best place on earth EVER!!!!!!!

I have had the worst experience of my life at the Coconut Bar tonight on my birthday. I have experienced physical harassment from one of your security men who has proved to be disrespectful towards me for absolutely no reason. I have felt that my life has been put in danger and I truly fear ever stepping foot in there ever again. I have not provoked any fight and I have been respectful, yet I have felt how I have been discriminated. I have very much appreciated this place, yet I am wondering how a business could prove such lack of professionalism, ethics, respect for the individual, and integrity. As a woman, I have felt physically abused, verbally harassed and, therefore, embarrassed and emasculated through such an abusive act coming from your employee. I do require further investigation regarding the unethical and unacceptable behaviours performed at this bar so this kind of incidents could be prevented in the future, as it can affect other individuals as well. Came for a bottomless brunch. Food was delicious as always and drinks were great and regular.

I came here with my church friends for supper after the service. The food was great but it took much too long to arrive and the staff members’ knowledge of English isn’t terribly good, which meant that in error I ended up paying for everybody’s drinks instead of just mine, and the group had to reimburse me.

Raj,Jo,sim,Tasman and the whole team are very friendly and professional, the food is fantastic and I am always satisfied with the service they provide, highly recommended to everyone.

Really welcoming staff, every one says hello upon arrival, shocking 😃in a positive way. Food arrived quickly and was perfectly cooked with flavours on point. As a suggestion, I would improve the drinks menu, format on offers/happy hour is a bit all over the place creating confusion since different days has different offers. The atmosphere is quite noisy since is a Bar, not a restaurant.

We came all the way from london to reading and went to this restaurant to grab some dinner, Such a nice place the environment and sanish was very friendly and nice with the service, must recommended to hang out with your friends.

This place knows how to do customer service! Super attentive, friendly and efficient even though all tables were occupied and it was busy. Food was incredible, delicious and hot and super quick to come out. Every single staff member thanked us on our way out. Was so impressed with our whole experience.

I gave Coconut 5 stars in 2017. Glad to see it still is 5 stars in 2024. It is more than Bar & Cocktails. The food in here has always been full of taste.

Was in there recently and just want to say the customer service and waitress Asia were very warm and welcoming and friendly and made the experience very enjoyable. Highly recommend to anybody and will definitely be back there very soon. Food was incredible also! 10/10 experience!

I've been here a few times and each time I have experienced poor food quality, high prices and average service. I would never recommend this place to anyone and always try and give it another go for the pure fact that I enjoy the music there. The bar staff are rude, the door security are very backwards in their thinking and make little sense when speaking. I hope people stay away and try the other amazing bars and clubs around Reading because you're experience will be so much more satisfying!

The place used to be great, not any more ! The security team is rough and operates as a cartel They mishandle customers, rudely push them around ( including drunk female customers) then pass on a false narrative. Visit with caution

If I could give 0 zero ratings I would give 0. I am absolutely appalled with tonight, whilst everybody seems to give high ratings my ratings will be 0 for this evening. Excuse for my rant and I understand why people would not agree with me but please let me give you the backstory. I or should I say my sister booked a table of 5 for this evening (granted 1 was a no show)but upon my arrival the bouncer told me regardless my party was not allowed to attend , reasoning my mother who had been out prior to this restaurant booking was 'intoxicated "in their opinion therefore would not let uts enter ,upon speaking to the manager he was also heated with his response,this upon making me furious ,not only had he rejected my 60 year old mother from entering (whom today was a bit tiddly but also a grown woman who could be tiddly but also aware of everything that was materialising ĝ, enter the premises and the fact it was my 40th birthday which was ultimately suspended due to some reasoning out of my control I would just like to say I'm absolutely furious, could have been handled a lot duffers

Had bottomless brunch with my daughter for her birthday. Was served by Jo. We had such a great time. Food was good. Drinks were great. Service by Jo was great. Drinks flowed. Atmosphere was good too. Would definitely go back.

