We enjoyed a Saturday evening delivery. All Food excellent. Arrived in good time despite being peak time. Great vegetarian options.

Food is absolutely disgusting, food tasted like it had been frozen and curry just tasted absolutely awful, pakoras where like rubber and also had an awful taste, I only had 2 bites and chucked the rest in the bin such a waste of my last £20

We have ordered from here a few times and it’s always been great, but last Friday we ordered a take away as a treat and it was diabolical, two missing items and the rest was inedible, we phoned up to complain and was faced with a very irate person, finally got told we’d get a refund of £12 (which is what the missing items cost) and have never received that refund and were left hungry

Great food, did arrive hot but took nearly 2 hours.

We have used Mother India as our-go-to takeaway for years, however our last experience so was disappointing that I will not be back. I collect our order and was amazed to see the filthy (no other word for it I'm afraid) state of the 'white' overalls being worn by the catering and serving staff. The food was equally disappointing with the chicken being far from fresh, and - I'm guessing - bought in frozen. It may be we hit a bad night and things have improved, and I can't account for the difference between our prev ious and last experience, but I'm afraid to say I will look elsewhere in the future.

Food isn't as good as it was years ago. Went to collect tonight and the kitchen looked hectic!!! Think they are throwing it out to keep up with demand.

Ordered at 5 . Told it would be delivered within the hour after 3 phone calls nearly 2 hours later when I said to cancel order driver turned up . Food was cold and some off the order was missing another phone call to be told they would send the missing . It was too late but they didn’t seem worried .

Ordered a takeaway from them always been good it took over an hour to get here when it did there were dishes missing the popodom and onion bahji tasted like they had been fried in old oil the chips were hard as were the chickpea dishes and the nann bread was burnt

DO NOT EAT AT THIS PLACE, FOOD POISONING WARNING. We usually get takeouts from this place occasionally. Foods OK, never had any issue with it. Untill I got the worst butter chicken I have ever eaten. The whole thing was flavourless. On top of that my girlfriend resieved the worst food poisoning she has ever had from her keema aloo. She had the bug for 2 days. And wouldn't stop throwing up. We had to to call a ambulance since it was that bad. Wouldn't usually post very negative reviews, but at this point I don't want anyone to get food poisoning that badly.

2 hours late and not what I ordered. Absolutely fuming, ordered two currys and some sides at 18:18 arrived at 20:10. I ordered a mild bhuna as I'm not great with spicy food, it arrived 2 hours late and very spicy I couldn't eat it. I called to let them know and asked for a refund the guy said he doesn't know how to do a refund and his manager isn't there so couldn't help me. Absolute joke and I'm starving 😫

Had a selection of food tonight and it was amazing. Not eaten here in a while I was very impressed with our food order 👍🙏

Tandoori King Prawns. Alway our special treat delivered to our door, bursting with large beautiful butterfly prawns. Also Vegetable Byriani Highly recommended!

Used for 20 years been going down hill for few years food 2 hours late was told driver broke down . When driver arrived was told they were living. Food was cold worst ever eaten no customer service just lies. Seriously gone down hill . Will never buy again as they lie

Ordered a lamb tikka masalla, flavourless sauce with chewy and barely edible lamb.. onion bhaji was dry, lacked in flavour and the texture suggested that it's been pre-cooked and then microwaved. Ordered raitha and mint sauce, both pots tasted like plain yoghurt with ZERO difference in texture or flavour. Keema naan must have contained 2 grams of meat at the most. Best part was the rice, which was at least 3 days old and overcooked.. after paying nearly £30 for this disaster of a meal on a quiet Monday evening, I have learnt to never order from this establishment again. This is an honest review coming from a chef, I would never leave such a review without reason, however the food was genuinely terrible.

I ordered Tikka Masala ant the chefs special. Arived when expected. Chefs special was okay and I particularly liked the fresh chilies, the Tikka was not so good, was a shame because the chicken was really nice but that sauce really let the team down. Price was fair and I would order again just not the Tikka Masala.

My favourite place has closed so I went back to MIT for the first time in a few years. My dish arrived hot, however it was dry. The meat was in large slices, was dry and had no flavour. I had a slice of tomato and a small slice of green pepper. It lacked juice and was consistent with a reheated dish. The pilau rice was yellow, flavourless and not at all fluffy. I'll keep their number in my phone but with 'void' next to the number as a reminder to try somewhere else..

Best Indian in Yate!! Have been ordering from here for years never had a bad meal!! People there are so friendly dishes are very generous portions and delicious!!! Can't recommend them enough!!!

Just had a delivery food was warm but tasty . Portion sizes have gone down. But prices gone up I had chicken and meat dupiaza . 4 small bits of chicken gutted . Always been good other times .

