Bombay Chilli in Stockton-on-Tees

I've been having the dhansak for the past few weeks, absolutely amazing! The place is ran by two lovely gentlemen. The special rice is also gorgeous!

Food was horrible as it never use to be it use to be nice but it isn't v nice now

Food arrived in the time quoted on JustEat and was still hot ... but food was over-spiced & flavour was poor. Onion Bhajis were dry & burned (overbearing flavour of Cardamom too). 1st order ... won't be repeating (only ordered because discovered local, favourite takeaway is closed on Tuesdays). Update (next morning) ... wife now suffering nausea & traumatic bathroom "repercussions". Will NOT be returning!

Ordered food online and then they rang ages after order to say they didn't have the food I ordered. They they wouldn't refund my money. Swearing and being abusive down the phone to me , absolutely awful service, and now I have to wait 3-5 days for a refund. Please avoid. 1 star is being very generous I would of given zero if it was a option

For the 2nd time the ordered food was disgusting. This time it tasted of burnt pan. Obviously they burnt the food and put the food not charred in the container. The evidence was black crispy chillies. Never order from them I am not.

Ordered meals, estimated time was 1 hour. 1 hour 30 mins still no food, called takeaway they said it was out for delivery. They said a lady called iqra would deliver it and gave me her mobile number. I called this number and a lady answered and told me she didn’t know what I was talking about and she wasn’t a delivery driver. I called takeaway again and again they said be 10 mins. After 2 hours later still no food. They apparently cancelled it hours ago and never told me and just lied to me. Ridiculous

Do not use this takeaway, over 2 hours and never got delivered. Lied too saying it was with a driver and gave me a mobile number. Phoned it the person said wrong number. I contacted the takeaway again lied to again. Then all of a sudden got a text saying they’d cancelled order. They never sent it out in the first place. Bunch of liars

Ordered for the first time last night, can't fault the time it took or the delivery, however the important part, the food, left a lot to be desired. We got chicken tikka Ceylon (chewy chicken and salty sauce with no coconut taste or spice to it), vegetable pilau (salty mushy rice), chips (frozen french fries that were cold), mint yoghurt (somehow spicy!!!), poppadoms and garlic naan (these were actually the only edible part of the meal). So disappointed. Total waste of money. Curry, rice and chips in the bin. One star given because I can't give zero rating.

I been using Bombay chilli for a few months now, and I must say the food is the best I have had The spices the flavours quantity and proper chicken, this places is superb.

Have enjoyed meals from here recently so was looking forward to last nights takeaway. The chicken makhani was unexpectedly sweet & mild but tasty enough. Not a lot of chicken though! The king prawn pathia sauce was excellent, hot & spicy. However where were the king prawns? A few medium sized ones, but nowhere near enough to justify the £11.90 charged. The two of us finished the meal easily which is not normal, we’re usually too full to clean the plates! In summary - tasty food but they need to improve portion sizes. Will look elsewhere for better value.

Having always used Bombay chilli previously I hve found the food to be excellent and have recommended them to many friends and family, until today I ordered a chilli chicken masala, a king prawn tikka nasal, 2 mushroom pilau, and 2 Mann breads, this order was 30.00 plus delivery! Note the king prawn dish is 12.00 on receipt of my dish 20 mins ago I found that the king prawn dish doesn’t actually come with king prawns and first I thought by the 2 I found in my huge car of sauce was accidental so my husband called the takeaway, I mean if you order a prawn curry u want prawns in it right! Anyway 15 mins on the phone arguing with my husband that he personally checks the dish and they put 4 prawns in and cut them half, which we disputed as there was most definitely not 4 prawns which I fact should be by his account 8 pieces of prawn, he then said we had ate them and rang to complain, the delivery driver knocked at our door and and within 5 mins we were in the phone, I even sent an message via just eat as the order was almost 25 mins late at the same time they arrived !!! No service skills, which I am sad as the food is of good quality out from principle I won’t ever order, if you do DO NOT order the king prawn, it’s double the price of any other dish and a complete rip off!!!! Ordered via I-pad which was very easy to do and was quoted a time. All the food arrived 5 minutes before allocated time, all of which came hot. The portion sizes were great especially the mixed Tandoori, everything was delicious and can’t wait for our next takeaway.

A fantastic Indian takeaway that just keeps getting better. We tried a couple of others while it was closed and they really don't compare. Sure, the food isn't pretty. But it's not meant to be. It's lovely quality and so flavourful. You don't realise until you try other places, just how nice the food here is. The staff are lovely, the delivery guy is cracking, the prices are fair. Honestly, if you want a nice curry, give it a shot.

Quite simply shocking, 1:15 expected from just eat. Rang at 1:45 only to be told another 30 mins! They should not accept the orders if they can’t fulfil them in a reasonable time. Left hungry and disappointed

First visit to this takeaway for years. I usually don’t bother with Indian takeaways as I find them disappointing. Restaurant Indian food is much nicer but tonight I fancied a curry without going out as the mrs was working. Tried all takeaways in Billingham but all at best average. Daughters friend recommended this one. Onion bajhi chicken masala mushroom rice and plain naan pretty basic stuff. Ready in 20 minutes after order I tucked in. The onion bajhis were absolutely dreadful. Dry and tasteless. They looked as if they were from yesterday and warmed up! Not good! Thankfully the masala was decent. Chicken was nice and the sauce tasty. The rice & naan was good too! Will go again but miss the starter out!!!!