One of the restaurants I go to in Reading all the time. The overall food is delicious, the environment is great, and the service is great. His pork belly bite is delicious😋

I dropped in for lunch. Food was really great (I had the sweet potato fries and veggie bibimbap). Service from Jo was wonderful.

Good food at considerable prices esp during their lunch hours discounted offerrings. Their service is phenomenal, everyone is accommodating and hospitable just like how it is in an Asian country! Totally recommend!

One of my favourite places in Reading when I come up to visit. Food is well priced and loads of choice. Cheap beer :) Staff are the best part though, everyone is so friendly and always says hello and goodbye.

This place was one of the decent places in Reading but now, what is up with the music, so basic and mono tone. Come on Coconut, change it up. Get better DJ and innovate with time.

Great service and food was a great portion

I was stopped from coming in due to shorts on a hot day. Jean shorts were allowed though, as were dresses that revealed far more.

Not many dishes for Vegetarians/vegans. They have a Vegan menu with literally 2 starters and 2 mains that you can have, In the normal menu they have Vegetable Tempura (but they fry them in the same oil as the others and therefore wasn't on the Vegan menu). There is also no tofu at all on the menu. Considering it ia a Pan-Asian restaurant, The main I ordered was also not as great as it was just stir fried vegetables.

Good food and very friendly staff. Music was a little louder than I would usually prefer but it wasn't enough to be off putting. I will happily come back when in town in the future.

Didn't realise when booking was also cocktail bar, would probably not booked if realised. But it was fantastic good food great service at atmosphere wasn't too bad for an auld one.

Enjoy coming here for a pint or a date night. Can't fault the staff and the beer on tap. It's a definite place to visit when in Reading.

I had an amazing experience today ,the brunch deal is great , we had the best service from Hannah she is really good ,she make us to feel really comfortable and she took good care of us !Well done Hannah you're an amazing manager !We Will return for sure

Tamara was really lovely, lovely drinks.

We came for lunch and were pleased with the selection of Asian food and cocktail menus. The ambiance was inviting, and the staff were courteous and greeted us warmly. Our orders were served within 10 minutes of ordering and were delicious. The portions were just right, same goes for the spicy level. The gravy was flavorful, and we thoroughly enjoyed the delicious meal.

I wonder why I took so much time to visit this awesome restaurant near Reading center. Happy I did visit at last and I will be visiting it again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for Asian Thai cuisines. The food taste awesome. The drinks(cocktails) are very good. Service is awesome. To my surprise, anything we ordered they were quick to get them to us with no waiting.

Friendly staff, nice atmosphere just a shame about the food. Rice was much too soft, and very little flavour in the dishes. The menu has a large and interesting variety but I'm not sure I'll go back to try the others

You make me feel really special and important. It's how I've always thought going out for dinner or cocktails should be, but never is. You are different from the rest. You start with kindness and service and treat people like VIPs. You're very special and I'll continue to come here. In fact, I'm coming today to introduce someone new to you! Thank you. Love this place. Most recently took a group of 7 work colleagues from across the world who all loved it. The variety of food is amazing, quality of food and speed of service for the money is difficult to match.

Excellent service thank to JO, she was looking after our table very well. Very polite and pleasant thank you JO.

Food was very nice but they give you an hour and a half to order and eat, we finished with 20 mi utes to spare so we ordered some drinks and we was told it was not a good idea as we did not have much time left, with 10 minutes left they brought us the bill without even asking for it. I had to tell them to leave us alone so we can enjoy our drink and I would let them know when we had finished.

Can't comment on the food but wine and beer selection was decent. Thought the wine list was very reasonably priced.

Visited Saturday, friendly service on entry and exit. Bit over the top with everyone saying welcome and goodbye. Was the given the bill before asking for it and essentially kicked off the table, waitress was not friendly as well. Appreciate they are busy and can't be helped. Food very average, cocktails with way to much ice as well. Better places in Reading if you are going out. Reasonable price.
