CCCP Restaurant

Eastcliff, Thanet, <20£
31/03/2019: Made to feel comfortable and welcome from the moment we stepped in. The aromas of the food made us feel very hungry. The food was presented beautifully and tasted equally as beautiful. No rush, food all cooked to order, hence a little wait, but all ran by 1 man and obviously the fabulous cook. Will definitely be going back again.
22/03/2019: Nice food, friendly staff, enjoyed!

The Corner House

Thanet Villages, Thanet
18/04/2019: Everything was really good. My only criticism would be that the sink tap in the ladies did not work and the service at the end of the meal wasn't great meaning we left without dessert, as it just took too long to clear plates and take our order.
17/04/2019: Really good good, been here several times and never had a complaint about the food. The menu is always being updated and all dishes appear to be chef inspired and home made. Worth a visit

The Empire Room

Central Harbour, Thanet
15/04/2019: The Sunday lunch we just had here was definitely the best we've had in Thanet for a long time. The food was simply excellent as was the service. We had family who live abroad with us but myself and my partner can't wait to come back for some dinner soon.
14/04/2019: The atmosphere and decor are superb, matched by an excellent team , both front of house and kitchen, providing outstanding food. Highly recommended

Il Tricolore

Eastcliff, Thanet
14/04/2019: We have been coming here for around 3 years, finding it on a weekend away in Ramsgate and being so thrilled with the food and service that we come back and back. We drive for around 2 hours to get here and this time it was for my partners birthday! Whenever it’s a special occasion or we have the day off we always think of coming here
13/04/2019: Food is wonderful unfortunately the service didn’t match. I appreciate it was Mother’s Day but 45 mins between main & dessert was a bit much hence only 4 stars

18/04/2019: We enjoyed a family meal with our 2 children. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic. The tasters between courses were a lovely touch and very good. Will definitely be back .
13/04/2019: Lovely food. Warm restaurant but we were near the open kitchen. Service was good as was the wine. Going back next month.

The Mad Hatter

Margate Central, Thanet
14/04/2019: The Mad Hatter is a lovely little tea room in Margate. Great Afternoon Tea. Fresh sandwiches and a choice of home made scones and cakes. A varied range of snacks are also available. Friendly service and certainly worth a visit.
13/04/2019: I've been more than several times on my walks from Broadstairs and I have never been disappointed. The scones and cakes are all home made and the best I've had anywhere. Teas are superb with a huge variety and if you don't drink tea leaves then go for the fruits of the forest drink which has not a tea leaf in sight but just beautiful flavours of red berries. Delightful place to spend an hour or so and when you're not enjoying their foods then just gaze at the cakes or quietly watch Jamie, Heidi and their young lady go about providing a top notch service in a gentle and smooth way. Sometimes they put on a talk upstairs about the local area- I really enjoyed the 1hr talk on The History of Dreamland given by the curator of the local museum who knows so much about Margate. Then tea and cake after that. All for £10 and a glass of juice on arrival. You need to book for such but it's well worth it. My favourite place to go for some lovely food and just a few minutes walk from the seafront tucked down a quiet street. Thank you Heidi and Jamie for providing such a lovely place to sit and eat and ponder which cake or scone I will try today. Sharon

The Parlour

Birchington South, Thanet
15/04/2019: Typical lunch fare and nice ice cream. Unfortunately the original owner, who was an Italian, used to make his own delicious ice cream next door - in what is used currently as a health club. Since he has passed away there is still good ice cream but not quite what I remember from my childhood!
11/04/2019: In Birchington for the weekend and found this on TA. Glad we visited. Quaint little place, nicely decorated. Clearly popular with local people too as it seemed many 'regulars' came in. Partner and I both had a sandwich. Really nice bread, plenty of filling. If I was local I would be going back.

