The Hollist Arms

Easebourne, Chichester, 30-45£
23/01/2019: We are Godalming and Haslemere Ramblers and enjoy walking around the Lodsworth area. We had reserved space for twelve members to eat lunch at the Hollist Arms today, so imagine our shock to find forty on our walk and thirty wanting lunch. The amazing Hollist Arms took this request very calmly and by the time we arrived had rearranged tables to seat us all and brought in extra serving staff. Their dining room has a great atmosphere, the Staff are very helpful and the food really delicious so Thank You Hollist Arms for your exceptional hospitality. You made it a day to remember, for all the right reasons.
12/01/2019: We have been at the Hollis three times since it is under the new management, and really had fantastic experiences.

Halfway Bridge Inn

Easebourne, Chichester, >100£
06/02/2019: We stopped off here on the way home from the races, the staff were very attentive and drinks arrived promptly We both opted for the calves liver which was cooked to perfection pink inside and a very good portion well worth the cost. The starters as mentioned in another review maybe a bit more expensive than most restaurants but none the less prepared, cooked and displayed very well .Well done chef.It was a friendly atmosphere which is always good to have.Plenty of parking if there hadn’t been we would have probably sailed on but now shall return
03/02/2019: Stopped here today on recommendation. Sorry to say that our roast lamb was not only very undercooked but everything on the plate was cold! Tried to tell someone but they were all busy so didn’t say anything until our plates were cleared from table. To be fair one meal was deducted from our bill but we were still very disappointed. Perhaps it was just a bad day but has put us off trying again.

The Lickfold Inn

Easebourne, Chichester, 30-45£
07/02/2019: The evening started with a whisky sour, but unfortunately I think the whisky was omitted as it just tasted of lemon and sugar. The first course was fine, if not a little forgettable but the menu was extremely limited with only 1 option for my fellow ( vegetarian) diner. The bread came with butter sprinkled with crispy chicken skin. For the vegetarian a major faux pas for a restaurant of this calibre. Finally, the main course was tiny, unappealing and not great tasting. Plaice with a green liquid and too heavy on the green notes in the taste, it overwhelmed the crab that decorated the fish and the portion was miniscule. No sides were available either to buy or with the (overpriced) mains. On the whole the cooking was worse than average and the experience just awful.
30/01/2019: A wonderful space for a romantic dinner with a delicious tasting menu to accompany. We really enjoyed each course and the service was impeccable. The host was attentive and accommodating of our requests.

The Banyan

Easebourne, Chichester
31/12/2018: If you can put up with the aloof staff that tend to spend more time off the restaurant floor than on it, the quality of food is remarkably good and I have never been disappointed eating at the Banyan. The choice is a little limited but there is a small sacrifice for ensuring a memorable meal. The sting in the tail are the prices. I am very happy paying more for a high quality meal but the prices at the Banyan seem almost double what you'd pay elsewhere. Is the quality of the meal at the Banyan twice as high as elsewhere? "No". When you add in mediocre service, you leave the restaurant feeling disappointed.
15/12/2018: A welcome change to your typical Indian restaurant. However Banyan misses the mark. Very little atmosphere, disinterested staff, and high prices to boot!

The White Horse

Easebourne, Chichester, 20-30£
07/01/2019: Found this gem by chance while travelling from southampton to London. Got in just as food was about to be stopped, and we enjoyed some of the best scampi ever. Good pint to round off. Very helpful to lost travellers. Thank you.
19/12/2018: Hats off to the chefs yesterday, there was a big party in for their christmas dinner and then 11 of us came in for steak night. 11 ribeye steaks cooked to absolute perfection. Big thank you to the chefs. The pub has a warm friendly atmosphere and wonderful staff.

Duke of Cumberland

Easebourne, Chichester
06/02/2019: Our motley group of all rambling mates have eaten here twice recently after stomping the Serpents Trail which passes close by... and it has been superb on both occasions. The service is friendly and accommodating and the food is excellent. A really interesting menu... not at all your typical pub fare...all well-made and very delicious. This has long been one of my favourite eating pubs but I had not been for many years... I will certainly be back again soon... Whilst we were all gathered in the warmth sheltering from the cold outside, on a sunny day it is difficult to think of a more ideal spot as the Duke sits in wonderful hillside grounds with big views. Perfect!
27/01/2019: We went for lunch with friends in November. Super welcome, amazing old building, the most delicious meal, well presented, served by lovely staff, great views from the dining room, everything perfect. We loved it. Thank you.

The Three Moles

Easebourne, Chichester, <20£
09/12/2018: Wow. What an unexpected treat! Amazing Sunday roast. I had the vegetarian option and my wife had roast pork. Both were spectacular. The meat was lovely and the veg was inspired. I’ve eaten Sunday roasts at pubs all round the area but this beats them all, hands down.
21/10/2018: Went with friends for a Sunday roast, we had booked in advanced as advised and well worth it, proper home cooked food delicious and apple crumble to die for. A proper traditional village pub, very friendly staff and a great atmosphere.
