I lived near here once, for twenty years. It was The Chequers. The site was five hundred years of history, as it was a coaching stop. There was a huge historic tree in the grounds destroyed about 20years ago, an acquaintance of mine did buy it and turn it into very lovely furniture. I digress. Firstly, we drove into the car park and saw a sign saying £4 an hour. I wasn't going to pay that AND patronise the restaurant, so we drove out and parked round the corner. It wasn't until we got inside that we saw a notice saying parking is free for patrons, but I wasn't going to risk it. Please, improve your car park signage! Once inside the staff attention was excellent. It's 20% off if you use their app to book, well worth it. The food was excellent for the industry sector we're in (pub grub) if I found any fault is that was too much. The tap water came with ice and lemon, tick. I find this all the time. Perhaps more eateries need to have small and large portion option, I hate to waste food. The whole place is a bit well, 'brown'. Having written about the hospitality industry for a living for a few years, I do notice things. A crushed coffee cup was being used to level out the pool table, and the clock battery needed replacing. And the whole place, with it's beams and William Morris wallpaper needs a bit of attention. Maybe fewer plastic plants, more real ones, and some white paint on the ceiling. As for that car park - the outside space is right on a polluted roundabout, an outside space at the back if they would take a bit of the car park to create one, would be much nicer.

Amazing Mother’s Day lunch, food and service was exceptional. Massive shout out to Terry, Bryce and George. Was even more special when Nick the chef came out to make sure we was happy. Cannot fault this place, friendly with an amazing atmosphere.

We always do a park and stay at the Cambridge hotel when flying from Gatwick Airport. We also always go for dinner at the Air Balloon shock horror it's closed. Stopped in for a quick drink to break up the journey to friends for NYE dinner. I honestly thought we had taken a wrong turn and found ourselves in a crèche. There were dozens of small children being allowed to run around and scream to their hearts content. Never have I nailed a pint quicker. Awful experience.

Booked a table for end of Term celebrations for 12:45 only to turn up and find note on the door "shut till 15:30".No email or phone call to cancel reservation. Luckily rang The Farmhouse @ Langshott who were able to accommodate 7 people at very short notice. Food was amazing and staff extemely friendly. Avoid HALT and PULL at all costs go straight to Farmhouse . 5*

We were welcomed by very smiley and friendly waitress/bartender. The decor of the pub was very nice including some period features such as a fireplace. We sat down towards the back of the pub in a nice booth. The menu has a slight Indian influence but also includes classic British dishes. Food was very nice and our son loved it as well. Onto the odd part... When using baby changing facility it was necessary to go into the "hotel" area. After changing our son we were quickly told to leave and go back to the pub. This seemed quite odd considering pub and hotel shared the same building. After some investigation we found out that this hotel is under government control accommodating asylum seekers. Perhaps some information could have been provided when entering this area.

Casual night out when residing locally. Well presented new menu. Must try dishes. Pie was excellent pub grub and the Indian platter. Reasonable prices on drinks. Very hidden local gem which I would highly recommend

The food was reasonably priced and really tasty. Would happily return. The sizes of our meals were generous, and there was a sweet ambience

Dave was very good. Very friendly and very helpful. He had two others working the same shift who seemed to do as little as possible. Dave made it a good experience.

Came here on Friday evening for a quick dinner with my family. Food was out of the kitchen in good time and was delicious. Staff were super friendly and attentive, especially the manager (think her name was Roxy) who was brilliant with our two small children and ensured we had a really pleasant evening.
