The best restaurants serving Indian food in Stockton-on-Tees North East

Went here with the other half as a last minute plan. Usually vadah are fully booked up but I thought I would chance it and give them a call. To my surprise they have 1 table left! When arriving was greeted by all the staff members who were very welcoming and attentive. Onto the food.. I ordered lamb Balti spiced up and my partner ordered a prawn Korahi, the food came out piping hot with loads of flavours and lovely decorations! Would hands down go again and again! Thank you to the owners of this place as they have done a wonderful job! Please everyone try this place out and thank me later.

Been to many Indian restaurants and having Indian parents, this is actually a Bangladeshi style restaurant. Food was poor quality especially the vegetarian to the point it was clear that they have zero understanding of how to cook good vegetarian dishes which the continent is famous for. The Tarka daal had big chunk to garlic. The okra dish, the aloo dish were drowning in an oil and onions and tasted the same. The okra was mushy and overcooked. Okra doesn’t have onions as little oil. The aloo was overcooked and again bagged in oil and pretty miserable. Rice dishes were too small and the vindaloo had undercooked spices and too many spices in comparison to the light but hot vindaloo done in better places. They need a new chef. One of the waiters was eating his dinner stood up in the corner at the back of the restaurant with his hands only to go on to serve us. Poppadums were stale and had been sat out and again greasy. The interior decor is musty, toilets poor and very tired and miserable.

Terrible experience, ordered a chicken korai with chips and a few hours after eating started to feel unwell. I ended up with food poisoning. I’ve been up all night with cramps and vomiting. Will never order from here again.

Who ever giv this place it's rating, is a liar, I won't rate this food at all. King prawn curry, king prawn jalfrazy and chefs special, how all 3 meal come out the same colour, the prawns, I would of fed the dog with them, chicken was small boiled, we got pictures of the food.we rang for our money back, In fairness they did, we traveled to Seaton tandoori, ordered the same food, totally different colours prawn and chicken where spot on, avoid the shalimar in billingham.

Excellent food and service. The wife is a lot more sensitive to spicy food than I am which sometimes puts her off having a curry, but she loved the Korma. No complaints on the spice and it was very tasty. I had the lamb Kadhai which was delicious. Popadoms and Naan bread were also very nice. We will return in the near future.

A few guys getting together after football, Solid tasty Indian . good standard, its been there a while so, say no more. Worth a visit

Very weird. Had a phone call from this business. Answered it to hear deliberate heavy breathing down the phone. It was then hung up rather quickly when I said hello so I called back and enquired about the call to be told no one had called me from the number in a manner that suggested I was lying. The weirdest thing is I don't even live anywhere close to the area this company is based in. In fact I'm half way down the country.

usually a great curry from here but tonight two portions of pathia both like water with no flavour. very disappointed

I have to say, people are too quick to say bad things about all their experiences! Seriously people. I don't know if you are so piss poor that you can't afford to eat out? Or that you just love to complain? Read all of my other reviews and you will see I speak the truth!!! "THIS PLACE IS FU $#@NG AMAZING!!! smiley warm welcome from olinda, then all of the staff are so commited to serving excellence! The food was bursting with flavours and spices! The beverages were chilled to perfection! If I were to score this experience it would most definitely be a 10/10! So people, don't be put off by negativity! Please try this place, its awesome! Food, fresh. Staff, attentive. Surroundings, warm and confortable, overall......absolutely taste sensational fantasticly delicious! Cant wait to return!

Absolutely lovely food, first time ordering from her but certainly won't be the last. Delicious!
