is very busy and could be another 15 mins or so. If I had known that I would have collected! Going to be 2 hours or more after ordered.

Been eating their food for 20 years but the taste and quality seems to differ so much it must depend on what night you order and what chef you get I think. Last few times the sauces have been really bland, tonight my dupiaza had hardly any chicken in, and I'm fed up with being charged more than it shows on the menu. Tonight was the third and last time I was overcharged. We need to try somewhere different.

Have been using Curry Kings for years as the food was always amazing. Have made a order tonight, which is now over an hour late. Unable to speak to anyone as line is always busy. I realise how busy it must be due to everyone staying at home this New Years Eve, but. Where is our food? We are starving.

Have used Curry Kings fairly regularly for some years. Ordered a meal for delivery last night (NYE), got a notification it was delayed by 30 minutes, no problem - you expect them to be busy when everyone is at home. But then nothing. No further communication. Tried calling - over 100 times - no pick-up. Awful way to treat customers. This year has been stressful enough - to end it ravenous and without any communication is appalling way to treat customers. We didn’t know if food was coming or not. Turns out it was NOT, but only found out by waiting up til after Curry Kings has closed trading for the evening. Despicable! Curry Kings have got a LOT of bridge-building to do today to put this right! Let’s hope they get this part of their business sorted. Customer service is key to a company’s success. Curry Kings failed miserably last night. I expect a refund AND CK to iron out all the bad feeling they generated last night. Do the right thing CK - we are waiting!

it’s nearly 9:20 and still not delivered.tried to ring millions of times and goes to user busy. it’s nearly been 3 hours since i have ordered the food and no sign of update of it. i am disgusted and starving. will defonutly not be ordering from here again.

Just had our food delivered and really disappointed, my main was tasteless and watery and my husbands was clearly thrown together as they were busy. This was our favourite curry house but put off ordering from them again now. Don't keep taking orders if you chefs can't keep up.

Ordered at approximately 19:00 (7pm) was given a time of 20:03. Rang at approx 20:43 - was then advised it would be between 20-25 minutes! Arrived at approx 21:15pm. Korma was watery, fairly cold. I understand that there may be a longer wait due to how busy it is, but please don’t say it will arrive at 20:03 - then arrive over an hour later! Spent over £31! I have pics of confirmation emails if needed - food is ok, if you’re willing to wait over 2 hours

Curry kings used to be a very good place to get a curry. But the last couple of times I order from there It's been terrible. Guarenteed to be late, in these present times do not tell me I will get my tea at 8pm then say we are delayed its now 9pm. Got to now find a new takeaway as this takes the P.

I’ve been a long standing customer of 30 years and I know we are in Covid lockdown but Is it wrong for curry kings to accept a take away online order after ringing them 20 times always engaged so online the only way to order for delivery when 2 hours later they haven’t been able to fulfil your order which was due 30 minutes ago . So I call them to say when can I collect instead ? 20 minutes they say . Get there , they haven’t started the order , can’t even trace the order they say !!!! So I show them my online booking confirmation .On complaining they say they’ve had over 200 orders . Sorry Guys not acceptable

Please dont accept orders and give times you cannot deliver...we love your food and know we are in lockdown...but please be realistic with your times 🙄

We have ordered from here a lot and usually the food is very good however after tonight we won’t be ordering again, the tandoori mixed grill was so over cooked I think it was a reheat and the chicken leg was rancid, if this is the standard they are now at stay well away.

Wish I had read reviews before ordering. Took nearly 2 hours to arrive and when it did the portions were small and food bland. Found the saag paneer was nice and the naan bread For that matter. Pickle tray was the worst I have ever had. Madras was okay. Onion bahji was like a sponge soaked in oil and had no flavour what so ever. Ceylon curry taste of nothing. Poppadoms were stale. Over all it was extremely disappointing and we won’t be returning.