My family always order with Mother India and spend hundreds of pounds there. Last night we ordered online and went to the restaurant to pick it up at the time we were given. We got there and it wasn't even cooked! So had to wait a while. We then got home and there were items missing from the order, so we rang up and were told someone would deliver it. So we all waited to eat our meal together, while it's all getting cold. 20 minutes later we still had not receieved anything and we rang Mother India again who said they were very busy and we had to come and pick it up. It was their mistake and they told us they would deliver it. I said I did not want this and said I expected a refund. In the end we all shared what we had and another 20 minutes later the missing items turned up. The tikka was also very bland. Very disappointed, again, this isnt the first time! Not even an apology, very poor customer service and I think we will be trying somewhere else from now on!

ordered a few times from Mother India (especaily on Tusedays when most takeaways (chinese) are closed) Never had a problem before but last order had no salad with the tandori mixed grill even though i had clicked for that! apart from that small blip not a problem BUT i must point out that they do loyalty points ect BUT they dont say on the website ect that you have to have a minum of 1500 points to actualy use them ! and if you contact them or leave a message on their website then they just tell you to ring a number that is a national delivery service similar to just eat, uber eats ect so dont bother till you have the 1500 points (and takes a bit to acure them as well by the way! Also cant go of the timings they give you on website as sometimes its early or later depending on how busy they are like a fri or sat night ;)

Asked for a 815 delivery it came 45 minutes early so sent it back as the people eating should not be here for 45 minutes, they sent back the same food so we had cold chips rubber pompadoms and Luke warm curry and rice. On there mistake they couldn't even do us a fresh batch of chips. Vile

Ordered a takeaway from here. Ordered Paneer, my favourite veggie ingredient in a balti with spinach. Husband had a chicken dish. His meal was fine, well OK apparently, but mine, well yuck. I eat a lot of Paneer. This was slimy and sour, more like lumps of dairylea chucked into the meal. I had to pick it out and it had tainted the rest of my meal. This was the first time we had ordered from here and had planned to make it a regular, but this has really put us off.

We have been ordering here for about ten years. Always great food. Tasty and fresh. My husband is Indian and for him it's the best Indian food in UK. Many thanks.

Absolutely furious… ordered food via Uber eats… mother India use their own couriers… estimated arrival time 6.45-7.05 pm.. at 7.20pm I rang the restaurant and was informed order on its way… so busy myself getting plates etc ready… still no food… I ring again at 7.45… the restaurant say ‘hang on I will call the driver’…. They apologise and said driver on his way… the restaurant is a 7 minute drive away from our home! I wait another 20 mins… at 8.05 I call restaurant back… they ring the driver again … actually ring him this time… then tell me the order has never gone through and we won’t receive our meal for another hour as they will have to cook it now!! I’m cross at being lied to twice…I have been offered a free side dish on my next order though!! So that’s worth it … oh and I’ve been refunded the cost of the meal but I’ve lost the £3 tip that I sent to driver too. Needless to say I told them I didn’t want the food and we ordered from Spice 37 instead … came in 30 minutes!

Awful. We don’t usually order take out very often, but after a busy few weeks we tried it. We spent over £30 on a mixed grill, a poppadom and a naan, thinking it would be fine. The portions, for £30, were tiny. The food was cold, stale and flavorless. I’m so disappointed.

We spent over £30 on a mixed grill that was flavourless and chewy, a naan bread that was soggy and a single poppadom that was stale. I’ve genuinely never been with disappointed!! Save your money.

We have been using Mother India for many years now for our takeaway treats! We always experience a great service, friendliness of staff & top quality food. Our takeaway last night was really impressive - the flavours were just so good! I really recommend the Chicken Balti or Pathia. Also Mother India’s rice is the best rice I’ve ever had! We look forward to many more years of your lovely meals :-)

Orderd from here last night. It was so fast and the food was lovely! Honestly going here again and again. I only choose a curry because McDonald's n papa John's weren't delivering. Little did I no I'd stumble across a good curry!

I orders a delivery for last night to arrive at 7 pm It came at 8.15 over a hour late not a good first impression of the place. The food tasted good but was luke warm at best when I phoned to find out were my order was was told it was on its way ok bye and was then hung up on. They sincerely need to undergo new management or have better customer service would not recommend

Food was nice, but it is inexcusable that the food arrived 2 and half hours late without apology or even offering any discount for the inconvenience. We ordered at 6:45, and the food finally arrived at 9:30. Awful service.

In fairness the delivery was only 10 minutes outside the latest time of 65 minutes. Everything arrived, but not very warm. We ordered a medium curry and bhuna for the mains but they were just stew... no heat at all. Really disappointed. Won't be returning or recommending.👎

Lovely meal had collection ordered on line and they were so so busy but the girl in there was very good pushing the cooks and taking orders the chicken pathia was to die for. Definitely be going there again

Collection was 90 minutes late, incomplete and cold never ever again, so disappointed. Ordered the set meal for 3 @ £47 the starters was just Bhaji and we had three curries and three rice all the same. Lots of upset customers collecting failed deliveries.