La Magnolia

Central Harbour, Thanet, 30-45£
18/04/2019: Great pizzas, gelato and best of all, fantastic harbour views to enjoy your food. Recommend!
17/04/2019: We felt welcomed first by a italian gentleman who gave us a lovely table of two with a seaview! A girl came to take our orders and I’m a bit fancy so I had a lot of questions but she said she doesn’t really know the menu that’s why I decided not to ask anything and have my food as it is! Food delicious, can’t fault the price! The service though didn’t checked at us, they just came to serve or take the plates from the table and it wasn’t even busy! In the end we asked for the bill which they gave us immediately and because we were in a rush we decided to leave money by cash and the change as a tip! Then we left and had a look for a few seconds by the seaview! We were walking down the road and the waitress called us and she asked us if we paid! We felt embarrassed in front of everyone because we had pay and then we said that we left money on the table! To come in a conclusion I wouldn’t fault them if I had done a thing like that and they could have checked the table first! They didn’t even apologized in the end! Even if I enjoyed the food and my staying there I’m

Tartar Frigate Restaurant

Bradstowe, Thanet
19/04/2019: My son and I went into the bar for a bar lunch in April 2019. We have been regulars in the past. The food has always been fantastic; but not this time. We both ordered cod and chips. The batter was over cooked, the fish less than succulent and I was left with a very strange after taste in my mouth.
18/04/2019: Our son was on placement at Margate Hospital so we came down to help celebrate his birthday. We chose to eat at Tartar Frigate due to the great TA reviews and we were not disappointed. Nice place, really friendly and also one of the waitresses birthday too (why was she working on her birthday!)

The Smugglers

Birchington South, Thanet
11/04/2019: A lovely, family run restaurant in the heart of Birchington. The food is varied and good quality. The Smugglers cater for dinners, Sunday lunches, afternoon teas, cabaret nights and private functions. I have been going there for many years and have never come away disappointed by either the food, service or value for money.
11/04/2019: Went with friends for Sunday Lunch, nice welcome when we arrived. We all chose the Set Lunch. There as plenty of choice for all three courses. We ordered drinks, and took them through to dining area, when our table & first course was ready. The Staff are so nice and helpful, and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was delicious, throughout the starters main and wonderful desserts. Well done, and thank you! Will be back again very soon.

Secret Spices

Salmestone, Thanet
19/04/2019: This naturally felt like the easiest choice as it's so close to our house, however, it's kept us coming back again and again because of the fantastic service, tasty food and warm atmosphere.
18/04/2019: We entered the restaurant on a relatively quiet Monday evening with only two other tables occupied. We had 3 children with us. We ordered, the food arrived relatively quickly, the starters (kebabs + lamb shanks) were a hit with the kids and adults alike. For mains we ordered the venison special and a beef chilli curry and a lamb biryani for the kids. The food was simply 'ok' and certainly not as good as some of the more popular Indian eateries in central London that we usually go to (Dishoom, Masala Zone). Owners/staff were nice but we could hear their conversations from the back of the restaurant. With food not being particularly special, decor being a little outdated - not sure we have a reason to go back.

Peter's Fish Factory

Margate Central, Thanet
16/04/2019: We bought a takeaway here after a trip to Dreamland. Great fish and chips, really nice. Reasonable price and friendly staff. We had to line up for quite a while outside due to it being so popular. Only complaint was that my buttered roll had no butter in it. I would definitely eat here again.
13/04/2019: Small and bijou fish shop. Great value chips close to the main steps in Margate. we can sit outside and enjoy the sea views

Restaurant 54

Bradstowe, Thanet
16/04/2019: We visited as part of group and the staff were very pleasant. The food was good and catered for dietary requirements. We had the roast for the Sunday.
16/04/2019: we were treated to our favourite place to eat and it was wonderful. all three course!s were cooked to perfection, and their presentation made you not want to tuck in but the food was to good just to look at, so there was not a clean plate left. the staff were so welcoming and nothing was to much trouble. there was a lovely atmosphere between the other diners . we had a great time.

Central Harbour, Thanet, 30-45£
17/04/2019: We came today for lunch as we have booked our wedding party here in June.
07/04/2019: Inspired menu using local seafood produce coupled with a charming interior make Bon Appetit a perfect lunch venue after a blowy walk along the harbour. Service was quick and friendly, inviting us to take our time. Definitely to be recommended.

Wyatt & Jones

Bradstowe, Thanet, <20£
18/04/2019: My wife and I came here for lunch on a day trip out from London. Really lovely fish restaurant. We shared an excellent, warm sourdough loaf with seaweed butter to start. I then had a baked scallop with a sauternes sauce and my wife had a fish broth. We each had a cod dish for mains. It was all very tasty. The serving staff were excellent and the restaurant itself very relaxing. high recommended.
17/04/2019: Came here with my husband and had a lovely, relaxed meal. Food was good and service wasn’t overwhelming as it can be in other places. Would recommend to anyone!