Since lock down they have got very busy. Unfortunately this has resulted in poor comminication their end. We used their new app which is diar and gives you no idea when your food will arrive or if your order has been successful. Shame

Excelente, no me decepcionó. El cordero bengala estaba perfectamente condimentado: un montón de carne, un gran arroz de guisantes esponjoso, peshwari súper bien relleno, buenas pakoras y los bhajis son los mejores que he probado en años, literalmente no he tenido bhajis así desde que era un niño. Mullido, sabroso y no remotamente grasiento.Solo desearía haber vivido localmente para hacer de este mi lugar habitual.

Siempre disfrutamos nuestra comida india de Curry Kings, nunca nos decepcionan. Ya sea solo una comida para uno o para un grupo grande. Los hemos estado usando durante años, los curries tienen un sabor fantástico en cuanto a las cebollas bajias ¡Guau! La comida y el servicio siempre es muy bueno.

Personal amable y comida encantadora (especialmente pollo dhansak y cordero korai) y precios muy razonables. Siempre llamamos y recogemos, ya que las entregas tardan un poco demasiado. ¡Ojalá tuvieran un restaurante para sentarse también!

The food was ok but customer service and delivery time was terrible. the website said it would take 40 mins to arrive. (Booked 7.20 pm). As soon as I paid and placed the order it then said another 30 mins arrive 8.38pm. We thought that was bad enough but after 2 calls with an unfriendly guy just telling us they were busy and they don't like delivering, it finally arrived at 9.35pm! 2hrs 15 mins after ordering! By then we had gone past hunger. If they dont like delivering why offer it?

Fantastic!!! (Coming from someone who has tried most curry houses in Bristol) I would recommend the Chicken Pathia. I found this place when I lived in the area 8 years ago, I still regularly travel 45 mins round trip as I can’t find a curry like it anywhere else, Believe me when I say you will not be dissatisfied!

Food was all good except my Naga dish clearly had no Naga chilli in, only thin greens similar to a jalfrezi, which is a bit naughty innit.

He estado usando Curry Kings durante años. Es sin duda el mejor curry de Bristol. El menú es variado y tiene algunos platos fantásticos. En particular el Bombay Chicken & Lamb Balti. El servicio, la calidad de la carne y el servicio de entrega a domicilio son siempre fantásticos. Recientemente tuvimos una gran reunión familiar y pedimos la mitad del menú. Todo fue excelente y todo llegó puntualmente y caliente. 5 estrellas ! !

Visité hace poco y casi lloré riéndome del único premio Golden Popadom que tienen en la pared. GANADORES DE LA SEGUNDA MEJOR CURRY EN EL SURESTE DE 1998 (algo así). Todavía me hace reír hasta el día de hoy.De todos modos, tenía una gran comida aquí:) Definitivamente lo recomiendo.

Lovely staff members, despite sometimes being really busy always have time to chat and still smile. Excellent food, always good quality even if it is late or busy. Food is always piping hot and consistently tasty!!

It was the first time we ordered take away from them and probably it will be our last. We tried to order on line but the webside didn’t work. We phoned them for the order and they told us it will take up to an hour for delivery. After an hour and 10 mins we asked why the food has not arrived yet, and they told us that our order just getting out. After 1h35mins in total, the food arrived and the portions were tiny for that prices. The curry chicken had 6 pieces of small chunks of meat. The taste was average to what it could be.

Hace años que soy fanático y, aunque nos mudamos fuera de la zona, regresamos para recoger nuestra comida con bastante regularidad.Me he dado cuenta de un menú renovado, que generalmente significa precios más altos, pero supongo que es lo mismo en la mayoría de los lugares.El ají masala de pollo está rompiendo con pollo fresco del hueso y buenos trozos grandes. Ahora alrededor de 7. 50.El pollo tikka era el buen estándar habitual y arroz con hongos, roti coronó la comida. El servicio fue excelente, con la comida lista a tiempo.Una queja menor, la comida para llevar inserta un pequeño regalo de 'bolas' o bhajis fritos con su pedido. No son particularmente apetecibles, sino que tienen un bhaji de cebolla.