Can really recommend this restaurant. Staff was very friendly and the food was amazing. Especially when you are looking for a place that has lots of vegetarian options, try it out!

Food was over 2 hours for delivery less than a mile and when arrived food order was incomplete with one main meal missing and what was delivered we barely tepid in temperature let alone even warm , Won’t use them ever again .. very poor

I ordered a takeaway and couldn’t believe one of the dishes a korma that my daughter order had at least 4 hairs in it!We didn’t notice until she’d started eating, we thought the first one might be hers. Then we found a pubic hair at this point she was nearly sick and we all stopped eating. On further inspection we found 2 more hairs (one long and another pubic).Whoever was preparing or packing this meal must have done this on purpose.I emailed the takeaway direct asking for my money back, an apology and if possible an explanation. I told them that if I didn’t get it I’d leave reviews on social media explaining how disgusted were are. I’ve had no response in 48 hours.Avoid this place at all costs. We may have been unlucky, but there’s no excusing what happened and the fact that we’ve not heard back from them shows me they don’t care. I only usually leave positive reviews, but I don’t want anyone having to experience what we have. I wouldn’t eat their food again if they paid me!

Friends had given us such fantastic reviews that I thought we had to try... exited to say the least... this wore off after the hour and a half wait for delivery... but if it’s that good it’s worth it right?!? Hmmm nooo... Luke warm and flavourless... back to Megna or Spice 37 for us!

Very very poor. Ordered at 19.33 and was told would arrive at 20.25- then 21.00 then 21.35 then eventually turned up at 21.45. I’d tried calling the restaurant a number of times to no answer, trying to cancel but they wouldn’t pick up. I’d got bored by 21.00 and eaten something else. Tried cancelling through Just Eat but couldn’t. Then just eat wouldn’t do anything they told me to contact restaurant. Eventually go through to restaurant after refused food delivery and they said tough - call just eat. Called just eat and they said call restaurant. Gave up eventually and wrote off as bad experience. Will never use either again.

I love Mother India and the people who run it too. Every time, we have an Indian take away, we always go to Mother India.

My daughter had food on Christmas eve. It was cold when it arrived and the naan bread was soggy. Will be ringing today as the first day they are open after that night and complaining. After spending £19.00 was a waste of money.

Many years ago this was a restaurant (decor still suggests this). Now it’s just a takeaway but a very good one at that. Friendly helpful chap taking orders. Menu quite small and limited, ut none the worse for that. Food was tasty and hot, and an added bonus, it’s not swimming in a lake of ghee. A free veg side dish is offered for orders over £20, you do need to request this at time of ordering.

I haven’t ordered from Mother India for years (no reason, I just forgot about it) but I must say that I’ve just enjoyed the most wonderful chicken Korma and Chicken Rezzala with mushroom rice. I can’t speak for others who have reviewed but I am 110% impressed with my meal and will be ordering from here again very soon. The years of experience certainly shine through in the superior taste that Mother India’s curry’s offer that has sadly disappeared from many other curry houses. Well done Mother India and thank you!!

Mi pollo Bhuna estaba tan salada, si no fuese por el hecho de que yo estaba tan hambriento que hubiera sido incomible! Just ordered a chicken tikka Masala and that was the worse I've eaten ever.the chicken was raw and with no sign of it being tikka at all just plain pieces from island and the sauce had that much sugar in it you couldn't taste anything else.rang them to complain and they hung up.im from the home of chicken tikka's(brum) so I know a bad one when I taste it.avoid this place at all cost

Pedimos un curry aquí recientemente ya que habíamos oído hablar buenas críticas, pero por desgracia nos dejaron un poco decepcionado. No estoy seguro de si tuvimos una mala curry y era una, pero mi marido y yo encontramos duras tanto trozos de pollo sin cocinar en nuestra curry! Nos decepcionó porque todo lo demás fue encantador e I. el arroz, cebolla bhajis y pan de Nan) también la entrega era muy rápido aunque me dijeron que iba a tomar 90 minutos terminó siendo 45 minutos. Hemos estado desanime pidiendo otra vez y es una pena, ya que podría haber sido un agradable curry si no fuera por el pollo sin cocer.

Utilizaba este restaurante durante años pero no para rato. El llevar ordenados en línea por comer. La comida se estima que entrega de 45 minutos. Fue de 35 minutos más tarde de estimación. Cuando llamé el restaurante recibido ninguna disculpa y la explicación de que estaban ocupados que el servicio era brusco. No tengo problemas con la comida, pero algunos salsas con entrantes estaría bien.

El interior y el exterior de este tipo de lugar muy bonito pero que pedimos comida para llevar desde aquí unas cuantas veces y ha sido fantástico.

I've always used this take away for curry as it has been ran buy the same family ever since I can remember, although it is no longer a restaurant the quality is still reliable. The lamb is always tender and the heat levels are consistent. I've tried the one next door on a couple of occasions but it varies each time in heat and the lamb is always really tough.
