The best restaurants serving Indian food in South East

I’ve dined at Kohinoor many times since discovering it back in 2022 but I hadn’t had a takeaway until last night. I can confirm that their food is just as lovely to take away as it is when you eat in. The garlic chilli chicken I had was one of the best I’ve ever had and the portion sizes are massive! Hands down the best Indian restaurant in Southampton without a doubt. Love it here

We spotted this restaurant as we were walking by. It was full of people & really buzzing. We checked out the menu & really liked the food choices. We booked for next day & the restaurant didn't disappoint. We were served with politeness & we asked for recommendations & they were happy to assist. Starters were the dosa, & prawns cooked fresh. We had the lamb biriyani. I had vegetarian dishes the mixed vegetables, mushroom & pototoe curry & the paneer spinach plus chappatti. The food was delicious & the spice was absolutely spot on for us. The service was excellent & we would certainly go back if we're in Eastbourne.

Such lovely food yet the service let you down. The lamb was cooked well and fell apart. Naan bread thin, crispy and tasty. Great flavours all round, Sadly we seemed to have been overlooked during our dining. We were offered one drink in the 1 hour and 45 minutes we sat in the restaurant. We also didn’t receive the chef’s complimentary amuse bouches, despite seeing other tables having them. We weren’t offered dessert or coffees either. Upon payment of the bill we did mention the service to the waiter, he said they were understaffed. Such a shame!

Such a great restaurant - fantastic food and lovely service. The dosas are amazing. Very close to the centre of town and the station.

Dinner was incredible, service was fantastic and the atmosphere was joyous. But again… the food was stunning. Different to what you might be used to at most Indian restaurants. Will come again.

Really lovely food, ambience, and service, with interesting wine pairings. Engaging blend of well presented dishes paired with eating things with your hands which stops it feeling too formal. Genuinely different recipes and ingredients. A relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere where licking the last of your delicious food from your fingers is encouraged not frowned upon!

Salina is absolutely delightful. Food was great as always. What a nice way to spend new years eve. Thanks Dylan's for existing x

This restaurant takes the word 'authentic' to quite a new level! I'm sure we've all eaten in restaurants which say they provide an "authentic taste of......" but Manju's not only offers authentic regional indian cooking but also has the courage to take you away from the familiar english version of indian cookery to the kind of flavours and dishes you might actually expect in Gujarat, all freshly prepaired by someone who clearly knows what they're doing. If you want chicken tikka masarla then this is not the place for you. An experience not to be missed.

Estamos en ayunas de carne y lácteos, fue refrescante tener un restaurante con buena comida, servicio relajado amable. Disfruté mucho de los platos indios que nunca había probado antes (no suelo ser fan de la comida india), pero en esta ocasión no pude obtener suficiente de ella. Según mi amigo indio los platos eran realmente tradicionales no solo platos populares sino platos caseros. Me encantó la experiencia. Y muy bien decorado, buen ambiente tranquilo y relajado.

A local curry house, with amazing owners and staff. Great food, great service. Went with a group of friends for their New Years Eve celebrations and they could not of done more to make the evening a great experience. The food as always was fantastic, the service could not be faltered the staff did not stop to ensure drinks were flowing food was coming out hot. They had a singer blasting out hits of the 80’s along with a quiz and games. We always get our curries from here as they are an institution within the town and lovely people. Are there many restaurants out there who gave free dining for any families who were struggling on Christmas Day? Use this gem, it is better than the rest…….

Been to Dhaba, around after a month as seen Insta post of some new dishes and honestly another amazing experience of food and service once again, well done guys

Very good food as usual. Very much recommended. Piro paneer and chicken shashlik was very good. Would recommend for anyone. Friendly staff