Never really been massively impressed with the food from curry kings. I have been a religious user of Spice of Bengal who tonight just happened to be shut. Although there's nothing wrong with the food from CKs, I've always been a bit underwhelmed.

Se olvidaron de poner en 3 porciones de arroz, hombre entrega señaló que será de 50 minutos. Llamé al curry y él me ofreció no kings disculpa y aún quería el precio completo. He celebrado el dinero por el camino. Servicio de atención al cliente nunca se basura de nuevo.

For us Curry Kings consistently provide fabulous tasting takeaway curries. They are the benchmark against which all other curries we have are judged.

Just had an extra hot Dansak and they must have changed the recipe as it was lovely before, but it was THE BEST! Today. The sweet and sour taste was just amazing!

Ordered for a delivery which took around a hour. Starter was good but the Curry was very bland and not authentic at all. Wouldn't even know you've eaten a curry. Tast like a soup. Definitely not curry kings!

This is my favourite curry take away on this side of town, the korma is delicious and the portion sizes are really generous. Would recommend Curry Kings for a great takeaway at a reasonable price!

Hemos estado recibiendo una toma lejos de aquí por más de 10 años y cómo cambio de los tiempos. Esta es la tercera vez que he tenido un problema y ahora hemos perdido la fe. Nuestra orden esta noche nos llevó más de 2 horas porque lo entregaron en la dirección equivocada. Cuando llegó la comida estaba equivocado. Les llamamos y no podría haber sido menos molesto! Su solución era tener una comida gratis la próxima vez ... No demasiado bueno para nosotros cuando nos trajeron la comida era incomible debido a alergias. ¡Qué vergüenza cuando a llevar esa buena comida siempre que repartían con un buen servicio al cliente perder de vista lo una base leal al cliente significa. Así que en el futuro será encontrar una nueva casa de curry que pueda entregar en un tiempo razonable, conseguir el orden justo y realmente se preocupan por sus clientes. Es una lástima que en curry king para perder lo que es importante.

We have been regular customers at Curry Kings for more than ten years.The staff have always been polite, professional and friendly.They have always been willing to 'tweak' the dishes to our personal preferences.The food has always been high quality, piping hot and delicious, with good portions of your selected meat if you're carnivores like us.We had been asking them for years for a delivery service and it is finally available.So now we can have our favourites delivered with the convenience of on-line ordering on their own website or by telephone, at last! Thanks guys!I have read some negative reviews on other sites but I can honestly say that we have always had good service and on-time deliveries, and i can count the occasional 'vegetable instead of lamb samosa'-type incidents, in all those years, on one hand.

We used to be regulars here, but not been for a while. Decided to treat ourselves for a mid week birthday. Order in line and the meal was ready for us to collect 15 mins later. The food was, however, not as good as I remember, all the sauces ( and I tried everyone 's) tasted a bit watery. All the side dishes were great including rice, popadoms, nan bajjee. Will go back again to see if this was a one off blip.

Having ordered food for delivery & told it would be with us within 25 mins 45 mins later we phoned back to 1st be told there was no order then they found it & said it would be with us shortly 15mins later it turned up luck warm & wrong. We then phoned to advise order was wrong, no apology or offer of refund. It's a shame as the food is normally excellent.

I am surprised their has been so few reviews on curry kings as it is superb. I have used many Indian restaurants / takeaways and always go back to curry kings. The chicken used is all breast meat and is always top quality. The curry's are always excellent in flavour and quantity and if you have it delivered always on time. curry kings has a band of loyal customers and it it easy to see why it is fantastic!

One stop takeaway shop!! Very tasty food, welcomed with two open arms and very quick service!! I don't get to visit that often but when I do it's always a treat.