Used this take away several times, I don't know if it has changed ownership, but the last couple of times we have been disappointed especially on the 31st December 18 we decided as a family to celebrate New Years eve with an Indian takeaway, as s family we spent around £60 only to feel let down, although the food was tasty it lacked in substance there was more sauce than meat, we ordered several different dishes and several different naan breads we could not differentiate which bread was which. We won't be going there again for a good while

Normally very good but I've noticed that the quality has gone down recently, although tasty my las few curries have had very little meat in them and the sauce has been very watery

tried a lot of indian takeaways in the stockton area and further afield but this one is fantastic. the flavours are spot on, the portions, huge and speedy delivery.

Ordered from here a few times now. I have purposely waited before I leave a review and I must say I have never been dissapointed. The food is really tasty and authentic. I always choose the set meal and tend to add small requests in the chefs notes. Nothing is too much hassle. The food arrives piping hot and very quickly. Great portions and great value for money. Restaurant standard food delivered.

Ordered chicken podina and masala tonight second time I've used this place and although the chips were missed last time the member of staff I dealt with was very genuinely apologetic and offered compensation next time I ordered and was as good as his word and again apologetic about the last time. Things can often go wrong or be overlooked but it's how people go about putting it right that makes the difference and why I went back along with the fact it was one of the best curries I'd had in years really tasty and piping hot on delivery. Really pleased to have found this place and will be my Indian takeaway from now on! Give this place a try you will not be disappointed it came on recommendation from a friend and I have not been!

Food came and was lovely and hot, it tasted great too, a really enjoyable meal.

Got some lovely free pakora and the food was lovely and hot, unfortunately it was all down hill from there. I ordered a Balti and 3 supposedly different vegetable side dishes. All of the dishes tasted pretty much identical, they all seemed too heavy on clove and it was extremely salty, so much so that I could finish my portion. It might have been an off night but I won't risk ordering again as I was very disappointed.

the food came early and the deliver driver was lovely however the food was not that great it came room temperature, the rice was undercooked and the prawns in my curry were over cooked I have ordered a few times and never had an issue I am assuming today was on off day

Fabulous food, beautifully presented, at a fraction of local prices and discounted too!

This is my absolute favourite takeaway to order from, the food is always absolutely gorgeous and the delivery driver is always lovely. Today the food arrived a little late which I didn't mind as all places have busy spells and have other orders to prepare and deliver, but the naan bread I ordered I never ended up receiving and the chips were cold. Definitely will still return as it's the only issues I've ever had with this takeaway.

food is usually amazing, but tonight it was 45 minutes late, some of the food was cold, and I had to chase up where our food was as the just eat app said it had been delivered 30 minutes earlier

Absolutley brilliant. Food was best in area, tops omar kyham, moja, the deli, akbar and anywhere else ive been. My family have used this for years and delivery drivers are always friendly. Food is always hot and spices are perfect, went to bed with 3rd degree burns to the taste buds just as we like it. Wont go anywhere else.

First time ordering from here, my partner really enjoyed his meal he gives 5* me not so much, my korma tasted like strong cheese i did order unsweetened but didnt expect it to taste like that at all, i never ate my meal but may try again in the future

Absolutely over the moon with this place we only just moved here recently and I never regret finding this Indian its by far the best I've had there service is on fire quick delivery, hot food even a few cheeky freebies! Couldn't be any more satisfied! Highly recommended! A*

This was our first really experience of Indian food and it was great.. Everything was piping hot, great quality and tasted excellent - we will definitely be ordering again. Oh, and the gentleman who delivered our food was absolutely lovely - thank you!

75 mins too come but we have recently started ordering here and were curry obsessed and this is by far the best around at the minute very tastey cooked to perfect and a bit cheaper! There always very polite we we only order from here now.

The food was cold but very nice. About 15-20 minutes late and had forgot the poppadoms. Other than that it was really nice. The mixed tikka kebab is excellent value.

Disappointed as some of the ingredients listed on just eat were not in the dish, it tasted horrid so asked for a replacement, got attitude of the shop and was kept waiting an hour for a replacement and I had to pay the driver another £2 for it. Shocking will not be ordering again

Normally order from here and love it but this time the popaboms were soggy the food was cold and bland don't no if you have a different cook or just having a bad day. On the plus side delivery was on time

Really disappointed with the meal. Normally very much enjoy the food from Bombay chilli but I'm afraid to say not this time. The bhaji were very dry, the naan was crispy, not sure how that happened but I like my naan to be soft. The korma was fine as was the rice. Will use again, wouldn't stop using this takeaway cause of one poor meal.

Food wasn't very nice... breads were cold, Baltic had three bits of chicken and two bits of lamb in it.. korma was bitty, not in a nice way... won't bother ordering again

Not happy at all, decided to give anotber chmace after bad dood hygiene score and got the gandoor chicken which was actually inedible tasted like it had been warmed up in microwave, was rock hard and had to put in bin...£13 wasted and gutted as i used to like their food

Everything was soggy, some chips barely cooked. Curry wasn't that warm, everything else was cold. When I rung shop the order was apparently out and I was next despite not giving address etc! First and last order

Delivery time extended and then it was still late. Obviously had been in car a long time as good was luke warm at best. After heating in oven the Balti and Jalfrezi tasted the same and not particularly good. Naan bread was rubbery and even the rice was not particularly pleasant. Will not be ordering from Bombay Chilli again.

When your poppadom dip is solid you know youre in for a treat. Poppadoms were stale, bhajis stale, onion dip in a bag. We gave it a try, just hoping my guts hold out.

Ordered beef rogan josh and felt like it didn't have much meat and far too much curry powder, so much so you could see it in the curry and it tasted powdery. Usually so much nicer than this :/
