The best restaurants serving Indian food in South Lakeland North West

We came here last year when we were staying nearby and it was amazing then and again this March. The staff were fantastic, food awesome. One of the best Indian meals we have had. Thanks again.

We were very warmy greeted. All the staff seemd very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. We opted for the set meal for two and every course was freshly cooked and served piping hot. Very tasty meal which we thoroughly enjoyed and would cetainly return again.

We booked a table of 6 sat night we come for a friends birthday meal we was placed sat by the bar and it was the best meal we eaten out… we was entertained by the girl at the bar and then treated like queens by a man at the bar who seemed to be the manger or owner as he was on the go no stop .. we realised through the meal it was her partner.. they was amazing at working as a team and how they made each person welcome and made everyone laugh we will be returning it was a lovely night thank you

After reading such great reviews on Tripadvisor we took ourselves for a meal here. My husband had butter chicken curry which had about 5 small pieces of chicken and a very watery butter sauce. My biriyani was warm and a bit bland. We couldn’t chew the chapati so left it. A pricey and very very disappointing visit . A coke and water…and the bill was still over £63. Waiter was nice.

Tasty food, and fast delivery. Ordered on Saturday night. Delivery came within an hour. Reasonably priced for the Area.

Great communication before we visited on a couples night out, the place was really busy and had a great atmosphere. The staff explained everything exceptionally well. The food was beautiful and really good portion sizes . Special thanks to the bar who made me a special request spicy margarita - it was amazing!!! We will definitely return!!

I’ve known Tony for many years, Good kind hearted straight up Man, The quality of food has always been on point, i’ve read the reviews am astonished with some, it can only be from competition, or sad deluded people, genuinely been going their for 25 plus years, the lads their are great food has always been good!! I suggest you try it for your self💯

Food was fantastic and service so friendly. Would thoroughly recommend a visit. Particular favourites were the onion bhajis, butter chicken and garlic chicken.

Really good authentic Indian food. Lovely little restaurant and really good quality for the price you pay. We arrived early for our booking but a table of walk ins arrived and we were asked to leave promptly after finishing our meal which was fine it was done in a nice way.

Excellent food and service as always!! We always visit Mela Spice whilst on holiday in Bowness and I can't recommend it enough, our favourite Indian restaurant by far!

Excellent Indian food at a very reasonable price. Lovely welcome and service from AJ. Apparently these are new owners and the name of the restaurant is to be changed to the Blue Elephant. Highly reccomended

From the moment we walked in we were made very welcome. For a thursday night there was a good number of people already eating. Didnt have to wait too long for food to start turning up. Place was very clean and food was immaculate. We will certainly be returning next time we are in The Lakes. Cant recommend this place enough

We have bought food there twice. The guys are kind and serve generous portions. Really friendly, and I would go back again and again. Thanks for being authentic 🤗
