No matter where you seem to find them, test kitchen food always hits the spot. Must have tried almost every item on the menu by now and never been disappointed. Amazing veggie/vegan options too

Vegan is hard to come by. They had a fab choice and very well presented food - attention to detail was lovely. Really friendly team.

Amiable and lovely staff. I enjoyed the wide variety on the menu and the good wine. Will return next time we are in Portsmouth. We had intended a French meal at the Brassiere Blanc, but they were card only, so it was their loss and our gain at this lovely place.

Very disappointed that the owner has not placed any wheelchair access here. The host told us the owner has not gotten around to that yet.

Casual night out when residing locally. Well presented new menu. Must try dishes. Pie was excellent pub grub and the Indian platter. Reasonable prices on drinks. Very hidden local gem which I would highly recommend

Have enjoyed the old Ambrette at various venues in the past but I think this is the only survivor post-covid, which is a shame. Went on a 2 for 1 deal but was pleasantly surprised at choice of dishes available, including complimentary items at start and finish. Lovely ambience and attentive waiter was knowledgeable and proactive. Each dish was exquisitely presented and every mouthful had different flavours and textures. A short walk from the high street so little chance of attracting passing trade but definitely well worth a visit..or two!

Had the fish and chips which were nice, and they swapped the mushy peas out for garden peas. Clean, well kept and inviting.

Picked up a takeaway and once again we are given the wrong food still charged full price and not interested when you call them it’s our fault.

Walked down early evening from Garwick airport. (Walk not suitable if poor mobility. Busy 3 lane Rd to cross, narrow footpaths) took 15 minutes. Greeted by staff and seated promptly. Indian beer cheaper than restaurants at home. (Isle of Man) food excellent. Did not have starters with having 2 poppadoms each. Though wasn't asked how many poppadoms we wanted, Plenty of staff on. All friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend a visit. Used Uber taxi to return as it was dark when we left, so walk back would not have been easy.
