Great Indian food. There is a variety of foods so all tastes should be catered for. The only disappointment was that they close too early to have dinner there.

Came across this Indian Takeaway whilst staying in Kendal. Love this idea to choose your meal deli style! We decided to heat ours up back at our Airbnb in the microwave. We had starters, rice, nann and mains. All was of a high standard and delicious! Friendly staff too! Wish we didn’t live so far away it would become our go too takeaway!

Great vendor of fine curry dishes and typical accompaniment dishes. Wifey buys a mixed set when in Kendal and brings home for dinner…yum yum. But, just this once today I can’t hardly taste curry spice, just salt….way too much salt…and I love lots of salt. Keep the salt content lighter pls….we can always add our own. Cept for this, excellent Indian food.

Great range of curries, wraps and bites. What we had was delicious! Great price and the chap there was friendly and clearly passionate about his work. I think we’ll be back next time

I have had a few curries from here I usually do the half & half rice and curry there is no flavour for £7 waste of time and money nothing is fresh they just scoop the Currys up and then straight in the microwave not sure how long some of the curries have been sat there definitely not fresh and made regular noticed last time they had cheap cans of Cola not the proper stuff

Tried various dishes from here over two separate visits. The onion bhajis, potato slices and saag aloo were all tasty and pretty good value. But the meat samosas could use a bit more filling and chicken main courses we tried were both very oily when re-heated. Overall not bad, but not great either.

Great service, delicious food, an absolute treat for a very reasonable price, highly recommended. Can you open one in Penrith?

Called in just for a look and decided to have a drink in the pub and return. BIG MISTAKE went back and they had almost sold out. Managed to get a couple of lunch time heated currys. They were excellent 👏 brought a few bits to heat up this evening. All very tasty. Recommended

The dishes at this takeaway are comparably priced to Kendal's leading Indian Takeaway but the quality is nothing like as good as their food; and it comes to you cold! I thought I would give this place a try last December so I went in and bought a Lamb Jalfrezi, a portion of Pilau Rice, two Onion Bhaji's and a garlic & Coriander Naan as they had no other Naans by this point. The Lamb Jalfrezi tasted good and authentic, but when added to the rice, I finished up with a lot of watery liquid with my meal which was disappointing. The Onion Bhaji's were overpriced for the size of them ( 3 inch flat patties) and were very oily! The Naan bread, when heated in the oven completely dried out in the middle and was like a cracker biscuit - not good! I paid an amount comparable to that had I gone to The British Raj, except from there it would have all been top quality and freshly prepared which non of this food was (they make it all in a kitchen in Lancaster apparently) and hot; ready to eat. Support your local Indian Takeaway folks - that is what I will be continuing to do.

Just the best Indian food in Kendal, and exceptional value. Very positive, friendly staff too. Each curry had it’s own flavour, rather then just being variations on how much chilli the chef used.

First time at Eat India great concept thoroughly enjoyed a tarka dahl nan and some pakora very reasonable priced and much more substantial than the gregs vegan sausage roll.

Absolutely inedible. Only bought 2 mains and a pilau rice but the salt content made them inedible. First time we have been and lips still tingling from salt not spice. Seriously disappointed!

I am a regular curry eater and have visited Eat Indian on several occasions mainly for lunch snacks. This is because having tried the curry dinners, unfortunately they are WAY too hot for me! This is really disappointing to me as I love the shop with the variety and freshness of the curries. I am vegetarian and so happy to see all the varieties of veggie curries, but so sad that all of them set my mouth on fire! I will keep mentioning this to the staff in the hope that they can make at least one mild veggie curry (they do have a couple of mild chicken curries). Meanwhile, I'll continue with just the somosas, bhajis, pakoras etc, all of which are excellent.

Great selection of well pepared Indian food for you to heat and eat at home. Main courses at £7.95 are enough for 2 and you can add pakoras, bhajis as well as smaller vegetable dishes (£5.95) and various breads. Better quality than most traditional eat-in or takeaway Indian restaurants. As a model I'm surprised this isn't imitated more with diferent types of cuisine like the French 'traiteur'. Really enjoyed our meal and this is a great addition to the food offer in Kendal. (We need much more!)

I suspect there was an accident while cooking, as the Lamb Rogan Josh I had - a dish friends have described as really good from here - while full of meat, and full of flavour, and nicely spicy, was also far, far too salty. I tend to add salt to most dishes, this time I needed to drink water with it. Disappointing. Edit: My stomach decided it was still too salty, so it exited the way it went in. I feel a bit better now. Vomiting after too much salt is a first for me. A note for "Eat Indian": You need to address this issue, it would've been excellent without the excess salt. Other reviews on Google Maps suggest similar intermittent issues with too much salt, I guess the business does not read their reviews as they so not seem to have responded to previous reports of too much salt.

OMG. Fabulous, home cooked food which looked and tasted amazing. Staff were friendly. Highlight was the pakora naan bread which we’ve never seen or had before. Top of the pops. Cant wait to return.

I am not a fan of Indian food but went along with the family, restaurant was dead clean and all food was fresh and freshly produced. Price and service were first class.

Had the most amazing ‘nanwich’ for lunch. Bit of a wait as it’s freshly made but completely worth the wait. Really tasty and filling. The nan was full of meat and an absolute bargain. Would definitely return.

On holiday in the area and had my usual of a Chicken Dansak and a keema naan. Chicken tasted days old. Sauce was good but naan chewy and hard to eat. Group consensus was similar. Not great all round.

Rude waitress at the front Rubbish service One nice lady try to be helpful but seemingly advised not to help. They served the food extremely late almost an hour, despite us being the only people in the shop. Ketchup base curries need to change. One to avoid 👍 Chips were ok and the best thing about place👍
